just bought nfs heat, and found ur vids, great content man, nfs heat is the best racing game i played since most wanted in 2005, didnt expect this from ea tbh XD

Talk about the starter cars, two mitsubishi grey and green, I8, Marc AMG and corvet, these are the ones you can't visually customize and these have great for new players
I found that if you car hits at least 120mph you could do a small jump with a gap in between then 90% of the time the cops will crash and give you the extra rep at any heat level.
Not a mistake but a tip: if you aren’t in a chase, cops only have a small field in which they can actually spot you. Exploit this as much as you can.
Second tip: always keep a marker for the Edgewood valley mall. When you get to the roof top, cops won’t follow you up
Eh second tip is half true there has been a rare chance where a cop will follow you up there just a rare chance only one will. All you got to do is to try to get him off the roof by making ai try to ram you but get out of the way near the edge of the building

Also can stay running around the parking garage close by and then using the jump when they cant follow, literally takes 2 hours of playtime too, wish the game had a lot more to offer lets hope the next NFS follows up on what this one couldve been

Go for it dude, f the meta picks. Play the way you like it until you wanna get competitive.
1 more mistake: some people put drift tires, suspension and diff on their drift car. A better option is to put drag tires, road suspension and showcase diff. Then live tune it to your liking. I use max steering sensivity and low downforce. On the palm city raceway i got 137,000 in my rx7 (one of the best drift cars).

I drift everything and had no problem blowing out every drift event and competition in the game in the Dodge Viper SRT 🤷♂️
But i used more drift parts and high steering speed max with low downforce and got 457.959

Yea, to much work. I just put on dift suspension and drift tires on and my car slides good enough
on cars that have 4x wheel drive you need to put everyting on the drift becose whit that cind of stats that you just told they wont just drift an i am a 4x wheel drive drifter
Adding to the last one, that being said, you can actually hit LVL50 at night without progressing the story. If you're having trouble just do Night over and over until you're at LVL50 (Jumps and Speedtraps are a good way to rack up rep fast), THEN switch to daytime to get money and cars.
That's how I Did it.
Or just do lvl 3 or 5 heat races to get 40k plus a race and do it online to get a extra 40% bonus
Same that’s how I did it. Did the speed trap at the raceway when it became available and then just did the day race there. If it’s not unlocked yet then either smash more during the day or you may need to do another mission or two. But I haven’t even completed the very first drift “tutorial” and I’m max lvl with U+ parts. Enjoy the grind. P.S. do the race 2 then go to garage and repeat to reset the money. Some races it’s best to do only once.

@@ItsFrBrando yes it does... very well in fact... got my 1mill rep trophy doing it there. The trick is to listen the the police chatter... if you hear: find him, get out your brooms, etc in a female voice.. just hide in the centre (I hid on the ramp under the structure in the centre of the raceway) wait for the all clear call, then verify on your map that all the cars have left... do another loop. You might get 1 loop, you might get 4 loops before the next radio call.. just hide before they see you.... just do the speed trap loop... if you need to run do the jump. The second you see "ESCAPED" dive into the centre and hide

In my opinion I like the rsr it’s just that it’s op and very very Irritating cause I test cars and do sonic with the car I picked and the rsr but I think I found the car Acura Rsx the (Old One) I got a 2:46 ik it’s a bad timing but with the rsr got a 2:48 I don’t think it’s the rsr killer but I think it’s faster tell me any other cars that you got better times with on sonic or any other race with a random car compared to the rsr pls give feedback on the Acura😁

Playing online as a new player is a mistake as you cant pause and if you night racing you cant afford to be idle once you have a heat lvl
Just go offroad in the middle of a field if you need a break. The cops wont roam in those areas.

