He had just finished having lunch with someone and no one was bothering him (not really sure that too many even knew who he was, idk) and I hated to be "that guy" but I thought to myself, when will ever have such a chance in my life. Especially for one of the greatest bands and one of my absolute guitar heroes. I went up and introduced myself, my wife and our small child. He was just absolutely one of the kindest souls I'd ever met. He was very gracious and offered up an autograph, which went on one of my business cards, and took a photo with us. I had so many questions to ask him with regards to the Chili Peppers, his guitars, pickups etc. However, I didn't want to take additional advantage... but I bet you he would have answered every one. He didn't rush or anything like that. I've met a few stars in my day (and I'm one to get pretty star struck) and I would honestly say that John was the most nicest, normal and gracious. I'm only bringing this up because he's not one of those ego guys that feeds off fame, large crowds and money. After meeting him I had just that much more respect for him. Will Farrel on the drums always cracks me up.. what a legend.
That's Chad Smith!
@@churchofsighandthology no way
Yeah, this actor has many talents! Great drum skills
@@pogrmanrichman Sorry, mistaken. It's Will Farrel =( Real Chad Smith died back in the 90's.
@@churchofsighandthology correct
The musicianship is absolutely drawer, how do you get to be this good? The work rate and dedication.
I remember watching this at a mates house when I was 13. I'd only been playing guitar for a year and a half. That intro resonated with me, and I said to myself "I wanna be able to do it". Almost 8 years on and I can :) fuckin love Frusciante, love the chili's. love music.
Haha I was 9 years old when I watched this live on TV in California. I instantly became in love with them their music spoke to me and I just fell in love with the style and sound. I'm so glad i got to see them in concert in 2013 I believe. I practically own almost every song and know almost everything about them haha. Huge fan......I would have never thought another person fell in love with them around the same age as me
ainda mmais o Flea tocando, monstro sagrado
I love watching Anthony chill at the end of so much I. He lets the rest of the band take centre stage for that amazing finish.
Everything about that snare is just perfect!!!
Red hot chili peppers are timeless. As proof you see the Doctor at about 12:03!
I knew it..
+Hunter S. Thompson He wanted to see a rhcp's show.
get in
swine
Who's the doctor btw?
@@allrounder242 the last time lord.
From doctor who.
Man, John is one of the best in second voicing. So glad he's back!
John and josh, perfec harmony vocals
but Josh didn't have a mic , lol
Paco look again on this velvet glove John is smiling at Josh's vocals
but they didn't play that song on this concert, lol
but I didn't say that...
Haha
This gig has some of the best live versions of their songs.
lmao at 18:33 when john walks away from flea but his eyes were closed so he didn’t know he left lol
It's cool though, how he can slap the bass so good even with his eyes closed. Not saying that he's a genius or god-gifted, just a man who's dedicated to the bass.
Baje KoTuppi bro, he’s a genius, and not god gifted, but he’s jesus to the god frusciante
The way john walks away is so funny 😂
They always stand together at the intro so it made me sad that John left, but he came back soon after
HE IS BACK!!!
Bukaj Jakub omg!!!!!!!!!!!!!
John Frusciante is the reason I play a Stratocaster
He's the reason im getting one for my first electric
Same
Mine are him and Hendrix
Me.. Kurt cobain..

THE POWER THEY HAVE ON THEIR MUSIC amazing..
Stagecrew: How many guitar pedals do you want?
John: Yes
XD
Wow this band is great live. One of the best concerts I've seen (only on DVD) was slane castle...
18:06 anthony said, i cant hear, i cant sing.... People was so relax, thats because the sound of the festival was not the correct and utilily for the sounds of the peppers... That things happenns to every body in festival, until the rhcp
he can't sing anyway
The Abider imbecile
@@willvarga1517 Not sure why you'd be so abusive. Anthony is kind of like U2, they can only really make their own music sound good. Anthony himself admits he can't really sing. I'd argue he can't if you measure him by classical standards, but he can sing RHCP songs perfectly.
@@theabider5304 Well he is actually singing
problem with the in ears probably
So happy John got it together but what you go through in life is what makes you . And he is one of the greatest guitarists in the world and my favorite Person in the world. All around great guy . Love you John stay gold brother
and then... THE NEWS THAT EVERYBODY IS WAITING FOR TEN YEARS CAME. WELCOME BACK JOHN.
Best RHCP formation, John, Josh, Flea,Chad, Tony...i wish they back together
I really like how Josh is having fun in the back. Such a simple guy
I was a fan before this, but i distinctly remember this day being the defining day when I became a gigantic hardcore red hot chili pepper and foo fighter fan. John quit the chili pepper soon after, and now in 2022 im finally getting to hear a new record with him in the band.
Good stuff. Man, Chad's kit sounds great. That's some great tuning and sound mixing.
What a trio of musicians! They complement each other perfectly.
And then Anthony's mf Kiedis giving the show!
They could've literally played any song from their collection and people would have lost it. So many iconic tunes.

Very good comment.

Josh and John playing at the same time... The Master and the chilli Child
3:14 look at that pedal board
Bruno Bolz sheeesh
@@philipm3173 most of them are preamps and multipedal platforms. I only rely on 3 pedals pedals lmao
@@joaco190 no doubt, only pedal I really use live w/ my band is an EHX battalion bass preamp (I play bass lol) its got a compressor, distortion and EQ. Does the job for me.
Jimi only had a fuzzface and a wha...
LokkieF He has a lot of pedals becuase he likes to experiment and can afford it? Jimi was broke basically the entirety of his life
I remember watching this on tv when it aired, them, Linkin Park (they were in Japan) and Abingdon Boys School all blew me away, very influential - I stayed up all night watching this. Live Earth was the best on air concert ever performed, I hope there's more worldwide musical collaborations in the future.
i had the same experience then as you :D idk who was up next after ABS but that trio of bands was awesome
John Frusciante is a BEAST in that intro!!! They all were amazing!!! Will Ferrell's BAND is soo RAD!!🤘🤘
