Hi yes exactly when a need for speed game like unbound need updates to have u1 and 2 350z and skyline r34 gtr cars that heat already have is not a good game.
not really i think the fundamentals and mechanics of unbound are better. grip turning is truly advanced and the best the series has seen. handling is truly something that requires some time to master, like it should be. the netcode for unbound is better, and the game is a lot more detailed. the online with its car list and updates is truly incredible. heat is good but unbound is a technological leap and that makes it better.
For me, Heat was a modern throwback take to Underground 2. Both my favorites of the franchise. Good points raised in the video. It's also a shame EA didn't seem to want to promote Heat all that much...when it's their best modern NFS title.
They didn't promote it cus they physically couldn't... something on their side just stopped working and they couldn't update the game anymore which is why when you reach the end of the map you can still see unfinished buildings and roads. That's cus they were going to update the game and add all of that but couldnt cus..once again.. somethin broke on their side
If unbound took the money earning mechanism from heat it wouldve been one of the best need for speeds ever. I found myself playing heat for HOURS a day without a break, one of the best need for speeds ever.
But the better thing in NFS HEAT is that the player only lose half of the cash on nighttime session when "BUSTED" and the player can still earn REP POINTS.
I think the reason racing is illegal at night is bc civilians roam the streets and you might cause an accident (lore reasons), the racing scene by day is legal because the city has a history of street racing or something. This is why i find heat better than unbound, cop chases become very annoying.
The racing in day is legal because the fucking Speedhunters Festival is in town? were you even paying attention?? Unbound cops aren't even annoying but rather annoyingly easy, if you can evade cops in Heat then cops in Unbound shouldnt be annoying.
I started playing 2 weeks ago and it's one of the best racing games i ever played. It definitely needed more time in the oven, though, because the story feels rushed and the only way to get away from cops - especially when you're just starting out - are through jumps and cheese spots. In fact, i nearly rage quitted altogether because i didn't know this, it just felt like the cops were impossible to evade. Driving a JDM icon, like me? You're screwed. Driving an old BMW? You're screwed. Driving a Mustang Boss? You're less screwed. Eventually, i found a plausible explanation for why they're so hard to wreck and now i'm fine with them. Those are COP CARS, they are made to take and give hits. In the meantime, ours is just a normal road car, it was not made for combat. But jumps and glitches (cheese spots) being the only way to evade them still feels wrong. A few pursuit breakers here and there would be nice. Still, in other games when i got in a police chase, i would feel annoyed because they felt like they were just there to get in my way and sometimes i would engage them ON PURPOSE just to have a few laughs. In Heat, i avoid them at all costs, because i feel scared. Yeah, i know to evade them: jumps and cheese spots. The problem is getting to those before you get wrecked into oblivion The festival feels... non-existent. Until you start a race. I've been driving around for quite sometimes and i'm yet to find anything throughout Palm City that even remotely gives the idea that a car festival exists. As for the AI being slow, that is because they don't have rubber-banding, hence why there may be a 235 performance rating car in a 200 race.
Ill take "slow" AI over Rubber-banding bullshit AI anyday. Rubber banding can work but most games I played overdue it and I find myself struggling to keep up... But when I play the Mutiplayer aspects of it I can get a nice gap for players behind me. And there is some High heat races that honestly might have them but I mainly race in a C6 corvette which isn't the fastest car in the game, but it's really quick.

As a person who enjoyed the OG games (MW,Carbon,Prostreet, etc.) I never thought I'd find an enjoyable Need for Speed ever again, yet this game did just that for me. While the storyline was questionable at best, it was so much fun to play, and it didn't feel like it was necessary to spend more money to progress than just having the base game. It was a huge upgrade from the other recent releases they've put out - it genuinely felt great. Then I bought Unbound, was hit in my face with 50 offers for some DLCs (Volumes they call them) which would unlock cars - an art style that matches Mario Kart more than a Need For Speed game, and a storyline which is worse than Heat's (the only bad thing about Heat imo). Hopefully they take Heat as an example for the new game when it comes out instead of Unbound...
Bro I can’t play unbound at all because of that garbage cartoon art style, for some reason everybody else think it’s so good but it’s the only game I couldn’t even force myself to play
One of the biggest tragedies of the rather short story is the fact that they had a whole cover car with that yellow Polestar only to chuck it off of a bridge in the prologue and then they just bring back the damn M3 back by the end of the game.

