Autool CT400 - 2.0 FSI GDI Injectors

- Set of VW/Audi 2.0 FSI injectors (non turbo) sent in for testing due to rough running and occasional misfiring on a customers recently purchased vehicle.
Initially, injector three was blocked so with that cleared all four were flowing.
Back on to flow testing it was evident injector 1 was producing far more than the other three, ummmmm.
With little investigation it was clear someone had previously changed out the original injector and replaced it with one from a TFSI (turbo variant).

With the unit comes some leads with small spade terminals that can be used
Do you recommend this tester or are there any better like launch or powerjet ?
For me yes this is great. ASNU I believe is the top brand to have but of course at top brand money. I’m very happy with my machine though.
I measured mine injectors and 1/4 had 3cc deviation from the test at 10bar after cleaning. Is it ok?
Ideally they’d match across all injectors but should be ok. I’ve seen worse.
How do you know which voltage to set the machine at? The 12v, 70v, or 120v selector.
12V is normal style injector, 70 or 120 is GDI so you need to check the manufacture specs, or just start at 70 with all GDI and if no go then you know 120 is needed 😉
Can this machine test low impedance (1-2 Ohm) injectors proberly ?
Apart from side feed injectors, I’ve not experienced any issues testing injectors with this machine 👍🏽

How you know the voltage?
Normal rail fed injectors are 12v
GDI can be either of the two higher voltage, if you don’t know, start with the lower voltage but you should research the injector so you know for sure 👍🏽

Sure. White sprits for injector testing and ultrasonic cleaning solution for cleaning them.

Can you try conventional MPFI injectors with this ct500 model?
It can't work. With such an impulse under pressure, the nozzle will not be able to open.
Not sure what you’re saying here as it does work and I’ve done a good few sets of GDI injectors now 🤷🏽♂️
