According to Mario Land 2's manual, Wario took over Mario's castle while he was away during his time away. That means his castle guards couldn't protect a castle for 15 minutes. Wow.

I believe this was the only mario game that wasn’t derected by Miyamoto. So they took a lot of stylistic liberties that he wouldn’t have.

I didn't beat this game when I was just a little boy as THERE IS NO SAVE BUTTON in this game and my parent don't allow me to play for long in each session.
I spend 3 years to pass it... you couldn't save so it has to be in one shot. I was a child :') crying happiness tears when I beat it.

It took me 10 hours of practising
I would scream and smack my gameboy. 😂 I loved and absolutely despised this game, the no-save enraged me because I would get like 70 lives and lose all of them on that last boss . It definitely took me at least 3 years to beat this. I played this game so much that I just played it today after 15+ years and I still remember all the enemies and “secrets”.

This is the first ever game I played! So much nostalgia! I remember some of the music and levels even though I was 3 or 4 years old when I played it.

I was born in 80s. This game was the first game I played on gameboy when my dad bought it from Japan. I beat this game many times and I remember all the music still. My tears came down watching this.

Oh man!! I remember every bit of this!! Brings back so many memories! Probably one of the hardest Mario games to beat. I used to hate the last boss until I finally beat it. After that, I never touched it again. And that ending I do not miss. It would be so annoying after a while and would keep playing the same tune over and over. If you kept it playing, your battery would run out for sure.
+snackz last boss was easy once you'd defeated him a couple of times, I remember vividly the first time I made it all the way to him, sweating like fuck, stress levels through the roof haha! Best game ever. You just have to get right in his face and hammer him with bullets, kills him a lot quicker than staying right back from him.
I feel old :( Those memories are precious , been playing this since I was 6 years old

I remember this! There wasn't a save feature, so you just had to finish the game in one sitting. I only ever finished it once when I was about 7. Such a good game :).
that's crazy man :) one of my first gameboy game and favorite, still playing to this day...i can beat it in like 20-25mins probably, never really tried speedrun, but now watching you probably never will :) awesome gameplay

I almost cried the water level was so good, I love the way you show off with it leaving mushroom grabs til the last second and spinning around the blocks or leaving other things til the last second or risking getting killed just to show how fast you can do it, fuck, so impressive, I'll never play my childhood game the same way again, thanks for the fun video! :D

I didnt pick up this game til I was at least 18 or 19, but the when i saw the ones that walk rushing me with that 2 frame twitchiness for the first time, scared the shit outta me.
It has been a decade since i watched this video, it's nice to see that it is still here. Maybe its just nostalgia but i don't care about how people nowdays make critisism just for using tools or cheats to traverse through a game, as an early YT gaming video it was pretty entertaining.(edit)i never tried to use the link at the very beginning of this video though, maybe it doesn't work anymore.
i will never forget the music. i played this game for hours when i was little. drove with my parents in the car for holidays driving 12 hours and longer and was sitting in the back playing this game the whole time

he's not cheating i do the same thing, its just they didn't have enough room in the cartridge so they made the hit boxes as small as the cartridge will allow to make a full game

I beat this game only ONCE in my whole lifetime when I was like 10 years old. It was super hard for my old 10-year-old self. Like SUPER SUPER hard,
it took a long time cuz as you know, there are NO Savepoints. Close to finishing, my battery almost died. Good thing I got to finish it beforehand. xD

Looks more like he's just outside of Tatanga's hitbox than some sort of invincibility glitch. You go small if you touch him while big, same as any other enemy.
Please tell me that he was cheating there and that this isn’t actually possible...
The enemy needs so many shots to be beaten, it’s not possible to shoot that many times in like a second am I right?
@@roonilwazlib5402 So if you're exactly one pixel outside his hitbox, I think each hit registers in the same frame (approx. 1/60 sec.) the button is pressed because it makes contact the moment it's generated. For button presses to be registered separately,
a) there must be at least one frame between each press, and
b) each press must last at least one frame.
Therefore, the game can theoretically register up to 30 hits per second. While this is extremely difficult for a human player, tool-assisted speedruns such as this one allow for much greater control (i.e. frame-by-frame) over inputs than would otherwise be possible.

This game is a legend, and its theme is one of the best compositions in gaming history. Still more enjoyable than million dollar game craps.

I beat this game when I was a kid. I have it on a bootleg Gameboy cartridge and it took me a day to finish it. Tough stuff but some of the songs and levels were a total surprise to me. At the moment I'm playing TNMT Radical Rescue on Gameboy and it brings up the memories when I was hanging out at my cousins place playing these age-old games.

this game and tetris were my first ever games that my parents bought me about 18 years ago. I watched this to remember the music that i loved about SMLand. I lost my GB and i am very happy to find out that i almost completed the game all those years ago..it was that last boss that i always died.