NFS Heat was my favorite racing game since Midnight Club LA. And I thought it was majorly successful, so imagine my surprise when the next NFS game is Unbound which is…not a sequel??? I mean maybe they play and defer similar but the whole animated thing they did felt like they were trying to capitalize off of Spider-Verse or something instead of making a sequel to the best racing game of the entire 2010’s. I never gave Unbound a try but maybe I will in the future. But Heat? The customization, the car selection, the cops, the night/day dynamic, hell even the story was actually good-this game did just about everything right. The soundtrack wasn’t the greatest but what game these days has one on the level of those old 2000’s games? NFS Heat was the game that I’d been waiting on for years as a PlayStation guy.
I love how Night in Heat feels like Escape From Tarkov, where you do stuff, and extract, or, try to get more rewards at the risk of loosing it all.. i hated that the only way i could enjoy this game was with the Unite Mod
Tbh I miss the nitrous sound of the older titles, the new backfire and exhaust customizer options are cool, but man, I'd kill to hear the old nitrous in a new game.
I just started playing Heat and I love it so far. Closest to Most Wanted game. Granted I haven’t played much of the new NFS games but this game is fun so far
For me the most fun aspect was the multiplayer night racing with friends. It substitutes for the way too easy to beat npcs and makes being chased by cops with a friend is a lot more fun. I still do think that the cop system could be made better with more aggressive cops and better mechanics (so that you can't ditch cops by driving over a small ramp)
The reason we don't get the same rush from nfs is coz of music... we need some hard-core metal music to race with also we need a good villain to conquer
Still the best modern NFS, way better then Unbound I played Unbound through game pass and I got bored quickly only after an 1 hour playing Got back to Heat and racing at night for me was really addictive
damn i really thought this would have more views while i was watching, thought i was watching a popular youtuber even lol, good work dude! (i also got the 69th like lmao nice)
The only two problems i have is one the league was hyped up you become a member and that's it no special races just nothing and secondly Anna never recognizing that because of us she got to join the league something she tried to join but never could because she was never a good racer to get in but makes it look like it was a team effort but it was not.
I got this game on disc when it originally came out, I stopped playing it because I sucked at it and I was stuck on the same story mode race. I grew up, got better, and knew more. I beat the game late last year (2023) It was a great game, had more potential, could’ve been better, should’ve been better.
jesus christ its already been 5 years but anyway, this game is probably in my top favorite games, i loved everything in it, the cars, the story, the gameplay, the aesthetic, the cops, everything this game is what made me like the night.
i started out on payback and viewed heat as a bad game- i was mistaken, i've recently gotten the platinum trophy on heat, heat is actually a really great game, the money is pretty easy to come by to get cars, the cops are actually a challenge (sometimes, better then payback for sure) the map is really beautiful even tho its half what was originally to be, but its better then being around nothing but sand... heat is just awesome even today
I paid 3 dollars on this game when it went on sale. Even though it's a chump change for the price I paid it felt like I did not get my 3 dollars worth of purchase. I had more fun with Payback than this.
Ah my favorite need for speed game. Not gonna lie i love heat, probably the only need for speed game I've ever 100%ed. I am a simple casual arcade racer enjoyer but i gotta say Heat has had me hooked since my best friend got me into it in 2022. It was a pretty good and fun 25th anniversary game for NFS
i know MW 2012 is loved by many now but when it dropped i wasnt interested in that or the next 3 nfs titles. Heat i think brought me back even if for a little while. underrated.
