Same thing happened to me I looked up because the check gauge light came on and the oil pressure was at 0. I pulled over so fast and hopped out my jeep and checked the oil and it was fine. Got sensor replaced and working fine. Now the darn temperature gauge moving from 0-220. 😢
@@NajarOffroad it's for the spare tire. I've replaced the TPS and the magnetic sensor where the spare tire sits and Everytime I start my jeep it does the same thing in your video and have to press the button to stop it above the mirror. Just got done watching your video on how to put a better radio in. My original one just died last month and found a new one on eBay. Thank you for the awesome videos you make.
This started happening to me about a week ago!!! I have the 4.0l but i imagine it's a very similar process. In glad to hear it's not my oil pump! Thanks man! You rock!
The passenger side valve cover gasket is no joke on the 4.7. I had a bad evaporator and heater core. So I did a full a/c system replacement as well as the cooling system. I would have been a total dumb as to not replace the valve cover gaskets so I did. I definitely recommend Fel-Pro gaskets. You don’t want to do this twice Thanks for the video. I got an oil and filter change coming up soon. I’m going to be proactive and just replace the pressure switch then. Standard make professional replacement parts.
Great timing on this video. Was seeing my oil pressure level dropping down to 10 psi when stopped every so often. I know what I'm doing on my next oil change.
I replaced mine last fall after similar fluctuating behavior of the guage. On the 4.0 the sensor is back near the firewall. Thanks for your good videos!
Good video.👍 Just Last week I changed the oil pressure sensor on my 03' WJ with 4.0 because, when I was replacing the rear crankshaft seal I discovered that it was also leaking oil. I did use the pricey MOPAR sensor though. MOPAR Part# 5149097-AA. Also, It looks kind of tight it that area of that 4.7 HO. FWIW, In my WJ with 4.0, I am using a larger oil filter than OEM spec. It is a WIX 51515XP... ...Also it doesn't look like a larger oil filter will fit on your 4.7 HO with that skid-plate on there, but if one would fit, would you consider installing one like a WIX XP next time you change your oil in that WJ and, if so, would you do a short video on it and tell us what one fits?... ...please. 😉
Thanks for the video man but do you know if the oil pressure sensor will also be in a the same location as yours in a 1999 jeep Cherokee limited? I can’t find the sensor in my 1999 jeep
I have a regular 2000 4.7 grand Cherokee! When I slowly let off the gas to slow down, it jumps like it has a misfire! I think it could either be my injectors or I might have thrown the timing off! What do you think?
Looking for a SYE for a 242HD not the J. Tom Woods used to sell but do not currently. I have checked all the other WJ products companies and nobody seems to sell new anymore. Any thoughts?
Off topic, but does anyone know why my 2001 lifted WJ is burning through so many rear axle seals (both sides). I even had a new rear end put in March 2023 and gone through two more. Mechanic though it was the wheel spacers, and removed them two months ago after doing seals and both are blown out again! 🤬
@@danwall5010 everything is stock. 4” Lift kit came on truck when I bought it. Mechanic is even replacing bearings and seals from Mopar every time. He’s stratching his head wondering what the hell’s going on
@@stevemorrison4401 4 inch lift is anything but stock lol. The angle of you're driveshaft is crucial! If you don't have a t case drop it may help with the angle. My lift came with spacers to go above the rear axle and spacers to lower the transfer case to fix the angle. Do you know which 4 inch lift you have? Core? Rough country? IRO? I'm always happy to share knowledge. Hope this helps!
@@danwall5010 Okay, that’s good advice. Thank you I’ll pass that along to my mechanic. Not sure of the lift kit brand other than it’s 4”. I bought the Jeep off a police officer here in AZ. PS my 2004 WJ 4.7 needs a new oil pressure sensor. Just been driving it for 6 months now. I know that it has oil pressure because I have a different oil pressure gauge under my dash. Just getting tired of hearing the beeping when I start up. I'll change it soon
My oil pressure sender/gauge literally started acting up today, it scared the heck out of me, thought the WJ was gone! Great timing. Much love
That’s perfect timing😂

Great video, I've got a 2000,WJ,your videos are very important and very helpful for jeepers, very much appreciated,
Thanks for watching! I appreciate the support
Everyone of these jeeps always have the spare tire sensor gone bad. Great video keep up the awesome work your doing
What’s weird is that it shows the psi for all the tires so idk why it pops up😂

great video as usual! I also have my valve cover gaskets leaking, your situation mightve been leaking onto that sensor you replaced
Great video as always Jonathan!
I did this not too long ago, used the exact same part.
one thing i hate about my wj 1999 is the god damn oil filter location its always so messy but i love the car and the vids
My 2002 4.7L WJ actually has a PS317 so now I'm curious which one of us is right.
mine needed a 6 point socket, not a 12 didnt find out until after i had drained all the oil lol
💪🤠thanks very helpful

What dif and transfer case do you have? How lifted? Do you have a SYE? T-case drop? Have you checked pinion angles?

This scared me the first time my oil pressure dropped to zero. “It’s a Jeep thing!”
At the end of the day it is a 24 year old car!! Thanks
Bro just buy two 5 quart jugs. You pay like $11 bucks for that single quart jug. For another $10 bucks you can get 4 more quarts.
You know what i should have 😂 on Amazon they are $10 off to
Walmart or Costco has the cheapest oil 👍
I have mine set to change every 10k miles
2500 miles for full synthetic....that's expensive.
