    Now the first time played this game was when I was a teenager.
    There was an Arcade near the Jr. H.S I used to attend but would ditch until lunchtime sometimes not go to school at all.
    So before class began myself and friends would not go and go to the Arcade instead to waste quarters on video games.
    Later the police would actually come inside the Arcade to look for those who were ditching school but me and my friends were long gone.
    DD 2 brings so much childhood memories!
    Thank you for reliving them!

    I can just imagine the Dev team sitting down and saying: “Okay, we got people interested in our first game with shock value because a girl gets punched in the stomach right at the beginning. Marion WAS actually killed in Double Dragon II on the N.E.S. as well (though just wasn't actually shown to be), but was also resurrected after defeating the Mission 9 boss, unlike this version. She was also the end boss you fought at the end of D.D. III on Nintendo, and was under a spell, which you'd snap her out of by beating her as well.

      No, it's on normal. The enemies on the first two missions don't take that much punishment. Then a bit more in 3 and 4. You should probably play a bit more before calling someone's efforts bullshit and easy mode.

    • @freakyfornash
      @freakyfornash 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @clint45 That's actually not Abobo, but rather a different, though similar character called Bolo. Abobo was the mid/sub boss you fought in the first Double Dragon, while Jick was the Mr. T lookalike, who was the boss of Mission #1 as well.

    • @freakyfornash
      @freakyfornash 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @clint45 Abore is definitely a pain in the ass to deal with for certain, and can kill you pretty quickly for that matter too! I also never realized that the Mr. T boss was actually named Jick up until recently, while Abobo was merely the mid sub-boss in the original Double Dragon as well. That of which wasn't exactly common knowledge up until late, what with Jick not actually appearing in the console versions of the first Double Dragon also.

    • @freakyfornash
      @freakyfornash 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Return Of Double Dragon on the Super Famicom was even better, and was pretty close to what the actual final version was supposed to be also. That despite even if it was still incomplete unfortunately too. I also preferred the arcade versions of the Double Dragon games, save for D.D. III. That of which was pretty awful for the most part, but was at least well done on the N.E.S., despite it's somewhat brutal (but far from impossible, like Battletoads was for example) difficulty to an extent though.

    It’s a shame the home console ports just couldn’t live up to this standard I don’t understand why though the technology was there at the time…

    • @thefonzkiss
      @thefonzkiss 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The tech was nowhere near there at the time. Even the PC and Amiga ports of arcade games in this era sucked, let alone the 8 bit consoles. This was 1998. Long before 16 bit consoles, and even those couldn’t come close to replicating arcade machines.

      @@arelr6822 the nes version did have the Shadow master, mission 9 was added to the NES version but then again the NES version was very different then the arcade version, but the NES version was way better imho. Meh, the ending was what it was, you didn't exactly play Double Dragon or any beat em up for it's story, some dude's girlfriend gets kidnapped, said dude then goes to rescue her and on the way fight hordes and hordes of thugs and saves the day, the stories of most of these games didn't go much deeper then that, but as I said, you played them for the action and not the story, when it was over it was over......
