Lol I had thought about destroying my dash to somehow mount them within my dash. Then it occurred to me that you can put dome tweeters in small pods, why not large pods. It was rough, and I'm sure it could be done better, but it is a proven technique. They don't look terrible either lol. Glad you enjoyed it. I know my videos are rough, and this is one of my first car audio videos.
I'm sorry man. This was one of my first basshead videos. I used a 2⅜ for the inner hole, and a 4 ¼ for the outer hole. Get your inner hole started without going all the way thru. Then cut your outer hole all the way thru. Go back and finish cutting your inner hole. You'll need something to keep the wood from spinning. You could clamp it to a larger piece and then cut it, use a vise, or do like me and hold it with visegrips lol.
I used scrap plywood from a concrete form. It's what I had laying around. Some scraps from a previous build with a couple L7s. It cut rough, but it sanded ok.
They are very loud lol, but that's why I bought them. I have 3 pairs of them, but I only installed 1 pair. I have them on a Skar Audio SKv2 200.4. I need to get a universal gain knob for them. The amp came with a bass remote, but it only works on the rear channel when you have it in LPF mode. I listen to a variety of music, and when I listen to rock the guitar is very very loud. The tweets are more damaging to my ears than my subs. I'm running 2 HCCA 124s on a Taramps MD5000.1d in a downfiring sealed wedge box that I have behind my truck seats. I have built a SQL system. I have decent SPL on my subs, but the sound quality of my system is great. I am eager to do a SPL build. I have 1 HCCA 152, and I plan on getting 3 more to go with it and put them on a Taramps MD12k. I just need to get a vehicle that can contain the enclosure. I'm contemplating a 4th order. I already have the tweets..lol
@@russellburgan9023 awesome. Orion has some great subs. Ive had some cool builds over the years . Some SPL and SQ .. JL Audio powered by Zapco was my go to in the mid to late 90s .. Currently running 3 Skar Audio ZVXv2's 15"s in my Sonoma.
I almost went with the VXF subs. The ZVX are a bit too stiff for a sealed enclosure. I wanted to go with an all Skar system, but I was salivating for more power...lol. I don't have any complaints with the Skar components that I have tho, 4 PAX 6.5s, 2 35VX-ST, 2 VVX 8s, and the SKv2 200.4. I punish them all, and they have held up great!
They are called lamp nipples. Make sure to get the right size nuts with them. Nipples come in a variety of sizes. These are 5\8 nipples with nuts. Speaker wire comes in different sizes so the nipple you might need could be larger or smaller.
Friggin genius. Use what you got. I love it.

I just got two pairs of these tweeters. Have to find a way to install them on my challenger. I’m thinking about doing it your way 🧐
Can't hurt to try and see if you like it.

Hi can you tell me the name of those hollow screws that you are using to run the wire through
They are called lamp nipples. Make sure to get the right size nuts with them. Nipples come in a variety of sizes. These are 5\8 nipples with nuts. Speaker wire comes in different sizes so the nipple you might need could be larger or smaller.
