I don't know if they'll be allowed to do that actually. The writer of Re:Zero is recorded stating that he doesn't want Subaru to have any "funny" deaths in Re:Zero because that would cheapen the experience of dying and making his deaths a joke. When you think about it, in reality there isn't anything funny about someone dying. Even if Subaru does die in this series, I can't see it happening more than once, and only to make use of return by death.
@@BrisketSurge I think it depends on the amount of control the author has. I know Tappei wouldn't allow for a "comedic death" at the very least. But then again, it would depend on the amount of say the author has. In the shorts that Re:Zero had, I don't recall Subaru ever dying.. though the witch did show up at the end to get her copies of Re:Zero on Blue Ray. Only time will tell, but I think it's so expected by everyone that Subaru will die... that there's a good chance it won't end up happening.

Nope, Kazuma easily has it better. You're forgetting Subaru has another season full of suffering coming up, and if you haven't read the WN or LN there's even more pain and agony after that.
I don't think Ainz thought that Kazuma is very strong. I think the "balancing issues" that Ainz refered to is that Aqua is so strong that she can hurt him, but Kazuma, who's a weak human can hurt Aqua, so there's no straight hierarchy.
I could see an episode where Subaru just trying to get threw the day without being killed by someone ( most likely from overlord) but imagine darkness with the overlord characters who see humans as nothing but ants. And ainz could not beat the kinosuba crew because he would plan for them to do something rational then they’d do the opposite. Ps: what would happen if aqua revived Subaru from death
Kazuma IS broken, he never lost any rock paper scissors EVER, i wouldn't be surprised if Subaru had a death reset at some point and thinks he can beat Kasuma at a rock paper scissors duel he already saw before dying... and still loses it

I think that, instead of comparing this to the original Overlord, it's better to compare it with the Pley-Pley-Pleyades Overlord series (which, if you haven't watch it, do it. It's Hilarious XDD), because it's a series made for the laughs, more relaxed, and also because the characters from this series are the most recurrent in there.

Aqua's hagaromo is pretty much world class item that negate most damage. And her staff that boost her already f*ckton of dmg. Remember that motoyasu have the highest str in konosuba world and aqua can straight punch him with god punch. She is broken as hell, as well as her head
@@tsunderecious2620 You recall wrong. Aqua had maxed out attributes except for luck from the start, but her level still started at 1 when she got dumped into that world. At the end of season2, she something 20 to 30ish.
Considering how Tanya's biggest power comes from Being X's blessed/cursed Elinium 95 rather than just her own power... I wonder if that works in this world. Same for Subaru's Return by Death, considering that this power/curse seems to also come from Satella (according to speculation, but very likely in my opinion).
Partly. Mostly his resistances and mana regen/capacity. He'd still be physically broken with all his gear removed. Also if that happened, I doubt Albedo and Shalltear would be able to keep it in their pants.

i know it is comidic purpose but alot of people is forgetting that Aqua is pretty much Counter to Ainz. most of Aqua's spells is Purifying for undead and demons, vampire. thats her main power.
A lot of people also overrate Overlord's characters. Ainz and Nazarick aren't that strong in the "Isekai OP rating". They just look strong because every other faction in Overlord is just too weak. They're big fish in a small pond.

Ainz is the most popular and beloved Isekai character of 2018, as I recall, judging by the sales of the Light Novels alone, but he's got nothing against the light novel versions of Naofumi or Rimuru.
Analyzing the Aqua vs Ainz moment: I was really excited when Aqua challenged Ainz. As the ray of light drags along the ground towards Ainz I was really curious to see if Aqua could actually do it. It'd be an acceptable outcome regardless as long as the confrontation actually happened. Aqua damaging Ainz with Turn Undead establishes the fact that the aforementioned spell has different properties in Konosuba compared to Overlord. Ainz's magic immunity protects him from any low-tier spell no matter what level the caster is. Based on this scene, Aqua's Turn Undead spell is a high-tiered spell that just has the same name as the weaker spell from Yggdrasil. Aqua damaging Shalltear is very understandable. Shalltear's magic immunity is different from Ainz's as it nullifies any tier of magic as long as the caster is low level. Given the fact that Aqua is a goddess, and the fact that her stats are enough for the guild to celebrate her registering, it's safe to assume her level is high enough to inflict damage on Shallchair when translated into Overlord standards. Honestly, the only thing Aqua needs to stand a chance in a duel with Ainz is defence and intelligence. ... and then I noticed that Shallchair took a bigger hit to her HP than Sasuga-sama. Best-Chair has higher stats than Bone-Daddy. So I gave up analyzing ^_^
She doesn't need much intellegence, because she has enough experience with undead and things like that to sense what Ainz Might try Pull out. And by the way. Don't forget about Aqua's World Class item. The Nagaromo. It neglects any kind of damage.
@@danielantony1882 Not as familiar with Konosuba compared to Overlord. I'm not familiar with her Nagaromo. If that really is comparable to a world class item, then she's even more dangerous to Ainz. Ainz has a human mind with an incredible variety of spells, many of which are not undead related. So I doubt experience is a factor here. She just lacks intelligence to come up with a decent battle plan and a decent enough defence to not get one-shotted after getting time stopped.
Tanya is pretty good at the thing you said about Ainz and Kazuma as well. All the extreme loyalty is after all just a facade when she really just wants to live an easy and safe life far away from the pointy end of the stick. And she got quite the interest and skill in psychology and is good at manipulating others. Tanya might well see through the other people's facades and try to take advantage of it.
Won't work because darkness and megumin knows about kazuma transfer thing but doesn't care the guardians of nazerick won't listen to a human not sure about re zero though.