Usually what I do if I need a break is hide behind a building away from roads it to far away for them to see you
The majority of cops patroling in either cities, port or near launch pad
One more thing with rookie players, they always try to get thier car to road/race stats, and as fast as possible. With certain missions and races, this can be not so beneficial, because the game tries to get you to play all 4 types of racing: off road, racing, on road, and drifting.
Another tip I learned: offroad helps.
It only impacts your on-road performance a little bit, but you will have much bigger margin of error, and much, much more ease on evading/escaping cops. (They don't patrol off-road and have limited off-road performance)

@Skyless my tip: Corvette Grand Sport with all off-road race parts.
But take it with a grain of salt, cuz das my main car.
i like to mix it between speed and off-road, also gets really good results during races, when you can take on lvl 400+ players in a lvl 310 car just by being good in the curves and being fast on off-road, only tested it with the mercury cougar though

@@gabestowe5094 They absolutely do. Just because you can get away from the cops doesn't mean they are balanced. The default cop cruisers can almost keep up with my 500HP (I know that's low HP) Challenger. That's dumb. Also the cops can be heard using NOS constantly.

#7. If you’re making a drift build, don’t 400+ your whip.
Imagine how mad I was when I discovered a lower HP engine setup was easier for me to drive tight turns.

Meh, I'm not rank 50 yet. After ditching the starter Mustang for something better, I turned it into my drift car. It's not bad, but there is better. It'll do for now. But as I have zero plans to swap out the engine with something better, I'm just throwing the engine parts that I replaced in my main ride. However, I'm one of those fools who use Showcase suspension, drag tires, and Speedcross diff.

I am 100% guilty of trying to escape heat 3 cops too early and getting upset by it when I was eventually caught.
Then I went online and learned that this wasn't NFS Most Wanted and I really needed much faster cars before even attempting such a thing.
Not really. Keep your races near the city or lure cops to city or the port and go zigzag or jump ramps to loose them.

Yeah, it doesn't help that the game kinda motivates you to get high heat to multiply the rep. And if you go safe and retire after one or two night races, you get taunted by the NPCs as you go into your garage early lol

Thanks, just got the game 2 days ago. It's on sale right now. This was really helpful. Currently Rep lvl 21. You are right about not buying any car initially. It's not important. I only bought one car before I hit lvl 16 which is the Infiniti Q60 because I was bored with the BMW and I had tons of cash 😀.
For people who are having trouble in escaping from cops at low Rep lvl, you can simply go to the race track in Palm city race way district. I am talking about the one where you will also find a race event called 'The Resort's Circuit'. You can easily escape lvl 3 heat as well by going there. I learnt this trick by watching one of militia's earlier video.

Do the cops just not follow you inside the track? I was playing earlier and I managed to barely jump off the ramp into the track and I lost them at heat 4

Heat 1 has a 1.5x multiplier, I think
also being busted costs money in addition to rep multiplier.
also different people have different risk tolerance
Great video! Also for new players u can switch cars at a race instead of going back to the garage.
Low level heat 5 is easy to do and deal with as long as you are on one location... the race track.
Honestly try this... just do the speed trap loop. If you hear anything over the radio, hide in the centre of the course (the ramp under the tunnel is my choice). Once you hear the all clear, check your map to make sure any cop car has left the circuit... then do another loop. I did a 3 hour grind in a low level car (one that struggled to get 2 stars) to get my 1 million rep trophy.
You might only get 1 loop, you might get 4 before the next radio "get out your brooms and sweep the area!" call. But as long as you hide the second you hear the clock of the radio, you'll never be in a chase.

Just use your starter car until level 16 then get Porsche from dealership until you can reach over 200 miles per hour stitch with doing 2 rep race at night so that you don’t get arrested easily that’s about it

Enjoy. If you have a hard time escaping the cops, Take them to the race track by the garage. You'll definetly lose them there.
You are completely right about not using the handbrake when drifting! Only use the handbrake if it’s a really sharp turn, if not a sharp turn, just use the regular brake and hold for about half a second (varies on the corner).
I've always had a really tough time with turns and some vehicles at high-speeds, Lamborghini's striaght up don't ever start drifting at high-speeds, and my Charger also won't drift unless i hold it for like 5 seconds, and most turns in the tracks don't allow you that much time to do so, so i end up going off-track or hitting a wall/vehicle. Any tips other than something along the lines of "start drifting earlier", most turns don't give you enough time (or space) to do so

