The most pointless addition to a nfs game ever. Bring back Drag Racing at least that was adrenaline pumped with an actual purpose to Street Racing. Drift is such a shit fuckin' flash aspect that serves ZERO purpose.
Here's the best tip that NO ONE talks about. Change the Drift Style to "Brake" instead of "Gas" in the Live Tuning menu! The brake/handbrake will initiate the drift then you just gas it through the corners. Its much easier to change direction and control the car in my opinion because then you are able to use the brake/handbrake and gas triggers and buttons to control the drift instead of just the gas.
@@charliemartin8955 I don't know if you found it yet it does say 10 days ago but if you look at drift Style on the screen from this video it says gas the easy option of gas or break
The way I play all my racing games, I brake to force the front of the car down so that the rear loses grip. Brake to drift is the only way that NFS even comes close to the level of drifting I achieve on Forza. That being said, I don't see any toggle at all on my game. But that could be because my console isn't online. For reasons I won't get into, I can't play my console online. So I only have the base game from disc, no updates or anything. So idk if that's why, but for me, there is 100% no "Drift Style" toggle.

You single handedly made my drifting experience 5 times better by giving this tip. I was having the hardest time trying to transition but switching to the brake actually worked
I’m already rep 50. Done all the story. Have millions. And I still can’t drift. I’ve found that the K.S. Corvette is an amazing drift car for myself to learn drifting in
My common problem is how to setup the car. They often tend to oversteer too much when you countersteer making you loose control and spin around. Using drag tires on RWD cars never crossed my mind so that is something I am gonna try to see if I can get better control over the car to get those higher scores.
Did you know that when drifting, you can slam on the gas again to increase your drift angle, because it’s kind of like a sudden jerk of horsepower to the wheels, causing your car to follow through the road long enough to further increase your multiplier
This is how I get that whip effect.... it's easier than the counter-steer method touted in the video.... thats just too much for me. Next level....lololz....
I found that even for rwd cars a showcase differential instead of pro drift gives more sliding, control and satisfaction perfect for night drifting . i dont have access to live tuning so that may affect this
tip 6 depends if ur going for a high score cuz u can utilize the extra space but if ur going for that clean fun run its better to stick to the normal path given
Another tip from me : instead hand brakes,Use front brake for easier Transition between drift without losing too much speed, use the sport brake setup. BTW I'm using rx7 and viper.
Idk if it just me but when i'm untap then tap gas again (repeatedly) when drifting sometimes the car slightly feels different, i don't know how to explain properly but the game phsyic is like glitchy.
I recommed super speedcross suspension, 5 speed transmission, drag tires, and showcase differential. It works super well for nissan 350z, silvia, rx7 and silvia 180.

I don’t blame my lack of skill. I blame the screwed up traffic mechanic. Literally every time I start attempting a drift activity, the game suddenly decides it’s time for rush hour to start! I had EIGHT cars and trucks appear while trying to just complete the Cylinder Stairs, which is just a short overpass exit!
Nice video militia 👀 nailed pretty much everything in this video, I would also add not to use handbrake and nos tho as those can mess up your momentum pretty hard
Omg, this might sound stupid, cause I feel stupid. But my mistake was, I used to only initiate the drift by letting off the gas, but then I basically always floored the gas while drifting. I learned the counter-steering, but this made the drifts either last to short, or the car getting out of control. It makes the drift zone easier but i drift on the track and got 189k and on nfs paypack the faster the car the better it is at drifting
Pro tip to anoyone looking for a good car to practice on, get an r35, elite drift tires, dirt/drift suspension and dif, on a maxed stock engine, live tune have steering sensitivity one off of max, and downforce all the way down, gas drift style, ive been playing since release mostly drift and have not managed to top this setups hands long great for birds eye, and longer slighter angles.
If you have a good enough drift build like my Nissan fairlady you can start yes drifting by just turning the wheel instead of needing to let go of gas, press it, and then turn.

