Nobushis dodge attack has zero I frames..... None what so ever. I dont play her, but I feel for those that main her. They gave all her frames to Tiandi😒
In order to dodge with nobushi you can either A. Dodge at the(near) last second so it works like a normal dodge B.use her Hidden stance to quickly do a heavy or light(depends on the situation but the kick guarantees a light and if you wallsplat then a heavy is guaranteed) C. Delay the dodge attacks(either heavy or light both work)since that will increase the length of the dodge. but since this game hates nobushi dodges none of these are gonna work all the time but i hope that this will help with some of the issues Also i forgot to point out that you can dodge then go into hidden stance
It's because Nobushi's dodge attacks aren't actual dodge attacks, they're a special attack done after a dodge input. When you input either light or heavy after a side dodge, it stops her dodge and begins the attack, which is why it seems impossible to dodge anything if you input it like a regular dodge attack. The only way to use them as actual dodge attacks is to dodge the attack normally, and either light or heavy once you've already dodged the attack. Think of them as more of a follow up to a successful dodge than a counterattack on it's own.

Because while this game has a skill ceiling, every character opens the possibility to an easy meta solution to most problems in the game. No characters are balanced, many characters counter each other, others counter nobody. Unlike a game like Chiv 2, where the weight is placed more on your skill than your weapon choice, For Honor is in such a way that you could probably just pick up a meta hero and get a distinct advantage over most people because of multiple reasons like: fast lights, bad animations, massive damage, multipurpose kit, etc. There is a lack of freedom in getting to play the character you want because maybe you like how they look, or you like their executions, but their kit is absolute garbage and makes playing the game a chore. When you’re finally playing the character you want to, and you die to someone else (for being smart, but angry people aren’t rational) you’ll probably feel like they’re being annoying as hell, since you feel aggravated being defeated on your most comfortable character.
Here’s a little combo for people wanting one with nobu: light, heavy, back light, dodge (light or heavy) kick (or keep dodging) light heavy and you’ll probably be out of stam but it’s a pretty good combo if you pull it off fully
It's a lil risky since the cobra strike is 600ms and the sidewinder is also 600ms. It's usually best to enter hidden stance after a vipers retreat so you have some spacing and you have time to see what the opponent does. If the opponent tries to throw a light, he'll whiff which you can punish wish double lights.
i really like opening with the zone to side heavy soft feint (mix it up by feinting the heavy into a gb) which almost always lands for half a match, then i go kick and either 3 lights to vipers retreat if i think i can land it or just vipers retreat to initiate bleed, leaves you in an amazing position right from the start of the fight and has them anxious and out of their game already, when they start to read the zone to heavy you can go zone to kick or just basic zone which does heavy bleed on the final poke if you land it, and if they’re able to parry the zone (most players can’t, if they block it you’ll usually still land your follow up) then don’t use it as an opener nor from neutral, but mix it in mid combat - honestly this is my biggest tip for nobu and has me dominant in most matches with her against almost any lobby (im rep 31 and i take out rep 500s with this and some smart subsequent play to finish) - also, never try to whiff the zone to land the soft feint, all they have to do is throw a light to knock you out of any feint option. also, bonus tip; do not overuse hidden stance or abuse kick (or lights lmao) with nobu, this is the biggest mistake i see other nobus make and theyre all very easily counterable. people think nobu is so much more basic than she is, or think she only has a few viable moves, but using the same moves over and over again will make you easy to read and counter as any hero. when you mix these tools up well, nobu is surprisingly viable and people never expect a tricky nobu. people are also far too scared to throw heavys with nobu, but theyre never expected from a nobu as long as theyre timed right.
A few things I noticed u not using that could help u out in the future: Her kick recovery can be canceled by hidden stance, which may allow you to dodge some dodge attacks like LB’s dodge bash. The back light recovery can be canceled by a dodge and so can the recovery of all her dodge attacks, this may also save you from some dodge attacks. HS+kick allows you to punish certain bashes and low recovery attacks pretty consistently, like BP’s bash HS can be canceled with a dodge, allowing you to almost double dodge like shinobi and also allowing you to negate certain mixups like HL’s kick/grab, kensei’s finisher mixup, etc.

