Haha, Sorin has no luck, Sorin has knowledge and experience.
This time you surpass yourself. You're really the best Sorin. Nice to see you back.
I was able to repair my Alienware 17 r3 after much watching of your excellent channel . The 19V power rail cap short to gnd after 1st mosfet stage I used a diy voltage injector and some time. I am really very very pleased as a used 2nd hand Motherboard was expensive really far to expensive. I want to thank you for your time and effort recording your work helping out people like me
!!!!!!!!!THANKS!!!!!Excellent...... Dave B
Every day is a learning day and on day one you say you are a cleaner I believe you are a very modest man who knows how to get the job done, Thank you
true its not luck its knowledge and experience....big thumb up here from the philippines.....
You are just a OG technician. Big up. You are a big inspiration. Keep it up. Romania - Slovakia. We are not so far away 😂
Sorin, big respect for you from Bulgaria. You are just amazing!
Romania is here!
@@Kotzo79 Maldives
Cocroach pro tip: never smash it with your shoe because some eggs will stick on your shoes and you will bring it to yoour home and everywhere! :) Nice video BTW, keep on!
I watch a lot of your videos but i didn't know you are from Roumania, great to see an expert like you on work
This repair was insane Sorin, very good.
Hugs from an italian brother.
I have seen a lot of repairs, this one was amazing!
as i seen the liquid metal under the chip by the first resoldering i was headbutting with an ultrapam to use it in mobile devices.
Vai ce surpriza ..urmăresc canalul dvs de luni bune și abia azi am aflat că sunteți român. Extraordinar! Mulțumiri pentru toată muncă pe care o faceți și pentru tot ce impărtășiți cu noi!
Well done, Sorin! Keeping your "head down" and continuing to try to fix this pays off.
Excellent work again, watching you using your experience to find the faults is fantastic, Thanks
This repair has taken forever but you fixed it eventually! You’re a master Sorin 😎
Great work. I have never even cared to try that liquid metal thermal compound. Have a great week!
Hi Sorin just a thermal imager. It will be easier and faster. Your time is worth it. Greetings from a service technician from Poland
Thank you, i will
What a steady hand maaaan. Awesome job. What would we do without you Sir👍❤️❤️
Wait a minute - are you telling me that I can use Zippo petrol and a toothbrush to clean a PCB?
This video is insane and I love it, you've got a new subscriber lmao
Best wishes from Czech Republic!
or alcohol
@@andreiuul1 Yeah I'm using IPA or Technical Alcohol (>99% ethanol) but it never crossed my mind that I could use Zippo petrol lol
@@ApofKol it's methanol I think
@@therealb888 I just took a look at the ingredients list and it says it's petroleum benzine or naphtha
@@ApofKol yeah he loosened all the dirt and spread it around. didnt actually remove it
hello sorin, i just want to say thank u to your discord server, especially to dexas, seeker, mido, piernov, nandoloris, az, and to you old man, i wish u good health, may god give u more work so that u will share more with us... thank very much... -your student from ph :)
Thank you!
You should call that the "Lazarus project", because you certainly resurrected that one there. It was certainly a basket case when you started with it. Excellent job!
Sorin, After watching 50 or so of your videos I am convinced that you are indeed the laptop whisperer. Who do I need to kill to get you to look at my Asus laptop, or who do I need to cripple to get you to recommend a repair facility in the US?!!! Thanks, RobertR
Hi ,had a problem with an old board I striped it down and cleaned it down and placed it in the oven, I should have put some rosen, but to my surprise, yep it worked fine for several years, to YOU great work again - still, I enjoy watching your video 👍👍🇦🇺 thanks
Awesome Job Sorin. Very insightful work and patience. You breakthrough and succeeded, that was not easy job at all.
I like how you fix laptops, even the hard ones. Thanks ,you the guy.
Can’t fast forward the video, Every word is a treasure. Keep it up! -Subscriber from Philippines💯
You should have put the cockroaches back in. Customer will come back and accuse you of stealing them, lol Thanks for the video. Love watching your content and have learned a lot over he last few years.
HUH cockroach again?? :O where in the video??
Hey Sorin , I'm be glad to watch the whole video even if it take hours , and I'm pretty sure more people think same like me. Specially if the whole video dont have commercial but I'll watching anyways if u upload it complete with out cuts. Or editing.
Sorin, nice job! I never thought memory chips are so resistant at high temperatures... And you did it manually... Obviously you have lots of experience. Many are using machines to center them, heat the board, control the temperature. And you are also very lucky to find the fault... True! "Worst fault ever"
Bravo, Sorin! oamenii ca tine ne fac sa fim mandri ca suntem romani!