my only gripe with the day-time visuals besides the vegetation is the ambient occlusion... or the lack thereof. cars just look like they float above the tarmac which is just so infuriating for a game that came out in 2019 when even gta 5 on the ps3 got that right
Right. NFS Heat is good I admit. But, there may be a few more flaws that you missed or didn't know to point out. There are more flaws in general gameplay, like curbs. NFS Heat's overall vehicle handling reacts really badly to curbs. At high speeds at least. And due to this, travelling over numerous curbs at over 200mph will cause your car to "clip" which means the suspension or splitter is interacting with the ground/floor when it shouldn't and when it does, it causes the car to react in such a way that'll make it jump up and then have its front bumper collide with the ground/road at an angle that makes the car flip around and take damage from it. Which can ruin the flow of racing at high speeds entirely. This, and understeer. The grip handling in this game can be so stiff to drive even with the right setup that you're forced to drift pretty much every single corner, because if you don't, you don't turn so you'll be put off course with no proper reason why other than the handling is a big problem at high speeds in NFS Heat. This (minus the handling understeer) can also correspond to Cop chases, NFS Heat has a lack of crash cams unlike NFS Unbound, which is good, right? Well, yes, and no. NFS Heat's lack of violent or unnecessary crash cams from hard collisions is the good part, but then, the overall reaction times from accidentally crashing and landing upside down or sideways take forever, that's the bad part. As far as I know, on consoles at least, there's literally a pitch black loading screen that can take 30 seconds to reset you back on your wheels. And what does Cop chases have to do with this? Cop chases are a factor in this because at night you can enter a Cop chase at any time with a Heat Level any higher than Heat Level 1 without the ability to pay a fine, and due to the lack of crash cams but terrible reaction times from said lack of crash cams, you'll have at least 1 random Cop unit that finds you if you're not in a Cop chase already, because of the loading screen, you are almost 100% guaranteed of getting busted because of the pitch black loading screen I mentioned before. Meaning that even just somehow landing on your side from a collision or a "clip", you'll lose a lot of your REP plus some money from it. Which would really suck in the long run if you're a newer player trying to grind for REP at night or just looking for ways to earn a lot of REP in one night session for the sake of it. Which can dwindle the experience. This is one thing that NFS Unbound's crash cams do right, because while the way they're caused is annoying, at least their react times (minus the new manual reset feature they added fairly recently) are fairly fast that nothing bad or game-breaking while just waiting for your car to be back on its wheels will happen. In addition, there is a flaw that corresponds with the car roster itself, there is no incentive to play using other cars once you've maxed out one car outside of just playing with other cars for the sake of them. This is another thing that NFS Unbound does right, because it has a Class/Tier system that gives a motive, a reason to have multiple cars in your garage and to upgrade them. But for NFS Heat, because of a lack of a proper feature or reason to own multiple cars and use them during a session can make almost the entire car list just become useless. Another flaw is that the Cops, even at night, has a glitch caused I think from server lag where they go completely braindead. Like worse than NFS 2015 or NFS Unbound AI Cops-like braindead. At random times, they'll just let you escape like you don't even exist, even if you're right in front of them, and then even if you're right behind them, in front of them, beside them, they don't initiate another chase like they should. Which is very strange. Because even if you physically hit them even to the point you take damage, they just ignore you like you're a ghost that you think you're alive. Because as bad as NFS 2015 and NFS Unbound's Cops are, this doesn't happen at all. One more flaw, the online multiplayer is (almost) completely dead. It can be so lifeless as an online multiplayer mode that trying to race with other players in a public server, other than your friends, no one will accept your races. Like 99.9999999% of the time, no one will accept your races, let alone even see other players while free-roaming and cruising or being chased, hell, you can't even find other players on the mini-map a lot of the time. Which is very odd because NFS Payback's online multiplayer features an AllDrive multiplayer system, as well as Speedlists which exists so you can enter a full lobby of players with ease (apart from nowadays of course because the game itself is pretty much dead). But damn did NFS Payback's online multiplayer be so good back then (and now NFS Unbound's online multiplayer has PVP which does the same thing). This flaw right here is why Criterion Games made the decision to separate the singleplayer and Lakeshore Online garages in NFS Unbound, and soully because the NFS Heat online multiplayer is so dead and useless that Criterion Games just wanted to have NFS Unbound be more of an online multiplayer focused game which is why most of the new NFS Unbound content are Lakeshore Online exclusive. But other than those, NFS Heat is a fairly solid game. However, due to the issues that you may have missed or didn't know about, are what may had held NFS Heat back from being one of the best NFS games in the NFS franchise as a whole. Not just modern NFS, the *ENTIRE* NFS franchise. Bear in mind, all these flaws I've mentioned are what happened from my personal experience playing NFS Heat. Oh and NFS Heat is locked at a 30fps cap on consoles (even next-gen consoles) and PC (minus mods that unlock the fps cap). Which isn't necessarily a major flaw, but it's another thing worth mentioning. P.S. Sorry for the long English essay lol. And I love your content! Keep it up! Loving it! Finger-lickin' good 👌🏻🤙🏻👍🏻❤
I've experienced alot of these issues in Payback too, the clipping and wait times I mean, I'm glad Criterion took alot of those into consideration because my experiences with Heat have been awful. This game is all style but not much else, the gameplay was pretty fun for a while but got boring fast after finishing the short story. I'm glad Unbound came when it did though because it was a breath of fresh air, it doesn't feel like another Payback and it fixed a ton of the issues I kept having to face in Payback and Heat.
I forgot to add, the daytime was just awful so I always played at night but after getting all of the volatile parts I had no real reason to play it, I had to play in the daytime to make money so I just lost interest.
