bratz were the most empowering cartoons for little girls. the diversity (representation of latinas and black women), the fashion, the confidence and determination, the female friendships, the boss moves, everything. they literally named their fashion enterprise after an insult. such icons!

Bratz are the only ones who are able to style Y2K fashion well, and this is coming from someone who loathes Y2K and 2000's fashion. They were my fashion icons when I was a child and still are to this day.
Yeah they really took the best parts of it, and it’s a bit more mixed with previous decades too, to compare to some Y2K fashion
They usually have the same outfits in the show because it was cost effective.

They aren’t really ahead of their time, a lot of the people dressed like that back in the early 2000s n 90s. Every few years fashion trends and fabs get recycled and become popular again.
Yeah, they were definitely fashion icons, but they werent "Ahead of their time." The reason why we're replicating their looks & style 20yrs later is because fashion is cyclical, so trends repeat & recycle thenselves every 20 yrs.
e. g: the 2010s took inspo from 90s fashion and the 2020s will take inspo from 2000s fashion. The sudden popularity in y2k fashion & trends is inevitable.

The bratz are the earliest memory that I have of the realization of my love for fashion. My sisters had at least one or 2 from each line when I was around 6-8 years old. they would always ask me to pick all the outfits out because they would always served looks when I picked . 😂 they are re releasing the original 4 and I will be purchasing so they can sit in box above my desk because to this day they are still my biggest influence when it comes to styling people.

@@LisaFevral the ones you are referring to are a artist collab that was actually really well don’t the original re releases has started at select hot topic locations in the US and sold out online in less then 5 minutes. they will move online as well as target, Walmart and Amazon within the next month.
@@LisaFevral and yes my mother was a huge fan of them she called it from day one she purchased the first released bratz boys Cameron for me on release day as well. I remember taking it on a plane the next day and people were all asking where we had gotten it. My sisters had a lot of the sets include the prom set the spa set the convertible the like they were obsessed with the bratz this was the first time they really had dolls that they identified with as one of my sisters is lighter skin and the other darker skin so Yasmin and Sasha were there favorite

There was a live action Bratz movie made in 2007 and they did not do justice with those outfits 🙁 please make a part 2 restyling them

I loved this dolls, they definately had good storylines. I remember getting a pack of baby bratz and it was angel😇 and devil😈 twins. Needless to say I was obsessed and wanted all their clothes. I am so so so happy about this whole resurgence cause I can look like what I always dreamt of looking like as a kid?! I even still remember when I bought my first pair of platform boots years ago and thinking "these remind me of Bratz shoes"😭💖
I recently got the perfect pair though (Windsor Smith "Inferno", if anyone is interested in checking them out for themselves!) and this video really gave me a few ideas on how to wear them with my style!!
Really enjoyed watching this I used to love playing with Bratz and Barbie Dolls growing up, I never really watched the Bratz show, bummer but as of late I've been feeling my inner child needs some Bratz in her life so I will be taking your advice and look up some out of context videos of them just for a good laugh

I'm not that familiar with Bratz (only know the fashion and dolls) but I'm so happy they are coming back, the fashion of the franchise is just so good and I'm so happy people take inspiration from it nowadays with their clothes. Now we'll be able to appreciate good looking Bratz animation!

Maybe it's crazy but I AM the one who watched all the episodes, all the movies and their sequels and prequels ... And it wasn't even a childhood. I was an early teen, as if I'm callin the age between 11-13 right. I've just had internet at 2011 maybe and Bratz content was my second addiction in 2013. So, I watched everything till the 2014. And I didn't thing about It as guilty pleasure cuz I had only pleasure watching it. I didn't even realize I was a liiiiittle bit a strange girl :/
bratz was aimed at preteens apparently, so it's not just for small children, I'd say that it's pretty normal age to be into that show and such ahah
im 17 and i rewatched all the movies and the show 💀 and i liked everything
As a huge Bratz fan who still collects the dolls to this day I just wanna say I love how you styled them. I really like how you styled them with their individual styles while still having all four be cohesive and have that iconic Bratz style. Like for example you didn't make Yasmin be super 100% bohemian all the time to the point it seems almost costume-like and i love that. Also idk if you know this but there was actually a live action movie that came out in 2007 and the styling for it was bad imo. They all didn't seem to have distinct styles (like not even a little bit they just looked like typical 2000s teen movie protagonists not even Bratz) besides Jade who just wore an almost all black sort of emo style and although she can be a bit more alternative than the other Bratz she isn't like super emo to the max or anything. Props to you for doing a billion times better than that movie lol.