When I first played, I selected the Mustang (bad move), then bought my next car at Level 16 (good move), never used the handbrake (good move), I always trusted the car stats (bad move), and I never tried to run from higher heat-level cops with low-performance cars (good move)
I did most of what you did, but I did run from high heat cops, but..I had a fast car which made it easy.
I tested my luck heat 5 with normal e30 starter. Got away once but destroyed other times lol
I would say to also do the speedtraps, flamingos, billboards, etc. at night, since they give you rep which can also be multiplied by your heat modifier.

If you are in a bad situation during night, go to the palm city speedway. It works best if you have a car over 200 power, but you can basically outrun the cops if you go there.
I’m 9 months late but you can also go to the Edgewood valley mall with the car park and hit the jump and get on the roof. Once in a while 1 cop will make it up there but you can deke it out or go down and go back up. If your heat 5 the chopper might try to bust you on the roof but just move around and it will leave.
Highways outside the city are also a good way to escape the cops but you better have a car that can go 375kph. Cops can't catch you at that speed regardless of the heat.

Also big first mistake that I did, don’t engine swap to the first alternate option when you unlock it, most of the time it’s actually slower than the stock engine

Adding to the last mistake-there are also rhinos. if you're a starter just get heat level 1-2 and get to the garage.
Rhinos usually go in a straight way so if you turn they won't really follow you.

I started with the mustang. it's really not bad. at the first few lvls im pretty sure it has the highest top speed. only issue it has is once you start upgrading it the horse power gets too high and it'll do burnouts instead of drive off properly so bad for circuit races. I did end up using it as a drift car though. The handling is amazing.
Did the same with my starter Mustang. Swapped it out from my main after I got the engine upgrade in my Fairlady. Then turned it into my drift car so it has an excuse to be out of my garage.
Can some of the stats be explained by overall weight? IRL, from the factory, the challenger showed weighed 4,170 lbs with 470hp, and the rsr weighed 1,852 lbs with 308hp. If the game is just taking horsepower into account for the "power" stat, that would make sense for that one.
Little different for the acceleration stat though, that one doesn't make sense to me.

The stats for the cars dont show weight wich makes a great difference in speed and acceleration.
As a veteran, I agree with most of these tips. There are some great cars you can get before level 16, including the Lotus Exige at Level 4, and the Nissan 240Z at level 12. However, you would still need to get to level 16 anyway to unlock better parts, so it's a great early goal to shoot for.
I bought the lotus in NFS 2015 and it was terrible, never bought the lotus again in any nfs after that
the 2015 honda civic type r you unlock at like 9 or 10 is faster than any starter car in my opinion
As someone who loves the Fairlady 240 ZG, I can tell you that it's good but pointless unless you can get the 3.6l V6. I bought that car the moment I unlocked it because it was one of my mains in Payback (the other being the C10, those two were my favorite derelicts). However, even the starter Mustang was better base-wise. The moment I got that engine, the starter Mustang was turned into my drift build.
The lotus is 🔥. Went for the challenger and I now dislike drifting cars

I know it's been used a lot but ramps... ramps if you are that person who still wants to chance it in a low level car and get to heat 3 or 5, some ramps can kill cop cars for eaay getaways...
one example is the one at the very end of the yacht dock next to the ramp that jamps over the begining part of the tram in downtown, saved me several times during my 3rd LP.
I'm definitely guilty of #1. Thankfully I was able to get away and cash in my rep but I wouldn't advice anyone else to do the same.
The only thing that made me rage quit was early on for me when I was getting some rep, had a bunch stored up and suddenly a cop chase started with no cops around, then 3 cops spawned on me and forced me off the road and busted me

The starter car tip will only come into effect once you start betting the cash to engine swap as the 180 and 89 Bimmer will not actually be faster top end with their stock engines. Since you need to engine swap ans engines ain't cheap, its a matter of preference since the small block v8 in the Mustang is actually the best engine of the starter cars. Also a tip not mentioned would be understanding the live tuning which will help you corner better and literally allow some of the more agile cars (like the RSR) to power through many turns without braking.
The biggest mistake I made was earning enough money to buy a decently fast car, upgraded it quickly, participated in high speed races and focused too much of night racing because of how thrilling the cop chases are. I decided to reset and I'm trying to win as many races as I can for the class of car that should go to that particular event to keep things challenging. So far I'm having a better time pacing myself and having a lot more money to purchase more vehicles vs upgrading one.