Instead of initiating the drift with the handbrake you’re initiating it with the gas pedal…basically tap L1 and R2 at the same time to initiate the drift
Idk why everyone complains about drifting in this game, honestly It's my first racing game since like... the original Hot Pursuit, tbh, so I don't have the conditioning most people do But one thing I can say is I HATE drifting using the gas button, I ALWAYS switch it to brakes no matter what car I drive and it just works so much better that way for me I was using the 350z, 370z, and then finally the RX7 (Best drift car by far) before I finally got a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR for racing and the RX7 was clearing drift trials WELL above the rating of my car (280+ drift trials with a sub-230 RX7) while getting easily 3-4x the score needed to complete the trial. So try out changing live tuning to increase steer sensitivity, decrease downforce, use brakes to drift, and please don't use all drift parts lmao, drift tires for example actually kinda suck at drifting in this game compared to drag tires
I'm referencing the starting point to finding the best drift build. Not the "starting point" for players who don't own the ultimate parts. You can replace any of the parts in the build with lower level ones as long as they are the same type...like "drift, speedcross, etc..."
To put drifting on easy mode in this game just tap your gas repeatedly like your firing a semi auto rifle in an fps as fast as you can. And then control it with the joy stick
One thing I realised you haven’t said is to use manual transmission while drifting, you can manipulate the speed you’re drifting if you change gears. Most of the time gears 2 and 3 are best
I use an R34 they aren’t much different from an R32, use the tuning setup in this video but put elite drift tires and a drift differential and the car will slide and drift exactly like a RWD car does
@@mateusz92380 i picked an R32 for my I was a Ford Mustang and something urged me to try the R32 I prefer the R34 irl so when I tried I was using the setup shown in this video but when i applied elite drift tires and and those different parts it started to slide more and felt like a RWD car they aren’t very different the R32 or R34 and I understand what you’re saying it’s very satisfying to drift in it and I’m using it my R34 more now then a RWD but if you apply those parts the car will slide more easily and you’ll hold longer drifts
Wow… coming back to this game after a couple of months and actually trying to drift, I can really tell that the drift handling was just thrown in there and not really experimented on. The amount of mental gymnastics that a normal person has to do to make a decent drift car is insane. But the system itself is flawed because for some reason, the cars will just spaz out and try to automatically autocorrect themselves or they’ll go back to using the “Grip” handling mode. That’s why I wish that NFS would just adopt The Crew’s handling settings for drift cars, being able to adjust how much traction and brake balance (also downforce would be nice) you want on a certain car; instead of dealing with the random factor of whether the car will drift normally or if it’ll just completely lock up and not drift at all even if you have all the right parts and settings and skill.
with out finishing watching this video, with my viper that i had half way suited up but some what already. i had drift tires and switched to off road. Just cause. well, the mods weren't set to as this video showed, but the trick i used to let off the gas.. it worked great of just 3 tries (on the activities - the actual drift races those were to easy with out fully drift settings/mods.) i'm already on the next drift activity. (i saved these for last .. lol)
I know I'm in the minority, but i LOVE Payback and HATE Heat. I don't care about the story. For me it's about the gameplay - drifting is fun in Payback but a chore in Heat.
When in the drift do we rapidly press the gas repeatedly move the steering joystick from left to right as fast as possible? Thats what im doing but i cant stay in a 3x let alone 4x drift and counter steering how do we do that properly you say counter steer but what exactly is that if i tilt the joystick to one side it starts evening out same with the other way how can we properly counter steer where the front of ghe car doesnt zero out?
I don't know why they had to change up how the cars feel from the older games. I don't care about realism, i want to race whatever car i want and drift it too but they made the controls unnecessarily convoluted with the hitting gas to drift. It feels so janky on a controller, the slightest imput just puts you in a tailspin. This is why most wanted (2005) is king
The thing I HATE about the drifting in this game is how your car will just defy the laws of physics and just do some really jank uncontrollable movements when trying to connect turns