I meant that Tanya might be able to deduce that Ainz's grandstanding gestures are just a facade, because both of them are hiding their true personalities behind masks that are constructed to maximize their own advantages. Only that in Ainz's case it's actually working, while Tanya's mask usually ends up backfiring on her. ^^ What do Darkness or Megumin have to do with anything?
I really like the OP and ED. ^^ When the songs are sung by VAs you often enough end up with some rather... less than stellar performances, but here there's not a single one of them who sounds bad, which is quite impressive considering how many of them there are. And I love the pixel animation of the ED. It's really charming in a retro style. :D
I want to see a second round between Ainz and Aqua that goes like this: Aqua: Today I will finaly get rid of you, undead! *Sacred Turn Unde-* Ainz: *Grasp Heart* Well, that probably isn't going to happen, since anyone in this group is probably going to die instantly, even to a lower-level spell Death.
Ainz would definitely up his holy protection after that bout. There's also always The Goal Of All Life Is Death + Grasp Heart. Unsure if time stop spells would effect Aqua or not.

I forgot who said it, but someone perfectly summed up the series as Konosuba with an extended cast. I absolutely love Konosuba and it’s comedy and I completely agree. The comedy hits like it does in Konosuba since it’s character interaction based comedy.
One of my absolute favorite things about this series is how they handled the buttons showing up. Normal comedy series characters would just push the button without thinking. For this cast, all four of the groups had major issues with those buttons and extreme circumstances that lead up to them pushing the button. Also, it makes sense that Ainz would have to get the button appearing right under him before he sits down in order to actually push it since he's the most cautious of all four casts, and the rest of Nazarick would be similarly cautious according to his instruction. The best part though is the Kono-Suba cast since they are by far the least cautious of the four casts. We START from their perspective, and they are having a HUGE freaking argument over what to do with the button and how they should be cautious before one of them just casually pushes it. It's not treated as a throwaway gag for any of the groups and actually made a big deal about. It's great.
@@starbound100 Ainz is not really a Hax character, his strength is within the limits of the game he is playing. There are thousands other players who are also level 100 as strong as him in his game right? Aqua however transcends that limit since she is a goddess.

Yggrassil was an EXTREMELY complex game, and only the most dedicated veterans of the game usually reached max level, especially since you can lose levels if you die, and it had open world pvp so yeah. Most of the player population was below level 100, 30-60 is my estimate.

Actually Ainz being a top player is kinda a plothole in overlord story unless Yggdrassil is a really shitty pay2win game (that explains why it shutdown). Being a salaryman in Japan requires 13 hours of work from Monday to Saturday. How the hell is he finding time to grind in Yggdrasil? MMORPG games require A LOT of time to get to the top player list I assume it's the same with VRMMO games.

Touch me was one of (if not the most?) powerful pvp players in the game, so of course Ainz, who's build is meant for PvE isn't going to match up. But given that most of the player population in Yggrasil was below level 100, and the fact that Ainz pretty much knew the game inside out (as far as the game was known), I'd say he definitely wasn't useless. His build wasn't meant for pvp, but he was still one of the most experienced players in the game.

Don`t forget that the Overlord and Youjo Senki makers also are friends . They already had a crossover where nazarick was teleported in tanyas world, and Tanya more or less joined nazarick.

