    I'm a high school culinary instructor as well as a full-time youtuber. I watched your video and purchased the X-15R version, because we run concession foods for our sports teams. I just got mine delivered the other day and super excited to re-watch this video and get going. I have a question though: can you please provide a link to the plastic dome top, because I couldn't find it and the company I purchased this from just sold me the $1,500+ unit w/o the top...

      A whirlwind can go around the clock. I always clean it with high heat and let is self cool and turn it off between each spin, but other people pour sugar into the machine while it is still running. This machine will run for hours.

    This was a great video - thank you! I'm looking to purchase a Gold Medal. Do you know the differences between The Breeze, The Breeze EZ Clean, Auto Breeze, and the Econo Floss? I haven't heard back from Gold Medal, so any input would be helpful! Also, would you recommend a machine that HAS the temp control or DOESN'T have the temp control (automatic temp)?

      I can sell a reliable device, but delivery from Russia, there is no automatic regulator on such machines, they install a voltage regulator, but there are machines that generally give out bad wool, no matter how unregulated

    Can you add sugar to the machine while it's running or do you have to turn the machine off for continuous use

    • @spunparadise8823
      @spunparadise8823  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For the Gold Medal, you can add more while it is spinning, I prefer not to though. When you add while the machine is spinning, the sugar eventually strips the wires in the head of the machine and they will need to be replaced. It's "easier" on the machine if you stop it to refill. Really will depend on your volume and how much time it's saving to leave it running.

    • @spunparadise8823
      @spunparadise8823  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's absolutely the humidity. You may need to do prepackaged during high humidity months. Spinning cones in Hawaii at markets was never an option. We could still spin, but we had to spin directly into containers.

    How do you change the flavors?

    • @spunparadise8823
      @spunparadise8823  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With a large machine like the Whirlwind you can only change the flavors after each spin. Each spin makes about 20 cotton candy cones, so you can change the flavor about every 20 cones. Hope that makes sense.

    When you refill sugar you like to turn the machine off to protect the wires from extra wear but before refilling do you turn up the heat to clean the head and then cool the machine, then turn off the spinner, then refill it?? Or what exactly is the process that you use between batches?

    • @spunparadise8823
      @spunparadise8823  ปีที่แล้ว

      I usually only heat up high at the end of a spin to clean it really well, at about every four spins. The spins in between, I let the machine run and cool itself down, then turn off and refill.

    • @jennyjones1461

    • @spunparadise8823
      @spunparadise8823  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Technically no. I do for every spin, but a lot of people pour sugar in while it is still running. The abrasion from the sugar will wear down the wires in the head a lot faster if you add sugar while it is still on. Hope that helps!

    • @michaelgadilhe1509
      @michaelgadilhe1509 ปีที่แล้ว

      The wires are insulated and with a whirlwind there really is no need to turn the machine off especially when demand is high. It's time consuming as well. Have run machines continuously for several hours without stopping with no adverse effects. Gold medal machines.

    • @spunparadise8823

      I recommend turning the heat a bit higher, there will be sugar loss, but 50% is excessive.
