It's just not what I and most people expected. I feel like a lot of us heard "origin story of Optimus and Megatron" and thought "freedom fighters against the Cybertronian slave trade," not, "Transformers in the MCU."
Exactly! Dark and Light Transformers can coexist, should coexist, and in fact have been coexisting for years now! Look what we have currently: Dark tone with the Skybound comics and the Reactivate game, in-between with the Reboot live-action movies, and light-hearted with Earthspark. There's zero reason for the complaints being given towards ONE, and by the statements regarding the train scene at Cinemacon and the Test Screenings, this might just be the best Transformers project ever made! Until we see for ourselves, let's give this a chance cuz it looks super promising!
This is the TF movie I’ve been wanting. An origin of Optimus, Megatron, and the rise of the Decepticons. I just hope this spurs two more for a War on Cybertron film and Fall of Cybertron film
This is apparently a trilogy of films. This helps establish and set the foundations of Cybertronian history. The next two films (depending on how well this movie does) will become darker as the eventual civil war causes the schism that will shake their society to it's core.
That Elita-one scene went badass as hell! I am genuinely curious about her dynamic with Orion pax and Megatron is gonna be like, I am glad she got the spotlight!
I AM SOLD!!! I love them finally exploring how Optimus and Megatron went from brothers/friends to mortal enemies at war. Their origin from the IDW comics has amazing potential for a compelling and nuanced story that we don't usually see in the movies. The fact that this is part 1 of a 3 part trilogy especially has me HYPED. I didn't expect to love Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tee Henry as Optimus and Megatron, but they sound amazing for these roles, especially as their younger selves. They can really show the gripping origin of both how they went down different paths for better or worse (similar to the story of Moses and Ramese or Magneto and Professor X) and how the Cybertronian War began, The animation looks SO CLEAN!!!

