Re:Coded is the best command deck game, even DDD was too clunky despite being on a superior console, the standard combos of both BBS and DDD were too stiff and not varied enough, too many of their physical commands snapped you to the ground, not to mention that the commands didn't chain well into your basic combo we really need a Re:Coded remaster, fanmade or otherwise
I wonder if the slowness of the command deck originates from the fact that on PSP the UMD disc format was extremely slow. So trying to load a bunch of flashy commands on the fly just wasn’t possible without a DATA INSTALL. But that’s optional so they still had to keep in mind the UMD when developing this game. Awesome mod tho!
I don't think so. After all, I think it's all loaded in the RAM. The combat was intentionally made slow, and commands weren't never really meant to connect to one another. Re:Coded did it masterfully, and that was on the DS. It's all gameplay design. If h.a.n.d. hadn't handled the game themselves and had left everything to the Osaka team, that game would have been a mess too.

Ngl, I still kinda love birth by sleep as it is, but I noticed during my 100% run that the game's combat is so flawed thanks to the low damage and lack of revenge value. This mod 100% fixes the combat by giving you room to be more creative with your combos, and overall makes the game feel so much faster. I will try this with the Ultimate Mix mod one day, I bet that will be really fun!
Your argument is probably just as flawed as you think the combat is. You acknowledge the lack of revenge value being bad, yet adding something that makes you able to attack relentlessly with no revenge value is good????
@@naysayerck5971 I get what you're saying, but even if you attack constantly with no fail, most bosses will eventually escape the combo. My point is more that with this mod you're able to adapt to that by being able to cancel your attacks instead of being vunerable when Vanitas teleports away to counter attack you for exemple. You need to still get lucky to get a infinite combo just like in the og version of the game, or at least that's how my experience was.

Sometimes bosses will take all your hits and you infinite combo them, and other times they just escape after one hit. The Mysterious Figure for exemple rarely even feels most of your attacks, so comboing him is almost impossible. Being able to attack constantly at least let's you keep uo with his fast attacks.
Only thing i couldn't stand in BBS was the command fusion. You need the right commands to make a better one sure is cute but you need to know how to get those material commands and also the skills were hidden like come on, i just want to level uo and gain a skill or get it in a chest or as a sub mission reward
Don't laugh but i like the O - confirm, X - cancel button setting a lot more. I change that up in every game if possible. My PS5 has it's X and O buttons swapped through the accessibility setting.
Mod removes the ridiculous recovery frames after each Command. Basically allows you to combo freely. You can also cancel some moves early like Thunder Surge with a block and then go right into the next move. Thunder Surge is just like Sliding Dash a little bit weird if you can quickly get back on your feet, since this game is focusing the camera into the direction you aimed the move at instead of keeping the focus on the enemy (something which UNIRONICALLY has been handled better in Re:Coded. a f***ing Nintendo DS game). There are of course other weird stuff like Ars Solum or Zantetsuken which freeze in their cinematic state if you cancel them to early. So with this mod both Commands are better suited as combo enders since you have to wait for the moves to end anyway. And yes i removed the Cooldown of each move. I don't like that feature it doesn't belong to fully fledged console games. That's smart phone game gacha sh't. If you know some top tier tournament-level secret discord techniques with this mod then please share it with us.

Imagine if this game had a combat system similar to KH2. It’s almost universally agreed upon that the gameplay isn’t good, and yet the game itself is still regarded as one of the best in the series. Waste of a fantastic story.
that would be sick actually. but as the game is i'd rather turn off the cool down to avoid wasting 2 slots for one command i want to utilize twice in a combo

I wanna play BBS so bad but the "ability wheel" is too annoying for me I just cant, yet I was fine with Kh DDD???? I dont know why it feels like such a difference but BBS just feels unplayable to me ;-;
wait so this is just a mod?.. hmm ig it would've been cool if the og game had a better.. more reliable.. and variable combo game using commands (maybe like smash in a way.. where the high knockback of some moves can combo into other moves.. and the quick start up of some moves combine well with certain other moves with little endlag and then maybe some other stuff..
combo canceling just looks unnatural & it doesn’t make the character move fast/snappy either. Plus, bc there’s no revenge value, Zack was easily beaten by combo after combo.

bbs combat is good, the issue is, its far from being fair and even feels cheap with some bosses instakills if you dont have something like second wind

Honestly the cool downs should have kept, but either add more deck slots or have a way to swap decks mid combat

Funny enough with this mod Ven absolutely sucks. All the brain power and creativity went into Terra/Aqua and it shows.