Hello everyone, for those unpatient for the video let me tell you some tips and what i found out in this game testing it-
you have three main tuner parts which you can use to make your car move slidey.
i found out that the coilovers a.k.a suspension mod for drifting the so called Drift suspension-is the first thing you need to do
This ability improves overall car steering, makes the drifts longer, and makes it easier to hold a drift, and control it with the steering.
(i did this testing on the nissan 350z from U2-which gets unlocked )
i found out that the tyres (pro drift etc.) didnt matter really much (all they do is) actually make the car really really bad
(like maybe they will help in some cases but i doubt that)
note i tried all the mods separetly not mixed with other mods
(when i used the expensive suspension kit-i just put the basic road tyres)-and the car slided pretty well even stock and it could make second gear donuts (in the case of the first car the first 3 gears are short so that makes it pretty easy to drift even without tyres)
now the diff's-they dont quite improve you overall cars drifting abiltity but what they unlock is the so called
SNAP-drift-it really kind of mimics a LSD locking diff-kind of kicks the tail out a bit more faster, more like snap oversteer in a Toyota Mr2.
overall i think the diff is a bonus if you drift in low speed-like maybe want to connect drifts in tigher places OR in the mouintains
the diff will work for lower class cars which are not that powerful.
then i tried doing the same on the corvette zo6---it handles like a dream with the expensive pro suspension for drift
with some cheap race tyres-but with a race diff
technically it balences out-because i used that car to finish off the last mission for the drifting to get the nissan
(although not neccesary needed to buy) i think the 200sx could probably beat that challenge just needs ALOT of power.
so yea thats it guys hope you got my point

Honestly, i just used r32 skyline, all showcase parts, minimum downforce and its really satisfying to drift with
I use an R34 they aren’t much different from an R32, use the tuning setup in this video but put elite drift tires and a drift differential and the car will slide and drift exactly like a RWD car does
@@brandenemmanuelwoodham6114 r34 was my first choice as well but i didn't know how to do drift builds so r32 was more fitting
The mechanics in Heat are a far cry from Pro Street. These devs need to study the old games while working on a current one for some comparison.
omg I knew something was missing from this game. f'ing drag races. Yo man I like the unique gimmick of forcing you to use a shift. lol
How do you identify what car is a front-wheel type, rear-wheel, or the all-wheel type?
Using drag tires to drift. Now I remember why I stopped playing this game lmao
I haven’t earned ultimate parts so I was wondering what the best drift builds were without ultimate parts
Same build with elite or super plus parts
@@MilitiaGamingCommunity thank you but I have another question what is the Mazda RX 7 would it be the EVO 9 type
with out finishing watching this video, with my viper that i had half way suited up but some what already. i had drift tires and switched to off road. Just cause.
well, the mods weren't set to as this video showed, but the trick i used to let off the gas.. it worked great of just 3 tries (on the activities - the actual drift races those were to easy with out fully drift settings/mods.) i'm already on the next drift activity.
(i saved these for last .. lol)
message me if you want these settings too
(heat races mods are still locked)
i think on this one track, took me a few, then i decided to drift partially on the grass.. i got more score on that too
for the rear wheel drive (for my viper, yea his instructions are alot better)
For some reason I am not able to drift on my Nissan GT- R Premium ‘17. Only when I tap X but the double time accelerator is not working. Any help?
Hey Trigger, what would you change from the RX-7 drift build to do the off-road drift challenges?
Try offroad tires first....if necessary change the suspension to rally
So should you not us the upgraded versions of the parts you listed as a starting Point I was a but confused by that?
I know I'm in the minority, but i LOVE Payback and HATE Heat. I don't care about the story. For me it's about the gameplay - drifting is fun in Payback but a chore in Heat.
payback is 100% better imo
Most wanted ps2 is better
Beat dead zone on controller btw?
I'm on xbox, should I be just pulling the steering or hitting brakes? And if brakes, which one
12 seconds in and i would like to see the experienced version
When in the drift do we rapidly press the gas repeatedly move the steering joystick from left to right as fast as possible? Thats what im doing but i cant stay in a 3x let alone 4x drift and counter steering how do we do that properly you say counter steer but what exactly is that if i tilt the joystick to one side it starts evening out same with the other way how can we properly counter steer where the front of ghe car doesnt zero out?
Thanks
What i hate about drifting is when you have to do drifting missions with no drift cars like black market 😞
This drift bold help me to complete 3 stars in checkpoint to bye M3 gts
The car I’ve seen to work best for me was the r32 gtr
The 65 mustang drifts alright
I don't know why they had to change up how the cars feel from the older games. I don't care about realism, i want to race whatever car i want and drift it too but they made the controls unnecessarily convoluted with the hitting gas to drift. It feels so janky on a controller, the slightest imput just puts you in a tailspin.
This is why most wanted (2005) is king