You certainly earned that win, It was epic, like Ali and Foreman Rumble in the Jungle.
I think the chance of your knowledge is higher than the chance of your luck this time. Prefect fix😍👍🏻
A really hard job and a great fix. Congrats on this one.
Fascinating repair there, it's one of those jobs that takes more time than the value of the item is worth, the customer must of been super pleased with you.
Well, the laptop is over 1k on ebay, second hand, so i think is worth
same thing in the autoparts business there's no way you can give a proper diagnosis via phone. much respect
Im proud to announce that i learnt from this guy
Frumoa lucrat, ai adaugat mai multa atentie la interventia asta dar a meritat felicitari pe viitor te indrum sa iti achizitionezi o statie IRDA
You really enjoy your work. Im insipred to do electronics, but dont know where to start.
Im following your channel from Zim
This is intense!
Thank you for sharing this.
Thanks Sorin - I have to disagree. That repair took skill not luck! Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed watching as always.
This has been a really interesting video. Thanks for the work putting the footage together.
I failed trying to fix a friend´s Lenovo X1 reflowing the onboard main memory (It was already dead but during the reflow, it posted and crashed a few times). I quitted after it stopped posting at all, but after seeing this video I think I might try to find new memory chips.
Regarding the liquid metal... I have it on my own laptop (wich was hitting 100C previously) and it works, but after seeing this I have seen exactly where the danger is. Hopefully, I won´t have to see anything like that ever.
Thanks for letting me watch this repair
Great job fixing
Very impressive
Great work, thank you for sharing so much knowledge.
But please tell me the mat you were using is not asbestos. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Best laptop repair video EVER.
Am gaining more experience by these videos thx
Sorin, not sure if you read comments on old videos, but here’s a tool that is NOT in your toolbox…
A standard dishwasher. Yes, I’m serious. I’ve cleaned several circuit boards in the dishwasher. Works awesome. They come out spotless.
As long as it’s all semiconductors and no cube relays, or other parts that can trap water, a dishwasher works awesome for cleaning boards that have very heavy dirt, spills, and gunk stuck to them.
I typically put a light amount of detergent in the machine, and suspended the boards with wire bread twist ties. Let it run through the entire cycle, including the dry cycle.
Search for “CERN dishwasher” and you’ll see that it’s even used by scientists. It’s great because you throw the board in, and go do other work while it washes!
Ma bucur pentru munca depusa , pacat ca Romania nu iti ofera posibilitatea de a avansa in treaba asta !
Great job man. Just in case you don't know... there is a leaked program called nvidia mats that would have helped you find the ram memory that was faulty and no need to unwelt many chips.
Exactly. Every repair worker must know of this software. However, it works only on nvidia and only starting from Fermi.
O zi buna!
Sorin, You needed Luck and Knowledge to come tothis result. I've been following your work and I want to say THANK YOU SIR. You have greatly expanded my knowledge. I wonder how expensive is this for the customer. The laptop itself is VERY expensive. If I was the customer I wouldn't have fixed it. The easiest thing would be the ebay and a replacement with a new one.
Magic Man with lot of experience ❤️❤️❤️
You are "BIG", respect!
Sorin you are the best! Thanks for teaching us so much!
What can i say for this video?Diagnose without schematics and solder a BGA chip without reballing tools? Only with hot air?!!!Your Experience is Gold!!Master Level - Monster level!!(10 plus minimum...) PERFECT MR SORIN PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Honestly i don't know how you do it Sorin i stopped doing youtube videos because i cant keep up with repairs then do youtube video ..... great informative video well done mate hitting 209K also :)
Your videos are very entertaining and interesting!
Great teacher and so calm man...also all moders on discord are cool :D it's great thank for all Sorin !!!
that unscrewed nvme at the end is gold..xD
I can completely understand where you're coming from. It's the equivalent of someone asking what can be wrong with their car with just a description of, "it's making a noise". When you ask them what kind of car, they tell you, "red".
Fantastic video my friend,great work.
I would reccomend holding the twizzers as low as you can its better, will help keeping stable the component!
I don't think its a luck , it depends on a theory and yes it was right , great job Sorin !
What brand is the little electric screwdriver u use ? Thanks for the nice video's very inspirational I learn a lot of it !
I'm not 100% sure but it could be a XIAOMI Mijia electric screw driver
@@emanuele277 Thank you I look it up.
Well done sorin :-D
The customer is very lucky you were able to bring it back from death.
But allowing people to just send things without asking is a very bad idea.
Hi Sir,watching here in the Philippines, great job sir. Thanks for your video.
