    Nice video. I used to do centrifuges a lot. There was a particular old model of Eppendorf that had rubber motor mounts that would suspend the motor. They would crack and split, make the rotor sag and it would rub against the inside causing smoke and a burned plastic smell. Also saw a lot of worn out gas springs on bigger units making the lids crush user's hands. Good luck with the re-assignment to lab.

    This is great. I love your videos. I learn so much from them. Dont get overwhelmed, although its easy to say that. Do what you can do, save the rest for tomorrow

    So I like tinkering with devices of all types and after so many you see where some drew inspiration from the other. The difference between this and an espresso maker is small. Instead of your driver for the motor youve got an ic board for checking thermistors, resistor heater controllers, solenoid controls, ect. The soleniods would open and close valves to dispense water or coffee. Micro switches to detect open lids. Just something I found interesting.
    3:06 I learned something new and I have a basic understanding of electrical engineering and available components but ive never heard of a four pole magnet or quadrupoles. All magnets are still only two poles but they arrange four magnets in a certain way with same polarity facing and pushing away from each other but leaving the opposite and attracting polarity to its 45 and 315. I might try making one now and thanks

    I will respect my meter more now that I know they are accurate to the exact digit, and those biomass merry-go-rounds have an impressive controller to nail the rpm like that. Thank you

    Getting a almost exact double rpm reading from my tach on a drucker 755V-12, stray reflective mark? Never had it happen before when checking RPM.

      Use a black sharpie to color the rest of the surface except for the reflective tape. Also, be sure that the correct rotor is programmed (if a programmable centrifuge).

    Great video! Can you do a video of a PM on cell washers?

    @Better Biomed Channel Great video, thank you for this. Question: As a new viewer, I want to know more about speciality areas for a BMET. As a career option, Ive taken notice of dentistry equipment repair. Have you thought about making videos that target certain special areas; or maybe you have made a video already? How can a BMET be different or creative professionally in a feild that may be saturated making it difficult to also find employment? My constant thoughts 🧐🤔

      Those are some excellent questions. I have always intended to make a video showing some of the special areas of biomed. It's such a complex topic that I always wanted to have as much material as possible for filming to do it justice.

      Hey, just want to let everyone know, there are a ton of resources on Fluke Biomedical in Advantage Training. They cover this topic as well. Also, if you are a new Biomed, like me, you can start the Medical Decive Quality Assurance modules, and learn so much about mutli vendor Biomed. Just in case you have people who will not train you, like i do. Good luck!

      I actually enjoy working on centrifuges. I hate cell washers due to the rust and frozen bolts. 😟

    What is the issue with the clay Adam serfuge 2000? There is also a plasma thawer toward the end of video.

    • @BetterBiomedChannel
      @BetterBiomedChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      One issue was the rotor had vibrated on the drive shaft and caused a harmonic and wear. A very light coat of high viscosity grease stopped the galling and go rid of the rotor squeak

      @@BetterBiomedChannel , i have bought 2 "For spares or repair" from Ebay.
      One was a quick fix, and had only a blown "Rifa" safety capacitor, the other one is completely dead, no display whatsoever and not yet the time to diagnost the real problem. I first need to build a 1:100 attenuator for multimeter and scope to measure the output of the powersupplies. They have a output of 3Kv @ 150mA max, and need a load to enable the output.
