Don't ride the Maverick at dusk in the front seat. It is directly on the lake so tons of bugs come out at dusk. My nephew and I made this mistake last year. After the end of the ride, we were absolutely covered in bug guts...all over our face, hair, and arms LOL

I love how the drop feels, especially at night, you feel like you are plunging into the darkness and the tunnel is awesome at night too, it's pitch black and you can't see anything and then suddenly your launched back out into the lights, it's just an awesome feeling! It's hard to explain but I'm sure anyone who has rode it at night knows exactly what I mean! Ugh I miss Cedar Point, I wish we could go back again this year, we went on Memorial Day weekend and had a absolute blast, I love it so much there!

Maverick is one of my favorite rollercoasters ever. Originally, I was expecting it to be good but too intense that it wasn’t fun but no, this ride is so smooth and those sharp turns are actually really fun same with the inversions! The launch is amazing how it lasts for a very long time before turning. Not to mention, the lake and water smell amazing!
I like this ride but my biggest complaint is the head jerking, seems much more intense then any other intamin ride ive ever been on. like it was almost vekoma status at some parts, just almost. still its a great ride though and you gotta like tense your head to the headrest so your not tossed around as much.
+Raoul Duke Rode it last week and the new restraints are AWESOME. There's a lap bar and OTSRs made of soft foam. I've never been so comfortable on a roller coaster before, especially not one so deliberately violent. Best ride at Cedar Point by a mile, leaves Millie and TTD (both of which I am very fond of) in the dust.
I remember when I first rode this... I was so surprised but happy it took off on that first hill because I hate the slow climbing of the hill cuz I start to get nervous lol but I love the dropping part 😂
I enjoy the fact that as soon as you came out of the launch tunnel, the camera essentialy when blind from the light, as if you had literally died and gone to coaster heaven , which is quite fitting for theis ride. And if you have never been on this ride, and inte d on doing such, go on it at night. The first 2 times i did was night. Even better when you do not know what to expect!
This was a must. We came when the waiting was virtually nothing to no more than 20 minutes, but this one was the oddball with a 1-hour wait. We couldn't figure out why as TTD and MF & GK are equally as popular. Anyway, I knew the fast ascent up the lift hill and the beyond-vertical drop would result in major air time. It it did! The drop is also amazingly fast. I was aware of the second launch in the tunnel, but my friends weren't. That being said, it was a pleasant surprise for them and I still loved it even though I knew it was coming. The ride following the second launch was more intense than I had thought. Though many reviewers complained about their backs hurting when the track would suddenly bank right, left, right, etc, but it didn't hurt any of us. I just simply brace myself and lean into it. This one one of my favorite at the park and I believe it was THE favorite among my group.

It's just one of those rides that make you completely speechless. It was so amazing that I rode it twice in a row with my best friend (we had a fast pass so it was only a 5 minute wait for front seat), and rode it once with my mom, who didn't have a fast pass. So I waited an hour and 30 minutes for it just so my mom would ride it with me and she didn't really want to ride it because she didn't know how amazing it was going to be. I just got back from my first trip to Cedar Point and Maverick was the first Coaster I went on. It was my first coaster at cedar point and i loved it, it was my second favorite if no my favorite next to Gatekeeper and Millennium.
People, this ride is impossible to describe just by watching a video. You have to ride it yourself. Then you will understand why people love it so much.
This coaster was fun. It had down time but we got there right as it opened back up. We only waited fifteen minutes! If you’ve been to cedar point you know I was SHOOK!!!
You should like it. It's wild as hell though. It's hard to really capture how wild it is until you are actually on it. It goes very fast and makes a lot of sudden turns. It feels like you are riding on the back of a "maverick" horse gone wild and you are trying to hang on it.
The Maverick is an amazing roller coaster!! The track is huge and pretty smooth. It is not one of those rides that you get on and get off a second later. My cousin and I waited in line for 1.5 hours. Got off. Waited another 1.5 hours to ride again. You will love it :)
The Maverick has to be the best rollercoaster I’ve been on. Now only is it exhilarating, it’s also very smooth with very well done transitions throughout. I’d even say that it’s better than the Millennium Force. If you don’t like rough rides but love the thrill of rollercoasters, this ride is definitely for you!
Such an amazing ride! But it's so rough on the head!! Other than that this ride is perfect in every way. The drop while not that tall at all really catches you by surprise probably due to the steepness.
***** They fixed that this yer and gave it new soft restraints that rest of your shoulders. I never had headbanging on Maverick but I know lots that did. It is my favorite coaster of all time

Just the way it swerves around combined with the speed would easily make it my fav roller coaster, but sadly I live in Belgium so I don't think I'm visiting this park anytime soon
@@coasterscientist8218 if you stay at a hotel onsite the night before range 130$- etc. You can enter one hour early and theres no one there .we rode maverick twice then MF and steel ven in one houre

This ride is in the top 4 rides in the entire park with the new restraints. It's thrilling and jerks you around like crazy, but it doesn't make you sick at all. Closest I've felt to being a kid again in a long time, besides the MF, of course. Soooo good.

Preach brother. Its #2 at CP now with SteVen but obviously its a lot better than Millennium Force-less.
We rode it at night and omg, SO MANY BUGS. Yes it is fun but we all had to cover are faces and squint our eyes because how bad it was
