It's funny that they make it seem like there's a chance the test wont be successful. Anyone who's ever worked at a theme park knows that nobody (guest or employee) rides until maintenance says it's 100% safe. Employee test rides are a formality.
No ride is 100% safe. Maintenance workers don’t have fresh eyes and mistakes happen

@@fishels3895 I disagree. I'm in maintenance and we all take our job pretty seriously. We keep our perspective fresh and if not, call over others that can give a fresh set of eyes.
Of course no ride is 100% safe, but fresh eyes are a must.
Sounds like you've had a bad experience.
They run them with water filled dummy's to simulate a full train before any human rides.

Well he has to pay close attention to how the coaster feels and the sounds that it makes to see if there's something wrong.

I've never been on this ride. The last time my son and I were out there was 2004. We live in Delaware. I wish there was a much much larger version of this ride. The excitement generated by being on the ride so long at that speed would be tremendous.

I used to work there he doesn't do that everyday maybe a couple times a week. the ride operator's test the rides every morning

Well TTD's launch is as intense as a jet taking off of an aircraft carrier. Something that actually simulates a dragster would be 60-70% more powerful than Do-Dodonpa and expose you to that force for a few seconds

About 40 seconds into the video, he says that the lift takes you to the top of the hill at 22 feet per second. That can't be right; 22 feet per second works out to only 15 mph, and no way is Maverick that slow in getting up the lift hill. Maybe things were different back when this video was made.
No Maverick only goes up the lift hit at about 15 MPH
jpwcpa the coaster is 105 feet tall. 22 feet per second. he reaches the top in 4.8 seconds. THINK.
A coaster traveling 22 feet per second definitely will travel 105 feet in 4.8 seconds, as you indicated. But the lift hill for Maverick is more than 105 feet in length, in much the same way that the lift hill for Valravn is more than 223 feet in length even though the maximum height for Valravn is 223 feet, or the lift hill for Magnum is more than 205 feet in length even though the maximum height for Magnum is 205 feet. The only way to be 105 feet off the ground after 4.8 seconds of traveling 22 feet per second is to go straight up.
