The time you’re wasting to drive 12 hours to fix a leaf spring you could be out running loads making money. All that to save a couple hundred dollars doesn’t make sense

It's being able to fix stuff yourself. You need to put a torque wrench on those nuts, not just tighten them as tight as they will go with an impact gun.

Keep springs in stock if your gonna keep overloading that trailer

I think YOU should run your newest truck and new trailer and put another driver on the road also and just maintain your entire fleet to the 9s and make sure your drivers as well as yourself keep close watch on everything while on the road and if there IS a problem just have a local shop fix it.

Could you have taken Jarrod your new trailer, swapped the load to IT and let him roll while you fixed the other trailer then headed back home?

You have the craziest issues ever. Not sayinf my first week out wasn't insane. I end up having the entire right side of my trailer grenade and let's just say I learned alot that day

Looking at the old spring I can't help but to wonder if the trailer in general has been overloaded for the weight its designed for or if the springs are just defective?

This sounds like the same problem with the spring as you had before. I'm wondering if it was in fact that just another bolt broke? I also wonder if it would be wise to just replace all the bolts (with the greasable ones) and the hangers as well and start fresh?

Should have used the big impact for the u-bolt nuts, not that chintzy Milwaukee.
20 hours of round trip drive time, fuel etc shouldn’t come close to making sense for you to do that. My driver would have had plenty of time to sit there and think about his mistake.
Buying the driver a creeper to roll around under there to inspect once in a while what you can’t see from a walk-around would make a whole lot of sense too.

Chant u need to train jarred on how to be somewhat mechanical!! Spend time so he understands how to take care of stupid issues like that and then worry about another driver!! He seems like he's a smart dude so he should pick it up pretty easily!!! That way u aren't wasting 12hrs going out to help him for things like that and u can run!! Or he should have just called a mobile mechanic 1 time bite the bullet and get on with his trip because both of u guys got delayed like a day or 2 right there!!
