    Thanks for the video Sir. I've been considering an ultimate subscription for a bit now. Been using the free stuff but if you are flying worldwide you end up going to several sources to get the needed charts then they aren't current. Having current worldwide coverage from one source is a big plus for me. Besides I prefer Jeppesen style charts. As for the cost, I find it acceptable. IRL I flew worldwide in a corporate flight department and the worldwide Jeppesen chart subscription (Paper not digital) was several hundred dollars. And revising all those chart manuals every 28 days was quite a task.

      It sounds like now we are getting a bargain with Navigraph then - thanks for the comment.

    Nice video sir! :) My tuppenceworth...
    Used to do a fair bit of IFR / airliner flying in X-Plane and back then, for me, Navigraph was invaluable. The added immersion of having all of the charts and flight planning tools and integration with Simbrief is great (and if you're flying IFR airways and not using Simbrief, why not? ;) ). There are 13 Navigraph updates a year in line with the real world Jeppesen updates, both data (i.e. what you see on the FMS) and charts, once every 4 weeks. At the time I felt it was important to be flying with the latest real world procedures, airways, intersections etc. Experiencing the real world introduction of Free Route Airpace in the sim alongside it happening in the real world was really immersive. Were it not for Navigraph I'd never have been aware of the changes and pace of that change. If current real world data is not important to you and you can get the charts elsewhere then maybe Navigraph is not for you. Bear in mind though that if you don't go for an aligned data / chart approach then you may find differences in the route the FMS takes and what your charts say. Value-wise if you decide these things are important to your simming experience then I think Navigraph is great value.
    These days however, in MSFS, give me gliders and bush planes. Do I use Navigraph any more? No, not these days. If I ever have time to play airliners again though, I'll be resubbing to Navigraph for sure :)

    Great video my friend. You left out being able to access it from the tool bar in any plane. It is a game changer for VR. ATC tells me the runway and i can pull up the chart and set a approach in my G1000 and a entry point. No more having to switch out of VR to see the chart. Just makes flying that much more realistic.

    Thank you for your video. I am using Navichart through a monthly subscription and I am very happy with it. It helps a lot to adjust correctly your flightplan. The only problem with MSFS is that its ATC is not exactly in line with the plan charged from Navigraph. So I follow rather the indications of the plan coming from Navigraph and don't listen to the MSFS ATC.

    Personally, I'm an Navigraph customer for years now. I'm a PC flyer. Monthly subscriptions are not my bag and the yearly option provided by Navigraph serves perfectly. Renewing yearly is much more convienient and I can step out. I like the up to date AIRAC though in truth, it's nice to have. The Charts are fundamental to my flights however and as I sim fly many hours a month (airline sim) in both P3D and more and more MSFS2020 now, I really cannot imagine not having this service. Someone below commented, "Horses for courses" and I can but only agree. P3D and MSFS (old and new) both remain supported btw. VFR charts is in development (expected date unknown) which I'm looking forward to. I'd hope that it's also included in the ultimate price (another unknown ). S!

    I pay for it using the annual plan to save money (roughly 25%). Cost around $80.40 American dollars after exchange and international fee. I divide it by 12 and save it until it's time to pay. I think its worth it but you really don't need it. I use Little Navmap on my second monitor and use Navigraph inside my GTN750 Premium, in my iPad at times and inside the plane if it has that feature. Still need to learn more about it but its valuable.

    I have the Ultimate subscription like you. And, like you, I'm on the fence about whether to keep it and try something else. BUT :) I mainly do the A320 (the Fenix but previously FBW) and sometimes a bit of GA sightseeing! It's very good for the A320 and it makes it worth the approx. 7 GPB a month for it. I waste more than that on coffee in a month! For the GA stuff the MS2020 built-in thing is quite adequate. Fundamentally, though, I've got very little tolerance these days for stacks of freeware that work fine = until they don't and you have to fix it or find a replacement which works with the rest. And Navigraph works really well and is updated frequently. So, for now, I'll be keeping it :)

    • @Huddison
      @Huddison  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fantastic points. Yes when you put it that way, £7 approx is not such a high price to pay monthly & it pretty much gives you the cream of toe crop in terms of Nav data and charts.

    I have a important question. I believe that when we are planning our routes we can see our aircraft parked on gate in Navigraph map if I zoom (if simulator is running). If this is correct then suppose if I don't want to install charts on my main FS2020 machine and want charts to be run from another machine on network how will I do that if possible. How will charts app identify fs2020 on network. I am not talking about moving maps. I have not yet installed charts on my main machine.

      When I have tried to import a plan into msfs, either the sids and stars are missing or the whole plan is a mess. I am mostly vfr flyer but wanted to explore ifr more with the CJ4. Simbrief doesn't seem to offer sids and stars. Its been a frustrating experience. Might fiddle again tonight, as a new flyer in ifr I'm probably doing something wrong.

    It's worth noting, not only do you miss out on in game integration / moving maps functionality on Xbox, but also you can't use the Navigraph data itself. This means that there may be certain IFR procedures showing within Navigraph, that you just can't fly on Xbox (or that require even more significant effort to enter than the already convoluted manual process necessary for us console peasants). Effectively what you get in the 25.90 / year subscription is unusable for console players... but Navigraph don't give a reduced price option for access to software and charts without data and integration...
    This is the main reason I've not subscribed previously to the Ultimate subscription... can't help feeling like I'd be paying for something that I'm not getting... and I'm from Yorkshire so that's a big no no!
    Another point to note, Navigraph is currently predominantly useful for IFR flight planning. If you mainly fly VFR, the Navigraph probably does not offer much - from what I understand, airports which do not have IFR procedures are not currently included in Navigraph. This is supposedly changing with the next major update to the software, which has been coming soon for several months... and which I believe is possible to sign up to the beta of as of a few days ago... not heard any further data as to how comprehensive this is though.

    It’s absolutely worth it. The price is very reasonable in my opinion. The charts alone are a massive asset. Yes, of course most charts can be found online for free, but they will usually be out of date AND you still have the headache of having to source them, whereas Navigraph does all that for you. I’d recommend everyone that flies IFR to try it for a month and see what they think. As you say, it can be cancelled it at any time. One thing I will say though, if you primarily fly small GA aircraft or any kind of VFR, then it’s not for you.

    No it is not worth it in my view. You would have to be flying and using it every day, even then it is suspect in terms of value. There are free charts available such as the one you mentioned. What concerns me is the new 737/700 from PMDG does not recognise the planner in MSFS, I hope this is not a sign of the future. It seems to me that Navigraph is meant for real flying not so much for a simulator. I'm afraid I am with the Yorkshire man.

    • @musefan12345
      @musefan12345 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes there are free charts to be found online for most airports, but with Navigraph you’re paying for the simplicity of having everything organised in one simple app. You also know that everything is up to date. I do agree though, you’d need to be doing quite a bit of flying to make it worth your while.
      As for your point about the 737, even in previous sims (FSX, P3D etc) the built in flight planners never worked properly with PMDG aircraft. There were always issues. I’d always use Simbrief for making an IFR flight plan, no matter which aircraft I was using, as it’s so much easier.

Yes, it keeps the nav Dara for the sim up to date, but it doesn’t update the nav data within payware addon aircraft. It also won’t update external apps or flight planners such as Volanta, Simbrief or Little NavMap. Navigraph is needed for this. While it’s nice to have an up to date Airac in the sim, it causes confusion when everything else isn’t up to date
