I've adopted 4 dogs from them, the last dog I adopted in October was extremely dirty when I took him home. When I bathe him the water was so dirty, he was super skinny and he also wasn't fixed which was unusual. All the dogs we got previous was fixed and clean when we got them. We knew something was off when we got the last dog but we had no clue what was going on at the shelter.. this now explains it! 😲 So sad.

They are contracted by the city. The contract needs to be terminated or the shelter must be regulated. At this point Clark County is as responsible as The Animal Foundation

The only staffing difficulties are directors making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, while showing no leaadership at all. Look at Apple Valley, California with a director making $380,000. Believee or not, they are worse than this shelter. It happens all over the couuntry with county governments just helping themselves & each other. It needs to be overseen on a federal level.

You guys should look into OC Animal Care in Tustin, CA - The current administration is so aloof to the community complaints. They use wording and percentages to create a smoke screen for what's happening there. Furthermore, they are doing adoptions by appointment only, they accept walk-ins as in they'll make an appointment for them at the lobby, for a specific animal. The public is not allowed to walk the kennels. We've got pictures of dirty kennels, and dirty food, they only have 2 kennel attendants for 400 kennels. Dogs are not walked daily. They eliminated the enrichment and behavioral programs. They rely HEAVILY on Rescues and shelter transfers to keep their "Live-release" percentage up, while completely overwhelming the local rescues and non-profits. They do not intake stray cats, they tell people to put them back where they were found. Most dogs leave the shelter without getting fixed, only with a liability waiver saying they have to come back to get them fixed or provide proof of sterilization. They discontinued their TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) program for feral cats, creating an even bigger overpopulation issue.
The director gets paid almost $300K with benefits. She is barely at the shelter AND she has worked HR all of her life, ZERO animal welfare experience.
The county board of supervisors and the county CEO are as aloof as they are, and continue with their alternative facts to distract the general public. Meanwhile, dogs are suffering because they are isolated; they are developing "behavioral" issues and being put on the euthanasia list because of it. There is a petition with more than 10,000 signatures asking the shelter to open up without restrictions. This is not right.

I would've been camped out on the shelter's doorstep the minute I knew they were there. I feel so very sad for the family. She should sue them. They took the dogs, then listed them as strays which gave them the ability to kill them faster. Take note: SHELTERS EVERYWHERE ARE OVERCROWDED & THE FIRST TO BE KILLED ARE 'DIFFICULT DOGS' . ALWAYS MICRO--CHIP. ALWAYS HAVE TAGS & COLLAR. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR DOGS OUTSIDE (for several reasons). IF YOUR DOG IS MISSING, GET TO THE LOCAL SHELTER ASAP. GO THERE EVERYDAY, EVEN IF THEY WON'T LET YOU IN. SHELTERS KILL THOUSANDS OF DOGS EVERYDAY....EVEN PUPPIES.

WHAT?! A shelter drops off a stray in the area where it was found? No. Unless it was completely feral, & if that was the case, it would've been "ear-tipped" (tip of ear clipped to show it was neutered) after surgery. I call bullshit.