Yeah also did you notice they both had the same reaction when Tanya and her group introduced themselves? That scene was just too funny!! I can´t believe two of my friends (who like Isekai anime) hated this anime because of "chibi art is shit".
I just realized a good way to implement the fact that Nazarick's Floor Guardians would just kill everyone is that they try to, and while Ainz tries to stop them, one of the Guardians kills Subaru, resetting the day. Subaru would then notice that Ainz was trying to stop the conflict in the first place, so he'd tell Ainz ahead of time to keep his Guardians in check so that the massacre doesn't happen. Ainz would probably do so to be safe, and then ponder why Subaru would know what his Guardians would do.
I like that Ains got shocked how Aqua's weak spell was so powerful and said it had some power balancing issues, but people forget that Aqua is already level max level. Maybe 100 is max level? Ains is broken. So hilarious.
She has max stats in anything other than luck and Int, but she still started out at level 1 and is still quite far off of Ainz's level 100. According to people who read the light novel Megumin was level 33 after the fight at the end of the anime's season 2 and Megumin is the highest level person in Kazuma's party. So Aqua's level is in the high twenties or low thirties most likely. Certainly quite far below Ainz's L100. Thanks sosaalexis48 for pointing the missing int out. ;)
@@Norbert_Sattler Aqua stated that she doesn't gain anything from level up because her stats is already at max so it doesn't really matter what her level is. Her "max" stats might also depend on the world's upper limit since she explained that she has been severely weakened because she is in mortal realm. It might mean that her stats are the world's cap.

While they would murder anything that would bring Ainz harm...they've spent their entire time serving him, never seeing him flinch once, never seeing anyone do anything to him that wasn't clearly perfectly planned (at least from their eyes) and then this random chick blasts him so hard he actually yells from shock and one of the stronger floor guardians just drops like a brick. From what in their eyes is a *low* tier spell. Then the foe, the greatest challenge they ever faced...gets dragged off by some other random guy. Pure shock. I don't think even demons would be able to move for a while after that turn of events.
Have you ever seen Aqua get injured? Mentally, yes. Physically, NO. She has tons of defence, HP, and immunity stats as a Goddess. And her Godly items also grant her more. She is just too stupud.
Well the most rules bend would actually be for the cast of Re:Zero, I think. Depending on how far this Subaru has progressed in his own story either Beako or Rem being there, would be causing major issues... But... well... actually I don't really care. Isekai Quartet is hilarious and that's all that matters :D
Tanya's killing sprees come from her self preservation instincts, bloodlust or a chance to get something that she wants. Tanya is not in a position to flex her psychopathy. Being X is not there(yet), killing somebody doesn't farther her goals, and there are beings that she could never take in a fight.
People keep saying that aqua would beat them, buuuut Remember that violence is against the rules so they wont do that Plus, ross-chi, puck and beako are despicted as powerfull too so... there is also that

I still very much doubt Aqua would win in a serious fight. Her stats are crazy, for sure. And she has a type-advantage against them, but they have far, far more fleshed and adaptable builds, skills, and combat tactics. Maybe if she were competent, but she's just not.

Aqua is strong however if she can only use turn undead at a high level and water at a high level, its not really a match against ainz servents besides shalter.
Nah, Aqua had attack spells n shit but ainz has time manipulation, teleportation, flight and also a brain. He can also use any stage of Despair Aura which causes the targets to be scared of him or worse up to the point of insanity

I don't think Ainz thought that Kazuma is very strong. I think the "balancing issues" that Ainz refered to is that Aqua is so strong that she can hurt him, but Kazuma, who's a weak human can hurt Aqua, so there's no straight hierarchy.

I think that, instead of comparing this to the original Overlord, it's better to compare it with the Pley-Pley-Pleyades Overlord series (which, if you haven't watch it, do it. It's Hilarious XDD), because it's a series made for the laughs, more relaxed, and also because the characters from this series are the most recurrent in there.
Pure Pure Pleiades is also chibi like Isekai Quartet for anyone who is wondering.

Aqua's hagaromo is pretty much world class item that negate most damage. And her staff that boost her already f*ckton of dmg. Remember that motoyasu have the highest str in konosuba world and aqua can straight punch him with god punch.

Considering how Tanya's biggest power comes from Being X's blessed/cursed Elinium 95 rather than just her own power... I wonder if that works in this world.

I did not realise how much I needed this series until I started watching, my god this is such a super fun enjoyable series.
i know it is comidic purpose but alot of people is forgetting that Aqua is pretty much Counter to Ainz. most of Aqua's spells is Purifying for undead and demons, vampire. thats her main power.
Shalltear's build is completely counter to Ainz too yet he still beat her. Hurting Ainz is one thing but beating him is another.
A lot of people also overrate Overlord's characters. Ainz and Nazarick aren't that strong in the "Isekai OP rating". They just look strong because every other faction in Overlord is just too weak. They're big fish in a small pond.