Unlike most people I actually like the focus on D-16 and Orion’s friendship tho as of RN I’m not a big fan on Bumblebee’s portrayal, regardless I think it’ll be great there’s still going to be serious elements as we see but we get a fun little origin story mixed in and I think it’ll be better than everyone is expecting
Well it is a completely different continuity as far as I know. May be wrong although, so yeah they can portay B-127 in any way shape or form and turn him from what he is a cute puppy dog looking for a home like in the new live-action reboot universe and make him the comic relief for the new continuity. Which is welcome at least in my opinion. Besides, this is what is happening on Cybertron before the war, so yeah of course Bumblebee may wanna act like a child for comic relief. It's another way of building up great character for the Stinger himself 💙❤💛
I’ve been seeing some speculation that if this is really is going to be the start of a trilogy, that bumblebee might be being built up to be the chatterbox of the group so that in a later movie he loses his voice when Megatron rips it out. That would be dark as hell imo, but I feel like for a second movie it would really be a great way to show that Megatron is no longer the D-16 they knew
I love that Orion was very lively, and optimistic (no pun intended) while D-16 was mature, uptight but holds a lot of potential. Really love their dyanmic but saddened that they will fall out. Their voices really fit well, hope they brought in Peter Cullen and Frank Welker for the ending to show that OP and Megatron have aged with wisdom and strength, would make sense for Megs to eventually get Frank's voice probably due to his time in the gladiatorial pits of Kaon probably a result of injuries or shouting out commands and debates overtime
I'm an old guy, a TF fan since '84 when I was 6. I'm in. Looks like the potential to be a really good time. Action, humor, character development, great visual design.
I kind of wish they would’ve had Elita-1 to have an aerial alt-mode just like her Power of the Primes toy instead of a motorcycle mode because it feels more like Studio Series Bumblebee Arcee than it feels like Elita-1. Overall, I’m looking forward to this movie and I’m loving how Elita-1 has been getting treated lately with being the second-in-command of the Autobots in EarthSpark, as well as having a great design in the series, and comes off as a badass in this movie with her roundhousing a trooper and kicking a gun up afterwards.
Yeah, love their approach of Elita-one so far and like the idea of her having a aerial alt-mode in the future but I hope maybe we see more Og female transformers in the movie as well, but this is a trailer, so I will wait!
I love movies like this, in CGI or animation. I have the resident evil movies in the CGI style and two of starship troopers in the CGI style as well. Both are great and now transformer one and the style too. It's awesome. Thank you for doing this reaction, I enjoyed watching
I’m genuinely excited for this film and more importantly I don’t understand the fickle fans who are hating on this movie cause it’s animated or too humorous or the faces are off. I’m just happy we’re getting another good transformers movie that focuses on the transformers and not the humans
Im a hardcore transformers fan, and i think this looks good. I think it would be better if it was a darker tone, but im beyond satisfied with this film!
That is not Tarn nor a statue. When wee see Alpha Trion in his cavern we can spot corpses, one being the Onyx prime that gives the implications that the rest of the corses do belong to the other primes who Alpha Trion is guarding. What you see on that specific frame is most definetly the corpse of the Fallen.
Glad to see the reaction of an actual Transformers fan, rather than reactors who say they're hardcore fans but have either only watched the Bay-verse TFs or haven't actually watched anything but have vague memories of G1. I think as TF fans, you gotta eventually learn to adapt, because so many TF series go off in wildly different directions from one another, like from Bay-verse to Animated to Prime to RiD and Rescue Bots. It's a massive ping ponging of tones and styles. And it's nice to see someone who recognizes the designs, like realizing the tentacles probably belong to the Quinntessons (I reckon they're the big bad), the Vehicons and like you, I marked out for Airachnid.
So excited for this movie! Love how we FINALLY get a full movie on Cybertron, and one fully animated at that! And it’s real fluid animation too at that, I didn’t expect it to be so expressive, but I quite like it! Was smiling the whole time while watching it, and it’s real interesting that they took the route/plotline that they live in a “layer caste” system with the different layers of Cybertron. And the VAs all sound pretty good too, Hemsworth especially was almost seamless to me, actually forgot that he was even voicing in it till the end. And that goes for the other VAs too, there’s real chemistry there. Genuinely loving this breath of fresh air cinematic wise for Transformers, cause comic readers already get all of this, but I don’t think this plotline of caste system was ever explored in movies really? Can’t wait til it’s out!☺️
I can't help but feel like this movie is basically designed to bring normies, and new, younger fans into transformers. This may be the shot in the arm tf media needs after all of the lackluster...stuff, we've been getting for the past decade. It reminds me of a Pixar movie. Both in comedic tone, as well as visually. I'm good with what we've seen so far, and I am definitely gonna give this a chance!

Definitely. It feels like they went for a more Aligned continuity story line where the quints are using cybertronians for labor and "pulling the strings" in a sense.
I hope the actual film will balance the comedy with more serious scenes as well. The trailer was a bit too much for me in that regard, but I'm still curious!

This looks fucking fantastic; not what I was expecting at all, and I am here for it wholeheartedly. I'm a huge fan of silliness for Transformers. I'm there day one.
I like that Bumblebee gets his G1 Toy "Battle Mask" and has his War For/Fall Of Cybertron energon blades. Elita-1 sounds good, and I would have preferred a sleeker car alt mode, rather than a Tron-style bike. Megatron's "H-Tank" mode was expected, but his voice is pretty awful and way out of character then I'm used too. Kind of like how Beast Wars Megatron was in comparison to G1, you know? Were there rumors Idris Elba was supposed to be Megs? He should have been cast. Jason Momoa would have worked too. Orion Pax/Optimus Prime looks and sounds pretty good. Nice alt mode as we've seen the toy from the Amazon preorders, so I like the blend of Siege/FOC/Cyberverse and Animated to his truck and robot modes. No offense to the person playing him, who did very good, but it is so frustrating that Dan Gilvezan could not have been cast as Bumblebee, just one more time on the big screen, you know? The animation looks absolutely stunning!!! It certainly is not in the tone of the seriousness and adult animation that the War For Cybertron Siege/Earthrise/Kingdom Trilogy on Netflix was, but this Movie looks better than I expected, so it may be a fun romp! Keep up the good work, bro! 👊😎🍻
The quintessions made me think this movie is actually in age of wraith not golden age but we'll just have to wait and see. Still really love the designs
Honestly I'm very close to being very hyped for it. Interesting that it's animated. A bit odd it's getting some hate due to it being animated. Hemsworth as Prime is interesting but I honestly am liking it. The Other voices are good. Considering me being in the theater when it comes out
7:22 I think the reasoning is likely because most depictions of Cybertron are barren and lifeless in certain areas, and with how they mentioned the surface with hesitation before, I’d assume it’s adding more “natural” elements to cybertron. Which I’m cool with. It’s an interesting concept, and hopefully we get a better explanation of Cybertron and its history in this film. Theres a lot of elements that are different, such them not being able to transform until Alpha Trion presents the T-Cogs. Which I don’t think was ever included in previous origin stories

