My old roommate never liked heavier music until I started inching it into his life song by song. Over the years I could see his depression grab more of his soul day by day and I realized music was his output. When I discovered this band and specifically this song and blared it through our speakers he immediately took hold to the words and it became his all time favorite. Another year or so went by and I had to move away for work. Without that positive influence I guess the depression took hold again and he ended up committing suicide a month after I left. He wrote me the night before he took his life and thanked me for showing him Amity Affliction and how they helped him through the hardest of times. I want to thank you for bringing a smile to my friends soul while he was with us and I know everytime I listen to this song a small piece of him is still with me jamming out in the room and smiling because life is just that much more bearable at the moment. Thank you

I've always found ahrens movement when trying to sing whilst playing bass very unique. It's like his body can move but his lips are held by some sort of magnetic force on the mic
Any time he sings a high note (ie his parts on the chorus) he jerks his head back to his right, like he's got a tic and it's sooo distracting. It couldn't stop noticing it at the show. It must help him reach the note by extending his vocal cords a bit or something. But I just think gee doesn't he get a stiff neck every show throwing his head back like he's got whiplash?

Thought I would visit back here to reminisce a little. This song dropped about 2 years in to the dark part of my life. this song and the album really dragged me through it for the most part. Went and saw them live in 2016 in Brisbane, then after that got married, 2 kids and life keeps getting better. Never thought I'd be here to say this but, I PROMISE you it get's better if you keep pushing even when you can't.

This is one of their best...forest fire is one of the most under rated. Lyrically & Instrumentals. Its flawless.
I remember hearing this for the first time as a suicidal 17-year-old. The line “Hey death, get fucked” hit me like a train when I first heard it; it gave me a sense of hope that I couldn’t find anywhere else at that point in my life. I’m way happier than I was back then, but this song and especially that line still have the same effect on me. It just reminds me how far I’ve come.

My friend, my Amity Affliction concert buddy, held Deaths Hand a couple of months ago. He had family and supportive friends, but this time, death's grip didn't let go. Who knows how many times he told death to get fucked, but there's only so much a person can take before they're well past their breaking point. This life can be so cruel sometimes. He was a great friend, passionate car guy, and wonderful husband and father.
This song broke me today, singing along for the first time since he passed. These guys truly make some great music, and I only hope more people will discover them and hear their uplifting songs and hope that maybe it will give them the strength to pull themselves from abyss that is so easily fallen into.
I don't normally listen to bands like this but, this band is one of my favorites. I have recommended them to many people and would do so again and again. I absolutely love The Amity Affliction!

TAA saved me from suicide. TAA gave me the balls to get sober. TAA gave me the confidence to start working out more & more. Before them I was 307 with no hope and ambition. Now I’m 202 , a year sober & alive. We really don’t appreciate music as much as we think.