Analyzing the Aqua vs Ainz moment:
I was really excited when Aqua challenged Ainz. As the ray of light drags along the ground towards Ainz I was really curious to see if Aqua could actually do it. It'd be an acceptable outcome regardless as long as the confrontation actually happened.
Aqua damaging Ainz with Turn Undead establishes the fact that the aforementioned spell has different properties in Konosuba compared to Overlord. Ainz's magic immunity protects him from any low-tier spell no matter what level the caster is. Based on this scene, Aqua's Turn Undead spell is a high-tiered spell that just has the same name as the weaker spell from Yggdrasil.
Aqua damaging Shalltear is very understandable. Shalltear's magic immunity is different from Ainz's as it nullifies any tier of magic as long as the caster is low level. Given the fact that Aqua is a goddess, and the fact that her stats are enough for the guild to celebrate her registering, it's safe to assume her level is high enough to inflict damage on Shallchair when translated into Overlord standards.
Honestly, the only thing Aqua needs to stand a chance in a duel with Ainz is defence and intelligence.
... and then I noticed that Shallchair took a bigger hit to her HP than Sasuga-sama. Best-Chair has higher stats than Bone-Daddy. So I gave up analyzing ^_^
She doesn't need much intellegence, because she has enough experience with undead and things like that to sense what Ainz Might try Pull out.
And by the way. Don't forget about Aqua's World Class item. The Nagaromo. It neglects any kind of damage.
remember, just before ainz said "i can't get tired but... i'm tired" so it wouldn't be to weird if they got weaker in that world
@@danielantony1882 Not as familiar with Konosuba compared to Overlord. I'm not familiar with her Nagaromo. If that really is comparable to a world class item, then she's even more dangerous to Ainz.
Ainz has a human mind with an incredible variety of spells, many of which are not undead related. So I doubt experience is a factor here. She just lacks intelligence to come up with a decent battle plan and a decent enough defence to not get one-shotted after getting time stopped.

When the songs are sung by VAs you often enough end up with some rather... less than stellar performances, but here there's not a single one of them who sounds bad, which is quite impressive considering how many of them there are.

One of my absolute favorite things about this series is how they handled the buttons showing up. Normal comedy series characters would just push the button without thinking. For this cast, all four of the groups had major issues with those buttons and extreme circumstances that lead up to them pushing the button. Also, it makes sense that Ainz would have to get the button appearing right under him before he sits down in order to actually push it since he's the most cautious of all four casts, and the rest of Nazarick would be similarly cautious according to his instruction.
The best part though is the Kono-Suba cast since they are by far the least cautious of the four casts. We START from their perspective, and they are having a HUGE freaking argument over what to do with the button and how they should be cautious before one of them just casually pushes it. It's not treated as a throwaway gag for any of the groups and actually made a big deal about. It's great.

Yggrassil was an EXTREMELY complex game, and only the most dedicated veterans of the game usually reached max level, especially since you can lose levels if you die, and it had open world pvp so yeah. Most of the player population was below level 100, 30-60 is my estimate.

Being a salaryman in Japan requires 13 hours of work from Monday to Saturday. How the hell is he finding time to grind in Yggdrasil? MMORPG games require A LOT of time to get to the top player list I assume it's the same with VRMMO games.

Erm, not really. Touch me was one of (if not the most?) powerful pvp players in the game, so of course Ainz, who's build is meant for PvE isn't going to match up. But given that most of the player population in Yggrasil was below level 100, and the fact that Ainz pretty much knew the game inside out (as far as the game was known), I'd say he definitely wasn't useless. His build wasn't meant for pvp, but he was still one of the most experienced players in the game.
Daniel Antony i believe Ainz did have a dedicated pvp build, but he was using a pve/RP build when he Got summoned

I just realized a good way to implement the fact that Nazarick's Floor Guardians would just kill everyone is that they try to, and while Ainz tries to stop them, one of the Guardians kills Subaru, resetting the day. Subaru would then notice that Ainz was trying to stop the conflict in the first place, so he'd tell Ainz ahead of time to keep his Guardians in check so that the massacre doesn't happen. Ainz would probably do so to be safe, and then ponder why Subaru would know what his Guardians would do.
I like that Ains got shocked how Aqua's weak spell was so powerful and said it had some power balancing issues, but people forget that Aqua is already level max level. Maybe 100 is max level?

She has max stats in anything other than luck and Int, but she still started out at level 1 and is still quite far off of Ainz's level 100.
According to people who read the light novel Megumin was level 33 after the fight at the end of the anime's season 2 and Megumin is the highest level person in Kazuma's party.
So Aqua's level is in the high twenties or low thirties most likely. Certainly quite far below Ainz's L100.

Have you ever seen Aqua get injured? Mentally, yes. Physically, NO. She has tons of defence, HP, and immunity stats as a Goddess. And her Godly items also grant her more. She is just too stupud.

Tanya's killing sprees come from her self preservation instincts, bloodlust or a chance to get something that she wants. Tanya is not in a position to flex her psychopathy. I still very much doubt Aqua would win in a serious fight. Her stats are crazy, for sure. And she has a type-advantage against them, but they have far, far more fleshed and adaptable builds, skills, and combat tactics. Maybe if she were competent, but she's just not.

Nah, Aqua had attack spells n shit but ainz has time manipulation, teleportation, flight and also a brain. He can also use any stage of Despair Aura which causes the targets to be scared of him or worse up to the point of insanity