That part about unbound story and online being separated you summed it up perfectly I got heat in 2021 and bro online was dead I have like 140 hours on heat and I think I only done like 50 online races in that time with people others times it was just me or palm city raceway and nothing else and in unbound I always at least have like 1 other person to race with
A lot of what you said is just your personal opinion. Almost all of your gripes and more are fixed with the Unite mod. Fixes "clipping", makes all cars very usable even after endgame because every one of them have different handling and top speed, cops revamped and makes it fun to explore all the options The car flipping and staying like that for a long time is actually good punishment for driving bad and is totally ok when "clipping" is not the cause of it, so use the mod Online multi is not as dead as you make it out to be. People are in their garage tuning their cars or in a chase. From my experience I have at least 1-2 guys joining my races
Nfs heat has a soft spot with me, being my first triple a game I have every played. The game is severely underrated and never got the post release updates it deserved.
1:05 its impressive how NFS 2015 has a isnane realistic world cenario graphics 5:15 raining half the time? In fact it rains 70 - 80% of the time on night runs
I just wish the story would’ve focused on the league after Mercer. Definitely could’ve made it more enjoyable. Story was a little dumb but just making it longer would’ve gone a long way.
I still do aquick jump on the mall roof from the garage beside it. I forgot the name of the location but its guaranteed to o lose heat 5 cops with ease
Also heat not simply ending after you do the story is great. There's still cars and parts to unlock leaving plenty to do. After that you just do anything you want
One thing I wish Heat has is DLSS, FSR or XeSS support. But alas, they only implement upscaling in Unbound. Now don't get me wrong, the game is able to run fine in Ultra on my RTX 4050 Laptop with constant 60FPS (with occassional performance dip here and there). But I wished it could use upscaling to run at a better FPS.
There is an app on Steam called Lossless Scaling, which I've heard a few tech TH-camrs talk about. I'm not totally sure how it works, but it supposedly increases your framerate. But yeah man, I still wish we could inject DLSS into our games
For me personally, heat is better then unbound
Yeah for me it was definitely a step in the right direction and if it got the updates it deserved it would be the best modern NFS no question
I honestly can't say. Heat was abandoned too fast for me to compare it to unbound
Hi yes exactly when a need for speed game like unbound need updates to have u1 and 2 350z and skyline r34 gtr cars that heat already have is not a good game.

Kinda a stretch currently because Unbound has 2 times more content than heat.

Still the best new gen nfs
great channel bro. subscribed. been playing heat as my first nfs after nfs carbon on psp
If heat had an longer story it would have been much better
I just started playing Heat and I love it so far. Closest to Most Wanted game. Granted I haven’t played much of the new NFS games but this game is fun so far
Loved the narration btw, poetic, jokes landed and kept me engaged, earned a sub
Thanks man, glad you enjoyed it!
Had way more fun playing this game than I thought I would
Heat was a step forward to getting NFS back on track and then they released Unbound and took 100 steps backwards 🤦
Unbound: for daddy's son
Heat: for daddy 🎉😂😂😂😂
I still play heat 4-5 years later and I still love it
The reason we don't get the same rush from nfs is coz of music... we need some hard-core metal music to race with also we need a good villain to conquer
Still the best modern NFS, way better then Unbound
I played Unbound through game pass and I got bored quickly only after an 1 hour playing
Got back to Heat and racing at night for me was really addictive
@@shadowknight9395 Have you been following all the NFS Unbound content and news though? Just wondering.
damn i really thought this would have more views while i was watching, thought i was watching a popular youtuber even lol, good work dude! (i also got the 69th like lmao nice)
Thanks man, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
The only two problems i have is one the league was hyped up you become a member and that's it no special races just nothing and secondly Anna never recognizing that because of us she got to join the league something she tried to join but never could because she was never a good racer to get in but makes it look like it was a team effort but it was not.
nice video bro, your channel is underrated for sure
EA really shit the bed shutting down the studio after this game, shows how bad their management is.
still playing NFSHeat, just for the feeling of carbon and mostwanted'05
I got this game on disc when it originally came out, I stopped playing it because I sucked at it and I was stuck on the same story mode race. I grew up, got better, and knew more. I beat the game late last year (2023)
It was a great game, had more potential, could’ve been better, should’ve been better.
Best video ending ever please do this again LOLLLL
Not to mention, AAO FULL is broken in the game. If you want the car wheels to look better in day time, use HBAO for AMBIENT OCCLUSION
One of the reasons the game looks so bad specially during the day in the lack of ambient occlusion. The car just floating is distracting af
This game is so much fun. I wish I had played multiplayer more with my little brother.
jesus christ its already been 5 years
but anyway, this game is probably in my top favorite games, i loved everything in it, the cars, the story, the gameplay, the aesthetic, the cops, everything
this game is what made me like the night.
Awesome review keep it up!