Not at all what I expected but not in a bad way, I’ll give it a chance - it’s aimed at a younger audience evidently but may be a fun watch we’ll have to see. And pre-war/post-war stuff is always interesting to me especially with how they might be factoring in transforming into Cybertron’s culture/society in some way (which really worked in IDW imo), like the miners/labourers can’t transform by the looks of it
Oh please, many fans were so annoying this last couple of years saying that we should've an Optimus that laughs and jokes because they were "tired" of the serious Optimus, and now that we are getting an Orion that is funny (which is the closest thing to what most of you wanted) you all are mad? Before Bumblebee, the only Transformers film I ever saw in theaters was Revenge of the Fallen. (And it was a Drive in Theater too!) But when Bumblebee came out, I was all in on seeing that in theaters! And I now own it both on digital and Blu-Ray! And as soon as I have enough money, I’m buying Rise of the Beasts too! And with this being animated, AND done in a way that still evokes the new live action film universe, I’m absolutely hyped for this!!! Im excited for the movie. Seen some people say it's too childish or kiddy looking, but y'all the franchise started as a kid's toy advert. It was always for the kids and it's just that there's grown kids from that era that can now put their ideas to reality that there's more stuff for adults and teens that want more fleshing out of the multiverse of transformers A stray thought came to mind, and now i just imagine the movie being the prequel to Earthspark. Megatron and Optimus' friendship and personalities here kinda match those in the show, so it wouldn't be a stretch of a hc XD
that crystal scene when they're on the train with the huge sun and purple landscape just looks stunning I'm very glad to see that kind of synthwave imagery in a feature film.. finally!!
I was expecting a much darker tone when it came to a prequel movie. Not against a more comedic Transformers movie, but it's kinda funny to think about the fact that this movie is probably connected to the other live-action films.
Perhaps this sentiment will be shared by some of the older gamers among the TF fanbase, but I think most of us familiar with the War and Fall of Cybertron games will remember the pre-rendered, voice-acted cutscenes from those games. As a younger fella, I used to watch things like that and say to myself, wow, I wish someone, somewhere, would make a full feature-film based on the concepts and technology used to put together those cutscenes - or in shorthand, make a movie-length cutscene. There's just something about them that's always charmed me, and it never made sense that, if a studio had the means to do a few minutes, could they not do more? "But that's just film animation!" I guess technically that's true, but as many animated films as I've seen, it just didn't *feel* like that to me. And this does. This feels like a cutscene out of a Transformers game, but instead of switching to gameplay, it plays the whole story. Maybe it is just me, but I love that. And I'm excited to see it.
I'm so used to the comics and Primes origins of these characters that this feels....disappointing to me. I'm cool with comedic moments but what made Transformers great is it balances the comedic moments with the dark and gritty. Even G1 had dark moments
The title is most likely referencing the "till all are one" line as in this movie will show the Cybertronians uniting as one to free themselves from oppression
The comedy is too much like Disney at least g1 and beast wars were funny and it feels like they threw out all the source material bumblebee isn’t supposed to be born until the beginning of the war and Orion pax is supposed to be a scientist that meets megatron then they start a revolution against the government