Not to mention that if you dodge and heavy immediately, your dodge is cut short and you will barely move and will likely get hit by then enemies swing. 4. If you can, try to stack your bleeds, even if it means a little light spam, Nobu will do tons more dmg if you can land 3 lights then a vipers retreat (backwards light) then you can start your heavies and zone feignts (can't spell that word just ignore it xD) 5. Dodge, hidden stance, dodge is so good against characters that can start infinite chains (Aramusha, Conqeror) or just characters that have longer light chains like Kensei or Gladiator so definitely utilise that. Hope this helps! 🥰

Nobushi has a dodge recovery (but only if it is a dodge attack) on her back step light, so a very efficient way to make someone bleed is to do three normal lights, while getting the bleed on the third, then doing the back step light into a dodge light. After that a kick and light follow up is heartbreaking and if you really want to do a mix up you can do another dodge attack (Nobushi has dodge attack recovery on everything it seems) but you can only do a dodge attack followed by a dodge attack if it is done in a different direction. This includes forward dodges. Nobushi is the root if all evil I say.
during raiders wiffing heavies, you can vipers retreat into dodge cancel to get free damage if you time it right instead of going for a light for some reason.
8:10 Just wanted to point out here since you're learning nobu, if you buffer her dodge heavy you lose your i-frames. You have to delay the heavy input a bit to actually have i-frames. Awesome video as always! :)

you’re probably told this but a good combo for after nobus undodgeable heavy you can back step light into a dodge attack (light or heavy) and then undodgeable or kick again
Nobushi is actually a pretty solid counter to glad given that she can cancel both her backstep poke and hidden stance into a dodge, the only downside being that sidewinder has no I-frames so you have to time the attack after the dodge.
That LB, the salty one, was me. Sorry mate, was having a bad day and getting poked in the eye didn't really help. The fact that you can keep your cool amazes me. And now that I've also played nobu, I can see that my play style isn't all that different than how you played against me. So, thanks for teaching me how to play Nobu, and sorry for the salt.
Bro the undodge able would’ve put a stop to his bash real quick, zones hidden stance and unblockables are nobus bread and butter, the kick helps too but it’s easy to dodge. As a nobu main I thought I might put my two cents in lol you’re still crazy good at the game love the content man!
In the first match with kensei, everytime you used Hidden stance I was sat here like "Why though?" Timed right hidden stance avoids attacks, 100% more salt for the punish when you do that. Also, viper's retreat dodge cancels so follow it up with a light-dodge or side heavy dodge, if the situation calls for it.

4. If you can, try to stack your bleeds, even if it means a little light spam, Nobu will do tons more dmg if you can land 3 lights then a vipers retreat (backwards light) then you can start your heavies and zone feignts (can't spell that word just ignore it xD)
5. Dodge, hidden stance, dodge is so good against characters that can start infinite chains (Aramusha, Conqeror) or just characters that have longer light chains like Kensei or Gladiator so definitely utilise that.
Hope this helps! 🥰
I’m a Nobu main as well, but far less hours than you. I feel like offensively I’m fine, but defensively I suck ass. I used to hidden stance a lot, but when I started picking up her soft faint zones, I completely neglected HS. My brain is like a sieve. Any info I take it, it just gets thrown out the window moments later.
@@Adonisrose7493 the brain like a sieve thing? SO RELATABLE. I'm trying to learn Shaolin atm and information on what to do to get better goes in one ear and out the other 😅
@@kxk6096 Shaolin looks crazy fun to play, but seems very complicated. I can barely feint or parry properly. I like his super exaggerated animations and sounds, but tryna learn him will be impossible for me.
Finally, nobushi content
Word of advice though, when he punches and goes to impale you as a glad, quickly dodge. It doesn't track you and it's long enough to dodge.
Fr?
@@za3739 yes
@@za3739 yes, it's actually kind of annoying when you're the glad 😂
@@SkaterBlades I'll bet, that's one of his only mixups just gutted
@@za3739 I generally don't see gladiators able to follow up on their punches because the only thing they can do is a heavy i believe, which can be both parried and dodged. Kinda makes you think about the purpose of that move
"why is he salty" probably cause he can't find all the weak spots in nobushi or because he noticed your name and thought it probably be funny (My guess)
Nah, I was just having a really bad day and had a lot of bad matches.