I miss this game. Nfs heat and mw2019 carried me thru the covid lockdown
i started out on payback and viewed heat as a bad game- i was mistaken, i've recently gotten the platinum trophy on heat, heat is actually a really great game, the money is pretty easy to come by to get cars, the cops are actually a challenge (sometimes, better then payback for sure) the map is really beautiful even tho its half what was originally to be, but its better then being around nothing but sand... heat is just awesome even today
Me and my friends have been playing this A LOT over the past 2 weeks and we love it...just small things that make it annoying but it's not that bad
VERY well produced video, surprised you're under 2k subs ngl. Any chance you'll make a video on Rivals or 2015?
Thanks man, it means a lot! I'm currently working on some videos for some other games, but I will eventually get to the other NFS titles as well.
I paid 3 dollars on this game when it went on sale. Even though it's a chump change for the price I paid it felt like I did not get my 3 dollars worth of purchase. I had more fun with Payback than this.
if only they gave heat the amount of support that unbound got
I still play, just finished the story a few days ago, wish the story was longer
Bruno Bucciarati Aproves
What's more great about this game is that it always had a big discount on steam. I was surprised when it got 95% off
I cant believe its been 5
Ah my favorite need for speed game. Not gonna lie i love heat, probably the only need for speed game I've ever 100%ed. I am a simple casual arcade racer enjoyer but i gotta say Heat has had me hooked since my best friend got me into it in 2022. It was a pretty good and fun 25th anniversary game for NFS
Need to add (Mitsubishi Eclipse 1995-1999, 2000-2005, 2006-2012) (Toyota Supra 1993-1999 only,the Mr2 2003.)
Heat with the Unite mod is just soo good, it might be up there with the NFS top dogs. I have around 50 different save files from replaying the game
This will be classic just like Underground 2 and MW,one of the better NFS games :D
The only daytime sprint races are ones from the race and off-road campaign
i know MW 2012 is loved by many now but when it dropped i wasnt interested in that or the next 3 nfs titles. Heat i think brought me back even if for a little while. underrated.
My HEAT love
I wish they had more selection for JDM cars, seems like it was mainly just basic ferrari cars and bmws
my only gripe with the day-time visuals besides the vegetation is the ambient occlusion... or the lack thereof. cars just look like they float above the tarmac which is just so infuriating for a game that came out in 2019 when even gta 5 on the ps3 got that right
Is it me, or do I like the desaturation of the map? It feels realistic. Yes, our world isn't as colorful as you might've thought it was.
Fixes "clipping", makes all cars very usable even after endgame because every one of them have different handling and top speed, cops revamped and makes it fun to explore all the options
The car flipping and staying like that for a long time is actually good punishment for driving bad and is totally ok when "clipping" is not the cause of it, so use the mod
Online multi is not as dead as you make it out to be. People are in their garage tuning their cars or in a chase. From my experience I have at least 1-2 guys joining my races
@@kei1880 you know a game is good when you need a mod to fix clipping issues.
Heat will be goated if the story is as long and as good as OG most wanted
Just downloaded it again after a few years for the brappp brappp
Nfs heat has a soft spot with me, being my first triple a game I have every played. The game is severely underrated and never got the post release updates it deserved.
This game is already 5 years old
Damn
Great vid
I just 100% the game 5 minutes ago. I agree with everything that was stated in this video. 👍
1:05 its impressive how NFS 2015 has a isnane realistic world cenario graphics
5:15 raining half the time? In fact it rains 70 - 80% of the time on night runs
I'm ngl, bros cars look sick
I just wish the story would’ve focused on the league after Mercer. Definitely could’ve made it more enjoyable. Story was a little dumb but just making it longer would’ve gone a long way.
You forget how insane to cops are in Heat
I still do aquick jump on the mall roof from the garage beside it. I forgot the name of the location but its guaranteed to o lose heat 5 cops with ease
Also heat not simply ending after you do the story is great.
There's still cars and parts to unlock leaving plenty to do. After that you just do anything you want
Never will be a second Most Wanted. Period.
No one cares
I still don't understand why EA abandoned Heat very quickly, it was very good comeback to the series and they flopped again with unbound
Bro this is 3 DOLLARS on ps store
this caught me so off guard 11:59
The only thing I disagree with is the day time not every day is absolute piercing sun vibrance like in real life and plus I like the rain
Dude do yourself a favor and install Heat Unite
heat just need more updates, more tracks, more cars, and some minor fixes.
Hey! If you want a challenge, play with a car below the "recommended" rating. It's quite rewarding.
How didn't you cover the high heat races, which for me are the best part of the game, after the cops of course
The soundtrack in this game is so bad i had to turn off music.
