It's not that difficult after all. I just can't finish this quick. This guy is an amazing player. But, I used to do the oposite of him - instead of trying to be this quick, I used to explored the levels as much as I could, and acumulate as many lives that i could, and just then I finished it....
Man, you're the best, I never saw something like that. How did you remember every detail of each level? Each teleport, every box. You knew exactly where to go. You can only have a photographic memory. Very very good. One of the best videos done quick game I've ever seen.
Although this tool-assisted run is far from a realistic depiction of how the game actually plays, it does give a pretty clear view of the incredible depth and complexity of this game. It's been years since I played it, but I still remember the feeling of extreme relief when I finally beat it.
Maaaaaaan. You absolutely killed this. The way you handled the third round of heady bosses had my jaw dropped. Talk about tons of practice. I still haven't beat this game yet.
I had a long road to ruin and died after losing like thirty lives, all on The Final Marathon, and then this guy comes along and does that level like it's a cakewalk! TAS sure is amazing!
When you beat such a game, you can officially take the title of "Hardcore Gamer" :3 ! I spent more than 6 hours to beat it, searching for continues and lives, praying to be fast enough before the timer goes out... Man, that game is PURE awesomeness ! ( Final Marathon almost killed me... ) What was the best ? Paying 100 bucks for a Sonic that you finish in 1 hour ? Or for the same price, a similar game that you'll never finish if you don't train ? :3
It's tool-assisted play. Basically, the game is played in (super)slow-motion with save states and a recording is made of the button presses. Then after you're done you just let it play and make a video recording of it or whatever. It's not direct human skill, but it does take a lot of time, patience, perseverence, planning/research and discussion to make these.
back when games were a real challenge, I spent hours and hours of my childhood getting through this one, I finally won this game after who knows how much playtime when I got my hands on the emulator and I swear to god it was FUKING hard without savestates, it took me like 200+ replays of the game.. but in the end it was worth it.
bro, this guy is the mesiah of all arcade games. i never beat this game, i damn near came close but never beat it, but what took me many months to come close to doing, he did it in 31:4O flat!!! i'm literally praising this guy yo
I used to play it alot, and I mean alot. One of the ways it kept its replay value was the fact you can choose to go to different lvls at different times. There are hidden warp zones all over the place. It was frustraiting but a fun chalange
this game wants to be like a Mario game in the worst way but it suffers from 1 major problem 103 levels and no saves granted you can fight the final boss after stage 2 but he's hard to beat regardless
lol I beat this game when I was 9, I had to leave my sega on for days and I had to make sure I hit every single box and kill every single enemy.... ahhh man good stuff.
If I ever get stuck on a holodeck, I'm SO going to call you for aid. The most biggest badass in town is obviously rogueyoshi, not some kid with sunglasses and a white shirt...
This memorable game is not that difficult after all. I just can't finish this quick. This guy is an amazing player. But, I used to do the oposite of him - instead of trying to be this quick, I used to explored the levels as much as I could, and acumulate as many lives that I could, and just then I finished it....
If you just stand still for a single frame or so and save then there will not be any noticeable difference if you load it etc. You simply do not notice the one of the 25 or even 30 frames per second.
But bro, I am impressed on how u made it through so many levels like that LoLz. I made it through like mad levels with Cyclone (which is one of my favorite characters, btw), but I NEVER once knew that Skycutter could do just as good a job as Cyclone LoLz. *thinks for a minute* hmm......*sucks teeth* I think I may use him in the game sometime
he can't because it's tool assisted, means its literally played by advancing single frames in an emulator and rewinding if something doesn't go perfect. you can't do that on a real console.
não, hueuheu isso é um TAS, é um Speedrun, a pessoa que gravou isso teve o auxílio de programas especiais que diminuem a velocidade do jogo transformando o "gameplay" lento num arquivo de vídeo.
Its a very good game and a good run but is made with an emulator and a slow frame for frame tool so, is not valid in the world records but is fun to see. Nice vid
I loved the part : hill of the warrior, hONETLYS first time i played it years ago on my MD-SEGA, I managed to get all possible bonuses- even -NO MASK ofc!!! And I like u're style with the - SCOOTER!!!(u know what I mean right) But honestly I was stucked on that LEVEL like the CRYSTAL CRAGS type... where U have to choose between- WHIRLWIND and THE SCOOTER.... so I never beat the game :( .... well once I used the code :P for WARPING on the last boss- PLETHORA!!!
What part of "beat in a weekend" would include long RPGs? I play those games too and I wasn't talking about them. I was replying to Turbofuss saying Kid Chameleon is "too hard wah" and has too many levels. Which is ridiculous. Games back then weren't made to appeal to the lazy. They were made to challenge you and give you your money's worth.
correction watching even further I remember getting to the last marathon or the level before the last boss and died there. but only did that happen once.
I just watched my entire childhood flash before my eyes, and i was devestated by how much i sucked at this. hahahah well done sir
Hahaha same here, comment of the century
Same here but it is apparently tool assisted though...
Specter in the hardest mode for real ???
@@M0rzone it is 100% tool assisted
Yes indeed it’s very impressive I sucked at this so much
this game needs a sequel
It has one, try Heady Metals Revenge, might be a fan MOD but I find it on par with the original in quality.
I'm studying looking after a chameleon and discovered an awesome resource at Chameleon Hasty Hacks (check it out on google)
INSANITY! this is one of the most difficult video games in history!
It's not that difficult after all. I just can't finish this quick. This guy is an amazing player. But, I used to do the oposite of him - instead of trying to be this quick, I used to explored the levels as much as I could, and acumulate as many lives that i could, and just then I finished it....
@@rodrigoeale Late, but this is a TAS