Finally! Someone else is more positive on the trailer! Imo, I enjoyed it, overall; its great! The characters are really cool, so far! The VAs did a great job! Chris sounds great as Orion. I like the designs; they're cool! & the humor is definitely there; it lands most of the time! & its SUPER promising & has ALOT of potential! Its unreal! I really want to go see the movie when it comes out..SEPTEMBER 13th 2024, my birthday!!! Also, I've heard that its not gonna be a full-on comedy & will get alot more serious/"darker", when appropriate! Which is a good idea!!
The one change I would make is replace Bumblebee with Ironhide. I know Hasbro wouldn't dare do that but Ironhide needs something after having not alot to do after 2011/12. And I'm guessing they wanted the main 4 to not have colour overlap. Also it really does look like Ariel doesn't exist and Elita 1 is just Elita 1. I did also notice they used the movie decpeticon logo at 1:42. Weird choice. I do hope more autobots are gonna be in the movie and not have them be unceremoniously killed off. Overall I do want the movie to be good but something is telling me I won't like it. In September I guess we'll see.

The alleged pushback of dates has got something to do with the ridiculous Beetlejuice sequel. I loved the original when I was... 8 but I'll be 42 in September and I want nothing to do with the sequel. Why don't they just give Beetlejuice Beetlejuice the Halloween market all to itself?
Honestly, I'm not sure how to feel. I'd like to give it a proper chance when it comes out, but I am not really into the MCU-style humor. I know prior series, G1 especially had its own childish humor as kids shows, but I prefer the humor that doesn't dumb-down so-to-speak for kids. I kind-of wanted a full movie of what we got of Cybertron from the Bumblebee movie. I guess we'll see where this reboot animated film goes for the future of the franchise.
The ad for the movie popped up before this vid and I'm laughing the first few seconds in thanks to Orion Pax and D-16, this movie will be very funny and eventually heartbreaking when Orion and Megs fall out. I'm excited for this movie! The animation and enviroments look really good. Quintessons's design is interesting, it seems to be mix organic with mech. I wasn't expecting Starscream to show up but I'm not complaining. He probably isn't going to have big role in the movie but I'm just happy he shows up. (i'm really coping that Steve Blum is gonna voice him lol) The shot when the main gang is standing in front of sunset reminds me so much of vaporwave sunset
The humanoid faces were probably made for simplicity and for the expressions, in the older movies, the faces were not a big issue since there were many scenes with just the cars and humans, but in an entire 3D animated movie, faces made like in the movie, though more realistic and iconic, would both be very expensive and annoying to animate, and get old to watch real quick.

Im a hardcore transformers fan, and i think this looks good. I think it would be better if it was a darker tone, but im beyond satisfied with this film!

That is not Tarn nor a statue. When wee see Alpha Trion in his cavern we can spot corpses, one being the Onyx prime that gives the implications that the rest of the corses do belong to the other primes who Alpha Trion is guarding. What you see on that specific frame is most definetly the corpse of the Fallen.
Yeah that Ain't Tarn... It could be the Fallen.. I mean he's bigger.. And since Tarn transforms into a tank he's probably more smaller.

Glad to see the reaction of an actual Transformers fan, rather than reactors who say they're hardcore fans but have either only watched the Bay-verse TFs or haven't actually watched anything but have vague memories of G1. I think as TF fans, you gotta eventually learn to adapt, because so many TF series go off in wildly different directions from one another, like from Bay-verse to Animated to Prime to RiD and Rescue Bots. It's a massive ping ponging of tones and styles. And it's nice to see someone who recognizes the designs, like realizing the tentacles probably belong to the Quinntessons (I reckon they're the big bad), the Vehicons and like you, I marked out for Airachnid.

So excited for this movie! Love how we FINALLY get a full movie on Cybertron, and one fully animated at that! And it’s real fluid animation too at that, I didn’t expect it to be so expressive, but I quite like it!
Was smiling the whole time while watching it, and it’s real interesting that they took the route/plotline that they live in a “layer caste” system with the different layers of Cybertron.
And the VAs all sound pretty good too, Hemsworth especially was almost seamless to me, actually forgot that he was even voicing in it till the end. And that goes for the other VAs too, there’s real chemistry there. Genuinely loving this breath of fresh air cinematic wise for Transformers, cause comic readers already get all of this, but I don’t think this plotline of caste system was ever explored in movies really? Can’t wait til it’s out!☺️
I can't help but feel like this movie is basically designed to bring normies, and new, younger fans into transformers. This may be the shot in the arm tf media needs after all of the lackluster...stuff, we've been getting for the past decade. It reminds me of a Pixar movie. Both in comedic tone, as well as visually. I'm good with what we've seen so far, and I am definitely gonna give this a chance!

