You forgot the greatest perk..... teaching your children to ride their bikes in an empty parking lot and later teaching them how to parallel park in a school parking lot! That's what we did!
I used to practice with four kids in soap box derby cars on that same spot... put up cones, hone the driving skills. 2 of them ended up winning the local and going out to Akron OH for the All American Soap Box Derby Race too!
While this is not the home of my dreams specifically, I can see great potential and it's very reasonably priced!
Anything but rent and so so close to school and edge of town country trails!

I just thought of something that might be a little bit of a negative for grumpy old people like me 😅. I've lived near schools before and it can get very loud with kids screaming all day while they play. School busses hold up traffic, kids walking on your grass (stay off my grass! 😅 👵🏽) Busy, busy with 2 schools right there. Wouldn't particularly bother me, but some people take into consideration noise levels and commotion 😕. This would be great for families with kids though!! ❤

My dad used to have a little room in the basement where he would tinker with electronics. He actually built a TV diwn there in the 70's. Always smelled like solder. The moment I saw that room, I thought of that. Then when you mentioned what it was used for in the past, I was floored lol.

@@Gemma_626Walkway on the other side of the street that dead ends... morning recess, one at lunch and no one hollering at the top of their lungs all day here. Usually intown you have lots of neighbors with dogs, kids, hobbies but this home location is sought after.

I lived near the Houlton High School and there was traffic from 7:30 to 8 AM but not during all summer, not on weekends, not at night and only during the school year. When I flew the drone, shot this video no traffic what so ever because dead end street quiet and the end of the line. The convenience and using the soccer field, baseball fields, swing sets all in your neighborhood of quality homes makes this one attractive to many! Thank you for commenting! 😁

Plus Stairs welding makes a custom log trailer, tiny homes, ward log homes. katahdin cedar log homes, and transportation. Everything truck because Houlton is at the crossroads and the hub for US RT 1,2,2A and the beginning of I-95 that connects to the trans canada. Buying land and building homes is underway.

Our salaries are lower but so are real estate prices. And car insurance, Maine is the cheapest in the country bar none. I grew up on a Maine potato farm and a good year is one where you break even and it is nip and tuck. But that does not deter us from raising our families and all working hard on home grown events rather than write a check to attend our entertainment. Big canoe race coming up and yesterday's eclipse was awesome, picture perfect. 😀

I wished I had 10 of these because no inventory, everything is over $200K or won't pass financing in this tight market with not enough homes to consider. Have lower priced ones but if they need a roof, windows, siding, etc... well. It's most costly than buying a place that you paint the inside your favorite colors.