@@LisaFevral Yeah the whole entire movie just felt like a very typical 2000s teen movie with the Bratz names slapped onto it. It lacked all the signature Bratz flavor that made Bratz as iconic as it was it was very disappointing
@@ooliveoill the thing with bratz content is that even though it was created to sell dolls, and was aimed at pre-teens, the content itself is really funny and well done(the animated series is still fun to watch for that reason). There's also a lot of wish fulfillment, which the movie doesn't give, bc they don't look "cool" like bratz usually do haha
@@LisaFevral Exactly. Like the Bratz are so fashionable all the building blocks to making a decent movie or at least decent styling were right there. Like if they didn't wanna put so much work into it they could've easily taken pieces or even whole outfits from the dolls and make it work as realistic outfits because they were just that fabulous. The thing about remaking Bratz is that most of the time they never have that certain Bratz charm. Like in 2015 I remember they rebooted the dolls for younger kids and made their faces more "kid friendly" and gave them less/softer makeup and gave the whole thing a more child-like and dare I say more barbie-ish vibe. Although it was way better than the live action and was actually pretty fun to watch at the time, it just wasn't what made Bratz so good in the first place. I have heard rumors that they might come out with a new animated series this year in honor of the 20th anniversary and if its true I really hope they do it justice.
@@ooliveoill yeah, it's always surprising to me when ppl make remakes or continue a franchise and entirely misunderstand what made it popular in the first place! bratz outfits are quite realistic and I dont get why they won't just straight up recreate the looks ugh

I always loved bratz I came across a t shirt yesterday I even found the power puff girls.
As I remember, the dolls weren't distributed in the middle east but the controversy around them somehow made it here, because God knows how much I wanted a Jade doll but my aunt who lives in the US only got me Barbies every time.

@@LisaFevral yes, they were. But there was also another doll called Fulla made to be more Arabian and more conservative, the fights between Barbie fans and Fulla fans were spectacular.

Yeah, the girls have descriptions of what they prefer but they also have collections where they all dress up in a certain style together (and in the show they also swap clothes too hehe)

i feel like the show had a very small budget for animation (it just isn't the best) especially since they made it 3d, and so the outfits are really simple and similar compared to all the different styles the dolls wear. you can see that the movies had bigger budgets in the fact that the outfits are more complicated. i don't see why this should be a problem today, definently go off the descriptions of their personalities, because the uniqueness of the characters was so vital to the brand, it would be a shame if that didn't carry through.
I used both descriptions and dolls to help too, but one of the main things is that they still have some bratz flair to them so it’s not like they’re going to be completely within one style, as much as they are more influences that are particular to the girls, like Sasha’s preference for street style or jades experimentation(mix and match of styles)

i honestly think that the whole "this is a bad influence" thing is kinda dumb. like yea, they look insane, they're SUPPOSED to. and no one's getting their legs cut off at the calf to look like sasha or jade. i think barbie is honestly worse, because while barbie portrays a passion for fashion in this weird, little-kid way, bratz portrayed it in a way that made it look ok to girls and boys who played with them, and that it was ok to STILL like fashion as an adult. and while barbie is pining for ken, the bratz girls were just embracing their friendship! yes, they both have issues, but in a lot of ways, bratz is better and more empowering to girls all over the world.
I agree! bratz is exaggerated, even their heads are super big to compare to their bodies. No one looks at them and goes "unrealistic body STANDARD", it's just a toy that actually looks like a toy to compare to barbie, tbh
and yeah, the values in bratz were also a lot better (especially in 2001)