So my theory so far is the Quintessons stole the t cogs from the cybertronians and only higher ups get them like what looks like Sentinel Prime

Definitely. It feels like they went for a more Aligned continuity story line where the quints are using cybertronians for labor and "pulling the strings" in a sense.
I hope the actual film will balance the comedy with more serious scenes as well. The trailer was a bit too much for me in that regard, but I'm still curious!

I like that Bumblebee gets his G1 Toy "Battle Mask" and has his War For/Fall Of Cybertron energon blades.
Elita-1 sounds good, and I would have preferred a sleeker car alt mode, rather than a Tron-style bike.
Megatron's "H-Tank" mode was expected, but his voice is pretty awful and way out of character then I'm used too. Kind of like how Beast Wars Megatron was in comparison to G1, you know? Were there rumors Idris Elba was supposed to be Megs? He should have been cast. Jason Momoa would have worked too.
Orion Pax/Optimus Prime looks and sounds pretty good. Nice alt mode as we've seen the toy from the Amazon preorders, so I like the blend of Siege/FOC/Cyberverse and Animated to his truck and robot modes.
No offense to the person playing him, who did very good, but it is so frustrating that Dan Gilvezan could not have been cast as Bumblebee, just one more time on the big screen, you know? The animation looks absolutely stunning!!! It certainly is not in the tone of the seriousness and adult animation that the War For Cybertron Siege/Earthrise/Kingdom Trilogy on Netflix was, but this Movie looks better than I expected, so it may be a fun romp!

7:22 I think the reasoning is likely because most depictions of Cybertron are barren and lifeless in certain areas, and with how they mentioned the surface with hesitation before, I’d assume it’s adding more “natural” elements to cybertron. Which I’m cool with. It’s an interesting concept, and hopefully we get a better explanation of Cybertron and its history in this film. Theres a lot of elements that are different, such them not being able to transform until Alpha Trion presents the T-Cogs. Which I don’t think was ever included in previous origin stories

Not at all what I expected but not in a bad way, I’ll give it a chance - it’s aimed at a younger audience evidently but may be a fun watch we’ll have to see. And pre-war/post-war stuff is always interesting to me especially with how they might be factoring in transforming into Cybertron’s culture/society in some way (which really worked in IDW imo), like the miners/labourers can’t transform by the looks of it

Bayverse is completely gone there is the new reboot universe and this one is either in the reboot universe or its own thing

Before Bumblebee, the only Transformers film I ever saw in theaters was Revenge of the Fallen. (And it was a Drive in Theater too!)
But when Bumblebee came out, I was all in on seeing that in theaters! And I now own it both on digital and Blu-Ray!
And as soon as I have enough money, I’m buying Rise of the Beasts too!
And with this being animated, AND done in a way that still evokes the new live action film universe, I’m absolutely hyped for this!!!

Im excited for the movie. Seen some people say it's too childish or kiddy looking, but y'all the franchise started as a kid's toy advert. It was always for the kids and it's just that there's grown kids from that era that can now put their ideas to reality that there's more stuff for adults and teens that want more fleshing out of the multiverse of transformers
A stray thought came to mind, and now i just imagine the movie being the prequel to Earthspark. Megatron and Optimus' friendship and personalities here kinda match those in the show, so it wouldn't be a stretch of a hc XD

