I love watching these videos in large part because the environment is so utterly foreign to my experience. I live in Florida and the thought of skiing, on a frozen lake, to a snow covered island just doesn’t process in my brain! Lovely little adventure, as always. Thanks for sharing.
@@zanani57 Yes I do know that Hilleberg production takes place in Estonia albeit it is a Swedish company. Trangias are still made in Sweden I think but I'll stand correcting if wrong. Either way they are great products.
There a difference between below tree line and above tree line winter camping. I wouldn't recommend solo above the tree line for beginners. Checkout my latest video to see some blizzards and whiteouts.

Erik your vids are very unique... not much talking if any, so well put together, not sure if you read the comments but if you would possibly be open to a suggestion?.... I’ve noticed that some of your captures are in very heavy storms so if possible to maybe a 2 or 3 day vid that includes all the sounds of the storm would be fabulous. Please also if I may say that a longer video in this case would be most enjoyable even 45-60 minutes plus if only for the sound affects which you are a master.. :-)

Yet another beautiful video Erik! You always capture the beauty of each moment. Simple thing as that gentle snow tapping on the tent, shell jacket etc. that detail and sound is probably the most relaxing sound there is, wonderful!
What you can do is , take 2 bottles that will fit in your boots. At fill them with hot water and put them in your boots.. over a time you`re boots are fine warm....
Mathijs Vijn Yes, but hot water is not always easy to get when you wake up in the morning and can’t get your feet into the boots 😅 When it happens I have used my gas-stove to defrost the boots inside the tent or snow cave, but it takes some time and is not very convenient. But I keep them in my sleeping bag to prevent that, although the bag become moisty from it 🤷♂️ I have been thinking about putting something inside the boots to keep them wide when they freeze, so my feet still get in 🤔
The Outbound Swede , im thinking right now. There are reusable handwarmers. Maybe this will work. They’re light. The only downside is that to reactivate you have to boil them in water.
Mathijs Vijn Yeah, that could do if they can stay warm long enough 🤔 Boiling water is quite time consuming when it is very cold but once you have your fire going it will at least be possible 👍
