Another great honest review mate! I've not driven one, but (as you say) like the RS it's too loud for old man me haha. Hopefully get to drive one soon... Cheers man
Already sold, but thinking to by it back! Best car I ever had; I had it for two years with no problems. Maitenance cost are low and car is reliable in general. Highly recommend!
I have this type r in blue 66 plate. Really good review. The car is awesome but +R mode is very extreme. I had 02 plate EP3 from new for 7+ years & 59 plate FN2 from new for 7 years. The new FK2 is at another level by far....
Very good review especially with your history of other performance hondas so it's good to hear it from your perspective. I been considering this and test driven one but I'm waiting for the new release later this year to compare it with. Had a history with a few good hondas myself and currently have an S2000 as a weekend car. Would be looking to get the type r to replace the daily. I'm a bit distracted though by the other good options out there like the bmw m135/235 but haven't test driven those so I may have to do that. Thanks for the review.
koolkat969 thanks. 👍🏼 Yeah the S2000 is one performance Honda that I've never actually driven, and is definitely on my 'I want to own at some point' list 😀. The M140 and M240'are both great cars and IMO very good value for money, especially the 1 series. All depends if you can wait until the autumn this year for the new Type R? Can't go wrong with both cars though. 👍🏼
OnlineHousehusband thanks for the reply. I'm definitely waiting for that and really looking forward to it. Will have to test drive the bmw as well to see which ticks the most boxes for me. The S2000 is a great car and I don't intend on selling mine ever and if you intend on getting one, you should. Great cars and plenty of information on the S2KI forum to guide you in choosing a good one and general information you need during ownership.
Just becuase its old doesnt mean its automatically shit, but what it DOES mean is we get a nice discount/incentive to buy this :D am i right or amirite?
My friend did nurburgring and i recorded it from start to finish in 7 min 32 seconds honda civic type r fk2 standard but he traind the car from 0-100 in 4.7 sec its all about the right driver and respect for the car and training but yeah its an amazing car
humm, I have owned a DC2 UKDM and it was an awesome car. Also driven a few EK9's. Yes they're more 'raw' but I still do think the EP3 was a brilliant car. The K20a engine is a far better engine than the B18 or B16. its more relaxing at high speed, has more torque and is more powerful in stock form. My pick would be a 30th Anniversary or Premier Edition EP3. Thanks for checking out the video. :-)
A lovely review ...clearly you love the 'H' brand - really nice to see people enjoying the cars and glad we could help out. #Startin Honda - if you're after a new car look us up online www.startingroup.co.uk/honda
Love the FK2. It's such an engineering masterpiece for a fwd. I use mine as a daily and no issues....

Thanks Joe, Its a great engine to be fair and I think you'd enjoy it, just a 4WD system would finish it off in my opinion.
the club sport did best the time but they had to strip the car out completely but the type R was full spec :-)
Connor Barker thanks mate, I was slightly unsure. Doesn't seem a fair test then tbf. 👍🏼
not really no mate. these cars are awsome though, my dad has one and I have an ep3 and I personally love both of them!
Connor Barker yeah the EP3 was and still is a iconic hot hatch. I remember going in my brothers first cosmic grey one and was blown away by VTEC. 🔥👍🏼
Perfect all round car. U should review one ;-)
Connor Barker I would do but it's getting hold of motors to review. 👍🏼
Nice review! I'm getting my tomorrow:) Looking forward for this!
Mr 2MLT it's a cracking car 👍🏼👍🏼 you've made a great choice
How’s yours been ? Any problems ?

Carl Hinde - how is the ride ? have you looked at downgrading the wheel size for more comfort ?
I rarely use the +r mode so its generally ok..

Hello everyone, I wanted to ask if the FK 2 has a heated seat?
Yes it does I believe, with the GT spec
Bit late on the review. Honda have stopped production of the FK2 now- the ones left are just stock they need to shift, ready for the 10G.

Good choice!
Ep3 was a letdown compared to the dc2 and ek9 type-r...