it's unbelievable I managed to reach the end at such a speed, that's what I call a Quick Professional
Although this tool-assisted run is far from a realistic depiction of how the game actually plays, it does give a pretty clear view of the incredible depth and complexity of this game. It's been years since I played it, but I still remember the feeling of extreme relief when I finally beat it.
It won't be long before something like this game is real. With the way technology is going, we'll have VR like this in no time.
Then we are going to need Fonz hair styles, sweet leather jackets, white shirts, denim jeans, and cool sunglasses.
it's tool-assisted, people... :|
It still amuses my primitive mind.
Even a TAS could barely make Bloody Swamp on time...
Maaaaaaan. You absolutely killed this. The way you handled the third round of heady bosses had my jaw dropped. Talk about tons of practice. I still haven't beat this game yet.

There was a Skycutter helmet in Hills of the Warrior 1? Didn't know that. I've been trying to survive that wall.
I laughed really hard at the shark that was SO CLOSE to biting your head off at 23:11, lol.
Yes

You are german.
dude you are impossibly good at this game. my friend and i tried to beat this back in the day - could never even come close. you are the master.
Lol, did anyone else catch the save state at 28:52? Either way, the runner is freakin' awesome! Thanks for uploading this!
First off it's a TAS, so basically anybody can do this with enough time. Secondly, he gets hit to save time by avoiding the no hit bonus.
It's tool-assisted play. Basically, the game is played in (super)slow-motion with save states and a recording is made of the button presses. Then after you're done you just let it play and make a video recording of it or whatever.

10:23 ALL of his moves are perfect
because it's a tas...
TAS
The programming abuse was well used at 11:51 I enjoyed this TAS a lot. 5/5

There was a time when I was that good on the Hoverboard with the switch jumping. Those days are long gone though.
back when games were a real challenge, I spent hours and hours of my childhood getting through this one, I finally won this game after who knows how much playtime when I got my hands on the emulator and I swear to god it was FUKING hard without savestates, it took me like 200+ replays of the game.. but in the end it was worth it.
One of my all time favorite games.Holy Shit you must have played for hours to get this good!
I understand this, but this game just proves itself as a gamer's nightmare; It takes him this long to beat it, getting record-like time bonuses.
All fans of Kid Chameleon greetings from 2013!
the way you just waltzed through Bloody Swamp... bravo!
2:54 I love the music of this stage