Enemy: Emote spams
Nova: So you have chosen free content
As Nobushi, Vipers Retreat is under utilized. That move really be checking people
Nobushi is a surprise to be sure but a welcomed one
Nobushi has a dodge recovery (but only if it is a dodge attack) on her back step light, so a very efficient way to make someone bleed is to do three normal lights, while getting the bleed on the third, then doing the back step light into a dodge light. After that a kick and light follow up is heartbreaking and if you really want to do a mix up you can do another dodge attack (Nobushi has dodge attack recovery on everything it seems) but you can only do a dodge attack followed by a dodge attack if it is done in a different direction. This includes forward dodges. Nobushi is the root if all evil I say.
That is the funniest thing ever ppl chose to be toxic but get so salty when they get destroyed 😆😆😆
Nova people like you who are so calm but can roast anybody while chilling are scaring me
13:53 he might lost his head there, but he already lost his mind long time ago
during raiders wiffing heavies, you can vipers retreat into dodge cancel to get free damage if you time it right instead of going for a light for some reason.
8:10 Just wanted to point out here since you're learning nobu, if you buffer her dodge heavy you lose your i-frames. You have to delay the heavy input a bit to actually have i-frames. Awesome video as always! :)
I think nobu is harder to fight than raider. She just doesn't stop attack and her undodgeable heavy always gets me
Love seeing the new characters and stuff! Keep up the good content!
Oh Nova I sure hope you come across that 🗑 again and teach him a lesson with either Orochi or Kyoshin.
I'd appreciate the chance to show I've grown as a person. Can't make any promises on how the match will go though. I'd say it'd end with Nova winning 3-0. And yes, I'm that Lawbringer. And believe me, after watching that video, I hate myself more than everyone in the comment section combined.
11:44 Those flames popping up after that burn are no coincidence
Late I know but I just recently picked up For Honor again (haven't played since before Marching Fire) and I've been watching a lot of content and you are the first person I've ever heard comment on the keeping your cool thing and it being the hardest skill to learn. That is prolly the most accurate thing I've heard someone say about his game
Just a quick tip with nobu if you didnt know if a glad goes for bash-skewer, you can hidden stance dodge the skewer and get a free heavy
I love novas intros and I love nobushi
imagine not only being salty, but also get caught in 4K, man life is forever branded.
“It is a skill to keep your cool in this game” you’re not fucking wrong 😭😭
Learning the skill of keeping cool will win you a lot of games
There should be a documentary series about trying to understand the toxic people of for honor
"People Need to Learn to Accept Losing"
immediately dies in the first round of the vid
Change yo pfp Lmfaoo
God I was getting annoyed just seeing this lawbringer emote spamming let alone being in that position, hats off to you for keeping your cool with people like this lmao
You're right.... The hard part of these games is to accept defeat. Unfortunately people can't admit that a person is stronger.
I was hoping he (Nova) picks orochi in the 2nd rematch :(
It would have been too easy for him 😂
Lmao that dead silence after 11:43
Nova people like you who can diss anybody while being completely calm are scaring me
I'm literally dying rn 🤣🤣 right below this vid was a video about a blue viper xD
Nobu is my main so this video was great , love to see u play more
Its just a fact … every time i play Nobu or other Samurai/Wulin i get bullied and lots of hates…. I always get the wow when i play Nobu
But if i play Knights “Popular Bieber/Swift fans” no one hates me…. He switched LB to another headache Glad, And i know there are millions mental cases of LB, Conq, BP, Cent, Glad, Gryphon mains
I admit, I do not have the healthiest mentality. I am that LB, and just watching that video made me realise how animalistic and idiotic I look when I get mad over a game. But thanks to Nova King, I can clearly see it, as if someone just shoved a mirror at my face. Man I hate myself.
as a tryhard tekken player, i have to say you set the right example here. don't taunt back because the sweetest revenge is victory :)
Nova, my hat is off to you sir, its people like that LB that makes people stop playing this game, he literally had NO reason to be salt mode, slapping him down made me smiles :)
as a side note, the female Raider and Tiandi are THE most annoying characters in terms of voice lines in the game, Warmonger being a close second, you MUST be a serial killer to play them XD
I know this is an old video bro, but I gotta say, I love how cool calm and collected you are 🙏🏽
you’re probably told this but a good combo for after nobus undodgeable heavy you can back step light into a dodge attack (light or heavy) and then undodgeable or kick again
and it’s better to delay her dodge attacks while using it to dodgr an attack or bash because usually without delay the opponent will hit
nobushi max perry out of stam punish is dodge forward light into heavy
One of the best brawlers bro Absulute good content
Hmm nobu just like orochi has dodge recoveries. After the final hit in your combo you can dodge to cancel the long recovery.
