Yes, we're in Never Land again, only this time Peter Pan cannot fly. Yes, you read that correctly. This is a game in which Peter can't fly. Boy, I'd love to have been a fly on the wall during that pitch meeting. How did that go, exactly? Did one guy propose this concept, and everyone in the room then unanimously agree that this was a good idea? What were they even thinking?! They basically took Peter Pan and sucked all the fun out of it. I take back every criticism I made of the PS1 game - at least you could fly, which is the least you'd expect from a Peter Pan game. But maybe it's not ALL bad. It may sound a lazy concept but perhaps this is something of a hidden treasure?

When I was a kid I was a Peter Pan fanatic, still am just look at my profile. And I wanted to play this so bad , I had the PS1 version and thought this would kick ass. This never came out in America though so I guess I was spared . On a side note Disney Interactive used to have this big website where they advertised all their games . I would look at this website drooling and lusting over this game and another game that featured Peter Pan and shared the same website. A strange and gothic looking game known only as Kingdom Hearts .

Not gonna lie, I am actually surprised seeing this, I mean, the only Disney Peter Pen game I know, is the one on PS1, that I believe isn’t great(?).

I remember this game (never played it, but I rented the PS1 game years ago) and seeing this, I honestly don't think I've ever seen something _this_ horrific come out of Disney Interactive. Between the animations, voice acting, sound and visuals it almost feels like a shameless bootleg of itself.
Speaking of which, I've noticed that plenty of Disney games from this era leaned hard into mimicking _Crash Bandicoot's_ gameplay and level design. Albeit, minus the creative level concepts, the fun of running through environments and the understanding of how special moves are supposed to work. XD
I must say, I particularly despise simple games like this that give you heaps of useless extra moves. All you need is some basics and away you go. It's not like it's _Arkham City_ or _Tekken._ Btw, that _Catchphrase_ sound was a nice touch. 😉
Incidentally, your mention of _Superman 64_ reminded me. I'm not sure if I ever mentioned _Superman: Shadow of Apokolips_ to you. It's about the only decent *Superman* game, but only just. You can freely fly around environments, uses the basic superpowers, all that jazz, but it falls down in a few areas preventing it from being great. Might be worth a look.

I know what you mean about the Crash rip-offs. I think the best Disney had was Donald Duck: Quack Attack/Goin' Quackers. It wasn't perfect but far better than this.

I finally got myself to finish watching this, uni schedule is a nightmare urghh... I honestly never even known that this game existed which is weird because I played PS1 game, but now after watching this... I am really glad. Ngl I feel bad for you for having to go through this, not only that game is bad but voice overs and sound effects are just on another level of bad. This was a very entertaining review as usual and thanks! Now I will have YAA HOO! playing in my head for the next couple of days 😂

The PS1 game is FAR better than this. 😂 This is one of the worst Disney games I've played, but I'm not certain it's the absolute worst. That can wait for another video. Not any time soon though, I feel like I've tortured myself enough.
Great video and this game definitely looks interesting to say the least but hey it has a poor 3d platformer slide, I can't help but like that, that alone definitely takes me back to the early 2000s era

We love double jump so much
I think it would be cooler if the treasures give you more life points, agility and a sword. Later, you can switch between the knife or the other weapon. Maybe one of the lost boys can have a shop where you can upgrade your items... like in Cuphead. Sounds more fun and useful than parts of the movies in bad quality 🤨
Question; WHY Tootles can talk? He never speak in Return to neverland but now yes? The producers of this game clearly didn't watched the second movie.
Tootles also talks in the PS1 game. I think they probably just thought it would be easier to give him a voice. It is strange though imo.
1) Its funny how despite this game being named after the (in my opinion at least) better then it had any right to be sequel to the 1953 original, Jane (the actual focus of "Return to Neverland") is just sorta there in this game. I would've imagined this game be where while Peter could takle flying stages, Jane could handle core platforming.
2) I'm not sure what would be worse. Playing this game or watching "Jake and the Neverland Pirates".
Yeah, Jane and Danny don't really serve much purpose until the very end of this. It wasn't nearly as interesting as I'd hoped. 😂
@@idonthaveanose Agreed. Which is sad considering Jane in the movie was actually really interesting in my opinion. While she may have been a mini Mr Darling, her reasoning behind it is very understandable. Mainly cause her family was being effected by WW2.

You bring up that your old Peter Pan review was one of your least favorites, why is that? Also I come back to this video often enough because I find it so entertaining haha
The early reviews all have choppy editing and some dodgy audio, and on top of that, I never really felt as though it worked as a proper 'review'. It kinda turns into a rant about things like political correctness. I haven't watched it through in a couple of years though.
Also Peetle Pan is one of those so-bad-it's-good games for me. 😂