I cleaned liquid metal from a board with "Wurth brake cleaner" and compress air
only in macedonia
Wurth brake cleaner contains acetone, is that good for motherboard? If you drop acetone on black plastic cover you gonna see white spots.
@@ChaseMyRabbit plastics on most motherboards do not react with acetone. I am regularily using acetone when I need to get hard to remove flux cleaned.
I like to watch your show; it's therapeutic, it calms me, you explain very well, tHank You for this channel
Cockraoch, yes. I had a bug in my laptop but Avast removed it.
I have only i7 and 16gb of ram, need to upgrade my PC so i can use Avast like You. Its just enough for some djing, audio and video editing, 3d drawing and few games, but for Avast it is weak.
Welcome back Mr Hot Glue
Great edit Sorin, first I see :) . I was already confused about the desk change. Maybe you can upgrade you’re microscope cam once, that would watch even better. Have a nice day. Bye
I saw the crap around the edges of the memory chip while you were reflowing it the first time and said to myself that is not good. Hopefully this customer has sworn off using liquid metal on systems.
Amazing and so helpful. Thanks so much
Shew ! hats off to you Sorin .A great Repair
"At the end of the day we are just cleaners" as a remodeling contractor, we can say the same . lol
I had cockroaches inside a small TV once. I saw one behind the buffer boards and grabbed it with my tweezers and threw it out the window. I thought it would be the end of it, but then another one came out....and then another one....they wouldn't stop coming from behind those buffers and I was afraid they'd get onto my desk and run all over the place, so I took the TV out and blasted it with compressed air as hard as I could, revealing a nest of like 10-15 more in there ! HOW DO SOME PEOPLE LIVE LIKE THAT ???? I should've charged extra for that :))
Great video on liquid metal damage. Great techniques.
Great job , thanks a lot Ms Sorin , we learn a loooot from you keep going you’re the best
Most of the times from experience blinking led light means memory module reading error..... P.S i saw a black fiber mate was that carbon fiber or fiber glass mate to prevent heat from passing on to the table when using the hot-air station or just not to scratch the table? hope for a reply please so i can order some mates. love your videos respect comrade.
:) OOohh, Not Petrol! I mix the bottles! U are Legend! :)
Was I the only to expect "Burn, m..., burn"?
awesome one, thanks for sharing and editing!
Thanks! You're my favorite channel
Excellent job done. How much you charge for this job to customer??
rosin under the chips for quick patch job
now that's a trick worth remembering
Respect Sorin this was crazy video !
every time I watched your video I Learned more
Liquid metal is all nice and such but I think they're better off with thermal paste because it's safer and easier for people to replace.
I appreciate you for ideas
Sorin, love your vids and learning a lot, Merci multi
Great job Sorin! Could you please link to where you bought the chips please?
Amazing, thank you so much for your electronic lessons!
Good job buddy, Top man.
That some skills. Thank you for all the videos.
To clean the MB properly, you will have to put the entire motherboard into the small container and actually clean it submerged in the cleaning solution. When I worked in the production plant we had ultrasonic cleaning devises to clean PCBs. Alcohol based cleaning solution is the best to my knowledge.
I totally agree, its almost a process of elimination.
Hello, we are waiting for you glad to see you master
Hello Sir Sorin, very nice job, wish i had your patience. What happened to your wooden table trim?
Oh,I spoke to soon, wooden trim is there :)
Hello, I think that it is mineral spirit, that is used for lighters , or precedently naphta (which is probably forbidden today) I buy that by the liter, (French name "essence C, F or A") it is fine to get rid of old adhesive from tapes, among other degreasing and corrosion protection on steel. regards
That a master repair, not because you fix it but because you change a whole memory chip and usually you dont do that kind of repair, even my best guy who repair iphones think twice before change a bigger ic .
You use only petrol ? To repair or petrol with rosìn ? Can you give the link to bought it (purchase? ) and the link Ford the video that you mentioned ... thanks from Portugal ;) ?
He uses his own resin made like here: th-cam.com/video/9xk76e7nzcw/w-d-xo.html. P.S. Good job Sorin! Thank you
I'm always in awe seeing you at work, but, please Sorin, You have to admit that you're at least a BIT lucky! I tried to repair boards way less ruined than this one, with no success at all!
When i was working at the "Depozitul de Calculatoare Co." one person had cockroaches in the house and one died on the laptop's mobo, poor bastard, and juices were all over the mobo, and also a person sent for warranty (the nerve of the mofo) a laptop that was pissed by the cat, the tech that was working on the laptop turned green with grouse and vomited on the floor, and this was back in 2008-2009.