Dude its seriously HARD! The designers were pretty brutal.
this game wants to be like a Mario game in the worst way but it suffers from 1 major problem 103 levels and no saves granted you can fight the final boss after stage 2 but he's hard to beat regardless
That's for dang sure. As challenging as the game is, and as cruel as the designers were, its actually really well made, and very fun.
That was very impressive. Using barely any space to steelswipe 3 blocks!
That Kid Chameleon -- when he gets that hoverboard, he's somethin' else.
13:34 that part gave me nightmares when i was a kid
god damn, I still play this game til this day but you just blew my mind
lol I beat this game when I was 9, I had to leave my sega on for days and I had to make sure I hit every single box and kill every single enemy.... ahhh man good stuff.
This has to be the most epic game for the Genesis.
Well done sir. Even with save state i woudnt be able to do this. I like how fast you kill the first boss
It took me playing this game throughout YEARS before I beat it the old fashioned way.
I just watched the whole video now. Great job
seas quien seas te felicito, eres un game master. tarde mucho tiempo en terminar este juego. fue uno de mis favoritos en aquellos años.
omg what a badass!!!! congrats!!
Yea, which is why only some are ever able to beat it. Games back in the day weren't made to hold your hand and make sure ANYONE could get to the end.
This is unreal... wow. I never beat this game after trying for so many years
You're the best skycutter I've ever seen hands down
it's a tas, not a real person playing
@@godlyvex5543 real people are behind tas
24:07
That's the farthest I've ever gotten, I died on ELSEWHERE.
Great TAS!
you could have just completed it in like 3 minutes if you did the warp back on the first level
this gotta be the best speed run ive seen in a game ever =D
On the TAS videos site, it states that warps that revisit/backtrack to already visited levels are not required.
22:28 - 22:58.. Damn good gameplay! Very smooth..
Time to go play some kid chameleon on the old genesis box lmao
oh an extra life on plethora. so useful !
If I ever get stuck on a holodeck, I'm SO going to call you for aid. The most biggest badass in town is obviously rogueyoshi, not some kid with sunglasses and a white shirt...
I played this game thousand times, but didn't know about the skater skin :-)
@9:55 you can go directly to the mountain elsewhere on the first teleporter, without going to the black lions elsewhere, saving some seconds
This memorable game is not that difficult after all. I just can't finish this quick. This guy is an amazing player. This can not be achieved by a human! Incredible! You must have the reflexes of a.... something really quick. ;D
You are insane man. Amazing... Great job!!
Was a human that played ? Good lord, usually it took me more than 2,5 hours to do the same. Holy cow !
Impressionante.Passei por cada uma dessas fases. Minha infância foi completa com esse jogo
This is guy is real kid chameleon
Fun fact, he mostly gets hit because it saves time on the score screen since he doesn't get a no hit bonus ^^

A gaming god walks among us. Imagine this same speedrun attempted on a real cartridge.
he can't because it's tool assisted, means its literally played by advancing single frames in an emulator and rewinding if something doesn't go perfect. you can't do that on a real console.
Prinny: Holy shit, dood!!
Casey: I dont mess around..
Me: Yay I love this game!! X3 Thanks for posting this awesome speed run!!
16:20 who you gunna call! Kid chameleon Busters!
28:51 There is some writing in the bottom left corner for a split second. (I know its a TAS im just sayin)
Well at least I finally got to see what the rest of the game looked like. I never made it part where he was 6-7mins in
2019 where is my kid chameleon game for the switch or ps or Xbox
This is absolutely amazing!
passei minha infancia inteira jogando kid chamelon e so agora vendo este remake para matar a saudade notei a semelhanca com super mario e sonic
this game is proof that it doesn't take a lot for a platform game to be better than mario.
Making a complete mockery of everything I tried to do as a kid. I got up to the levels around 9 minutes... in about 5 hours, then the game froze.
não, hueuheu isso é um TAS, é um Speedrun, a pessoa que gravou isso teve o auxílio de programas especiais que diminuem a velocidade do jogo transformando o "gameplay" lento num arquivo de vídeo.
Kid Chameleon but Casey has to save the kids in time to be back for dinner
Damn this guy's a pro, bet he chooses to get hit only to prove that he's mortal
Its a very good game and a good run but is made with an emulator and a slow frame for frame tool so, is not valid in the world records but is fun to see. Nice vid
me expliquem : quando ele mata o primeiro chefe, como ele consegue andar fora da plataforma sem cair ????

HOLY SHIT GAIZ A guy called "Peaches" set the world record for this game: Beat it by SEVEN SECONDS less than this guy.

YOU ARE A LEGEND
i wonder if anyone has actually legitimately beaten this game without dying. this game is sooooooooooooo freakin hard
@giygasinfector
Hills of the Warrior 3:41
Forced Entry 17:18
Bloody Swamp 20:40
one of the tougher games of my childhood shamelessly destroyed with tools :)

it took me nearly ten years to complete this and you done it in a half hour haha
You could beat it faster if you use the warp to the last boss from the second level.
i remember this all too well =D
correction watching even further I remember getting to the last marathon or the level before the last boss and died there. but only did that happen once.
That was a screen capture. We don't see save state transitions.
Wait, WHAAAAAAAAAAAT????????? Skycutter was first introduced in Hills of the Warrior I???? What the hell was I missing out on LoLz?n xDDDD
Man how many times did he have to play...just to master that game? How many times? WOW
Saving and loading slots on an emulator, everyone can do this today,
Still a great gameplay
How did they expect kids to get through this without saving???
does anyone else hate the level ice gods vengance?
hold on. i think there was this level where you have to run away from bladed machinery. i don't see the level.
good job
