Amity pulls it off, but after a while it gets old
James Heffer danny from AA is a terrible example. On the three albums he did with them, to me, only a few songs were listenable. From "Death to Destiny"...no wonder he left. Look at Lamb of God or Breaking Benjamin for examples. Consistent for 10 to 15 years and they are both still awesome and selling out shows. I usually can't stand bands that don't keep a consistent sound.

I've seen it every time they've performed and every time, I have to leave to mosh cause I start bawling. I love that duality about metal music and its community. I can rage or I can cry. Either way, I'm accepted.

The pure pain in the screams speaks so many volumes to me. This guy was in some pain mentally/spiritually when he wrote this. And damn did he do a great job channeling that into this song. Hats off to this band. Just found out about them yesterday and I'm hooked. Great song man.

+Frederik Boll “Phake” Knudsen I suppose the song is open to a bit of interpretation but my view is that it's partially Joel having a bit of a vent about his depression (I interpret the "I am the storm that never leaves" line as a reference to depression because it's hard to fully get rid of it) but also him wondering if his life was fulfilling and whether he actually made an impact. I could be totally wrong, but that's just my thoughts.

+acceptanci Matt, I'm not a fan of parkway drive at all, Amity may be depressing at times, but the beautiful lyrics help people get through the tough times. And IMO Joel and Ahren sound so amazing together. They work very well. I'm a fan of Escape the Fate for a long time too. But Amity is my favorite band at the moment .

When I have my first ever listen to a song from an artist who I respect a lot I sometimes listen to the song with my eyes closed. Vision is my biggest distraction when I'm listening to music and if I shut my sight off then I can sometimes hear things that I wouldn't normally notice and create a picture of the music with my imagination. When String sang that really soft line I was amazed but on the first note of that guitar solo my eyes were almost involuntarily opened because I had to make sure that I hadn't slipped into a dream, just wow.