Been setting my sights on NFS Heat after playing Unbound for quite a while now. I can really feel that its mechanics are quite different from those of Unbound. I am hoping that your guide will be helpful to me especially because I'm the type of gamer who wants to make little-to-no mistakes at all.

The cops are rigged
The only change I can think of is, you can take on heat lvl 3 cops with slow cars, but learn to play smart and use the map. Just go to night in solo mode, as in solo, when you open the map it will pause the game and you can look for high jumps or normal jumps or billboards. As for some reason cops will not jump and if they do, their cars would be totaled. Hopefully this helps. :)
Driving into the water also works. Dumbass cops go right in. You respawn; they don't.

The reason why I always keep an eye on the mini map:
Nfs Heat doesn't seem like a bad game. I think that older player ( some are Underground 2 widows ) just shit in modern nfs due to their nostalgia
I always suggest that people live tune to zero steering sensitivity. Then adjust down force on the oval so you don't hit the wall.
2:50 - Handbrake is a must in case of very sharp corners where you go something like 300+, or in emergency situations to avoid hard collisions, otherwise - yeah, sometimes you even want to keep your gas pedal on when braking, it prevents the car from spinning/wobbling like crazy.
The most expensive isn’t the best a lot of the time unless we’re talking certain upgrades

To be honest the higher heat levels should be locked in early game. But also to be honest I never had any fun running from the cops in heat so maybe the issue is the pursuit system is inherently not fun

Lol I have done everything you said there 😂. Liked the mustang, chose it, on rep 10 I bought the dodger Couse of the look and the better stats, I somehow always accidentally get to heat level 3 while trying to escape a level 2, and I was starting to like the hand break better that the normal drifting 😂
Started playing yesterday and 180 was my choice just bc love them Japanese model cars
I noticed a mistake that was made by the game devs instead of the players regarding the Mustangs. The starter stang that they call a 65 is either a 67 or 68 (not sure which since I am less familiar with those years than the previous 2 years) and the 65 that you can buy at the dealer has details of both the 65 and 66. I will always pick the classic mustang since I can make it look like my 66 that has been my daily driver for nearly 30 years.
It's a tail light mod. You can put the '65-'66 lights on it as a mod. Starter cars give you a few body mods right away

Still playing with the starter 180sx... but thanks to the help of friends i got my rp all the way to lvl 50. Just swapped out the stock motor for the forged i4 and im still using it, love to punk all the supercars, hypercars, and corvette cops with the nissan
Since I'm more of the type of player that stays with the starter car and upgrades it NFS:U2 style, I never have a problem with money in car games. And I love that.

I basically passed the entire game with the stock engine that the 180sx came with. It was after I finished it that I went here to YT and actually went and searched for a 180sx build, which I then proceeded to use the one shown by this channel for track. XD
Now my car is hella fast.

I feel like the Lotus Elise should be an honorary car, I dont remember when it unlocks, but its fairly early, and it carried me up until the end of the game, until I switched to the RSR

I am Level 50 and a big mistake is to Grind Money when you are new.
You need the Rep and when a cop catches you you lose your Hard earned Money.
At first you only need the Rep!

Man I regret it cause the 180sx and M3 were leagues better, wish there was a video telling me the mustang was dogwater when I started too but I guess its an ok drifter, I jist picked it cause I like muscle cars and assumed muscle cars would be OP like in Carbon (I havent played an NFS game between Carbon and Heat)