I was expecting a much darker tone when it came to a prequel movie. Not against a more comedic Transformers movie, but it's kinda funny to think about the fact that this movie is probably connected to the other live-action films.
Perhaps this sentiment will be shared by some of the older gamers among the TF fanbase, but I think most of us familiar with the War and Fall of Cybertron games will remember the pre-rendered, voice-acted cutscenes from those games. As a younger fella, I used to watch things like that and say to myself, wow, I wish someone, somewhere, would make a full feature-film based on the concepts and technology used to put together those cutscenes - or in shorthand, make a movie-length cutscene. There's just something about them that's always charmed me, and it never made sense that, if a studio had the means to do a few minutes, could they not do more? "But that's just film animation!" I guess technically that's true, but as many animated films as I've seen, it just didn't *feel* like that to me. And this does. This feels like a cutscene out of a Transformers game, but instead of switching to gameplay, it plays the whole story.
Maybe it is just me, but I love that. And I'm excited to see it.
I'm so used to the comics and Primes origins of these characters that this feels....disappointing to me. I'm cool with comedic moments but what made Transformers great is it balances the comedic moments with the dark and gritty. Even G1 had dark moments

The comedy is too much like Disney at least g1 and beast wars were funny and it feels like they threw out all the source material bumblebee isn’t supposed to be born until the beginning of the war and Orion pax is supposed to be a scientist that meets megatron then they start a revolution against the government

Finally! Someone else is more positive on the trailer! Imo, I enjoyed it, overall; its great! The characters are really cool, so far! The VAs did a great job! Chris sounds great as Orion. I like the designs; they're cool! & the humor is definitely there; it lands most of the time! & its SUPER promising & has ALOT of potential! Its unreal! I really want to go see the movie when it comes out..SEPTEMBER 13th 2024, my birthday!!!
Also, I've heard that its not gonna be a full-on comedy & will get alot more serious/"darker", when appropriate! Which is a good idea!!
The one change I would make is replace Bumblebee with Ironhide. I know Hasbro wouldn't dare do that but Ironhide needs something after having not alot to do after 2011/12. And I'm guessing they wanted the main 4 to not have colour overlap. Also it really does look like Ariel doesn't exist and Elita 1 is just Elita 1. I did also notice they used the movie decpeticon logo at 1:42. Weird choice. I do hope more autobots are gonna be in the movie and not have them be unceremoniously killed off. Overall I do want the movie to be good but something is telling me I won't like it. In September I guess we'll see.
This is going to be the best film of the year. But why did they cast Chris Hemsworth if he is doing a voice? I'm glad he is, but then what's the point? And I don't like Megatron's voice.
The alleged pushback of dates has got something to do with the ridiculous Beetlejuice sequel. I loved the original when I was... 8 but I'll be 42 in September and I want nothing to do with the sequel. Why don't they just give Beetlejuice Beetlejuice the Halloween market all to itself?
It feels like Transformers by way of Pixar, which is fitting since ILM is what birthed Pixar in the first place.
Honestly, I'm not sure how to feel. I'd like to give it a proper chance when it comes out, but I am not really into the MCU-style humor. I know prior series, G1 especially had its own childish humor as kids shows, but I prefer the humor that doesn't dumb-down so-to-speak for kids. I kind-of wanted a full movie of what we got of Cybertron from the Bumblebee movie. I guess we'll see where this reboot animated film goes for the future of the franchise.
ILM did a fantastic job with Rango back in 2011, and it looks like they'll deliver here as well.
The ad for the movie popped up before this vid and I'm laughing the first few seconds in thanks to Orion Pax and D-16, this movie will be very funny and eventually heartbreaking when Orion and Megs fall out.
Also near the end of the vid, thanks for the reminder that a Optimus Prime/Orion Pax tier list will come out since you said it would be done once the Transformers One designs came out.

I'm excited for this movie! The animation and enviroments look really good. Quintessons's design is interesting, it seems to be mix organic with mech. I wasn't expecting Starscream to show up but I'm not complaining. He probably isn't going to have big role in the movie but I'm just happy he shows up. (i'm really coping that Steve Blum is gonna voice him lol)

The humanoid faces were probably made for simplicity and for the expressions, in the older movies, the faces were not a big issue since there were many scenes with just the cars and humans, but in an entire 3D animated movie, faces made like in the movie, though more realistic and iconic, would both be very expensive and annoying to animate, and get old to watch real quick.
I don't like Bumblebee face. I grew up with the Bumblebee from The Live Action transformers movies and seeing the mouth on him is an odd sight