Seems like you didn't know about it during this video. You can zone soft feint to kick just as well as you can soft faint to undodgable heavies.
A nobushi that knows how to press r2 already subscribed
This video has inspired me to go back to my first ever main
Love the content
hey NovaKing I really like your Videos keep em up they're really nice!
and i've got 1 Question, where did you get those For honor map cinematics? :)
Nobushi is actually a pretty solid counter to glad given that she can cancel both her backstep poke and hidden stance into a dodge, the only downside being that sidewinder has no I-frames so you have to time the attack after the dodge.
Lawbringer Fight :why the one top attack go through, his parrie was on the top,but he gets hit.
He miss timed his parry
Nova you make nobushi look so good. Not gonna play her but man that was cool to watch. More please
Nobushis that other people face: 0:10
Nobushis that I face: 1:30
That LB, the salty one, was me. Sorry mate, was having a bad day and getting poked in the eye didn't really help. The fact that you can keep your cool amazes me. And now that I've also played nobu, I can see that my play style isn't all that different than how you played against me. So, thanks for teaching me how to play Nobu, and sorry for the salt.
"I don't know why he's so upset"
Increases light spam
This is what I like to see
Had a rep 200 tell me that feints and parries are a crutch I have no words
Just found this dude and I already love him lol
Nobody is better with nobu than paino.
Babe wake up, Nova King uploaded
"Some questions can't be answered" Boi just swing your sword already
Your stamina preservation is amazing gud vid
Bro the undodge able would’ve put a stop to his bash real quick, zones hidden stance and unblockables are nobus bread and butter, the kick helps too but it’s easy to dodge. As a nobu main I thought I might put my two cents in lol you’re still crazy good at the game love the content man!
Vipers retreat catches the dodge on the kick
In the first match with kensei, everytime you used Hidden stance I was sat here like "Why though?" Timed right hidden stance avoids attacks, 100% more salt for the punish when you do that. Also, viper's retreat dodge cancels so follow it up with a light-dodge or side heavy dodge, if the situation calls for it.
dear god, this man's playing like there's money on the line
It's fair to say spammy characters like Nobushi, Orochi and Berserker can be played with alot of skills and mixup, it's just easier for so many people to play like donkeys wich gives them a bad reputation
I love how he calls you annoying when he puck characters with almost on demand 50/50s lmaoo
10:55 that's the words of defeat right there.I love it when unintelligent and ignorant ppl like this guy resort to swearing when they can't win an argument.
I never knew you could follow with a back light after the undodgable side heavy
Yeah ita a recovery cancel, Nobu is hella underated cos ppl think shes just a lightspamming character
People get salty no matter what you do, play the game exactly how it was intended and they are upset
You are a gentleman sir. I would have punched a hole in my monitor..
When I see a nuboshi online it ALWAYS lights spams. There’s rarely ever a time when they don’t spam.
perfect example why I have almost no fun at for honor anymore I mean I only fight against light spam Dodge Spam it just annoys and then they think because they light you spam that they are somehow much better than you when you are executed once you are the toxic it just annoys but it is nice to watch your videos
The zero to death was nice
love your vids man. dont understand people like this either
It’s enjoyable watching fights where skill is used instead of spamming gb (knights and viking)
Well their kit is based around that so idk
skill dude playing nobushi
Gotta lose to win it's how it works. When people leave a match of dominion cause it's not going their way in the first 2 minutes, it nourishes me
I would love to see Nova vs Faraam or Pain0!
That mic drop tho 11:42 🤩
I was honestly rooting for that lawbringer just because he was lawbringer, but stopped right when he edge walked
you ever just see a combo or an ass whooping that just makes you whisper *oh.. my .. gawd* to your self? that was that first match for me. that unending combo into the railing.. jesus..
Dude spams bashes, toe stabs, and pushes and talks smack. For Honor will forever be a swamp.
Food for thought bro. You should work on stamina management. Most of the time you end up losing to that law was losing stamina so fast from throwing lights. You could've bested him if you focused on your stamina.
Nova had to hold back the comment that ends his whole life
