Ahhhhhhhh finally Be'lakor has happened. They are the master class of transitions in songs. Take an hour to yourself, lights out, in-ears in and put on any album from them... enjoy the ride.
When you search for their older stuff, you will notice that they don't usually have music videos. The reason behind it is that they are extraordinary storytellers. Lyrics of their songs play a huge role in shaping their music, so you will often find lyric videos. But still, awesome musicianship, awesome band. Their songs never get old either. I can still put on songs from Stone's Reach or Frail Tide and sit through them and enjoy them fully, even though I first heard them back in high school a decade ago and used to play their albums over and over, week after week, month after month. Seeing them still going and still making some of the best metal in the world is so satisfying.
I'm excited for this one. I have been hoping to see a reactor I really like give them a shot since I first stumbled across their song The Smoke of Many Fires last year, and here we are. Their compositional skills are awesome to keep their long songs interesting all the way through.

Stoked to see Be'lakor reaction videos. Both albums, 'Stone's Reach' and 'Of Breath and Bone', are masterpieces and I can't recommend them enough. Lyrically their songs are a journey.
Great Review. Look forward to your dive back into their older stuff. One of the best Melodeath bands period. For tracks, Abeyance is a fan favorite, The Smoke of Many Fires shows off dynamics, Remnants, Fraught, Venator, From Scythe to Sceptre, An Embers Arc, there's a lot of great songs.
Something about the intro in Abeyance is not resistable. The way the music drops in is like a punch in the gut and it gets me going no matter what. But all Of Breath and Bone does it to me lol.
Finally, Be'lakor! Thanks for your reaction video. I've been a metalhead for a long time but man, Be'lakor has stayed at the top of my list since I found them like 6-7 years ago. I don't think they have a bad song. Please do check out their older pieces as well. They may be a little more "traditional" but you can hear their creativity there as well. They're not known for their technical virtuosity but man can they write music.. and lyrics. So many great riffs, beautiful melodies, haunting harmonies and great stories.
Be'lakor is incredible. One of the best melodeath bands around today. Check out their song "The Smoke of Many Fires". They have a great lyric video I highly recommend. They're all about the storytelling.
I discovered this band 3 years ago thanks to good old TH-cam suggestions. It was the album Of Breath and Bone and immediately i loved it. Played it on repeat over and over!
When I first listened to this record i really gravitated towards Must More is Lost and Valence. But Hidden Window is by far my favorite song on the record. The more I listen to the record the more I find I like about each song. Each song is so unique and intricate that listening to it once is not enough and it’s totally not one of those records where you say we’ll it’s ok I’ll just keep listening to it and it gets better over time. It’s better now and we just don’t realize it listening to it once. Amazing record. Amazing band
Dude, a Be'lakor reaction just days after an Omnium Gatherum one... This is awesome to see! Thanks for checking them out. Some of my favs from them are "Fraught" (There are some cool piano covers of this one), "By Moon and Star", "Sun's Delusion", "Withering Strands", "The Smoke of Many Fires", and "Abeyance". They have their own distinctive style within MeloDeath. There are some live vids of some of their songs if you want to check out their gear, though the ones I saw were at a festival and may just be backline stuff shared across the bands.

Checking again this reaction, these guys are the best band, they did it, took the spot from Tool as my favorite one, i think you should check "Countless Skies" from their second album (Stone's Reach - 2009) or "The Smoke of Many Fires" from their last-but-one album (Vessels - 2016), both are outstanding and the last song from their respective albums, but any song from them, aside from the first album, are amazing.
I love your gear breakdowns but you're great at just talking about the music on these lyric videos as well. The passion for the music is evident throughout. 👍
Glad you finally got around to this band. My biggest recommendation would be to sit down and listing through a full album to really experience what this band can offer. They are masters of atmosphere and storytelling. If I had to choose one album to start with "Of Breath and Bone" is a great starting place. As for songs to listen to here's some suggestions, Abeyance Countless Skies Whelm Remnants The Smoke of Many Fires Enjoy!
Saw these guys live a few times, great live band and fantastic people, too. Im usually not a huge fan of longer songs, but be'lakor can't be long enough. Hopefully you get to listen to them more. Especially the old albums are masterpieces.
Speaking of melodeath, Bloodred Hourglass also just released new music video few days ago. That video was again made by Riivata Visuals and dunno if somebody already mentioned it but guys behind Riivata also have a band of their own called Atlas. You could call their music metalcore but they dub it northcore, as it has certain nordic touch, like mixed english/finnish vocals. If you want to check them out, they released new video 'Ukko' last june.
Always thought and said that they are the perfect mix between early/mid In Flames/Dark Tranquillity and Amon Amarth. Loving them since their first release and I've never been disappointed.
Of Breath and Bone is beautiful. Until I discovered that album my favorite track by them was By Moon and Star but after I listened to this record, I would say Much More Was Lost takes it's place right away. Unbelievably good.
I found them out also from a reaction channel! This band is amazing and sooo under the radar. The Smoke of Many Fires is just amazing. Venator is also great.
Be'lakor is fantastic. I first heard them years ago, in a binge that also found me bands like Human Error, Holymarsh, Anterior, and SYMPULS-E - all melodeath bands I'd recommend thoroughly
As someone who's been listening to their stuff since The Frail Tide album, I have been never disappointed by any of their works. Their first album has a bit rougher sound to it, probably because of the scale of production isn't as high as since their second album Stone's Reach. I even had to order their albums from Australia at the start, but I am glad I did. In saying this, I think their first album is always overlooked. Desolation of Ares is a great listen to, same with Sanguinary. A lot of people talk about Countless Skies as a go to, it is by far, the best ending track on any of their albums and a great go-to, but Stone's Reach 's opener Venator is really really good. Cheers man, great content and thank you for listening to my favorite band! PS. I ordered their big bundle and 2 shirts after listening to this song!
This is the song that embodies the old and new Be'lakor for me. I'd recommend Neither Shape nor Shadow from their debut album, the bloody masterpiece of a song E: on ther other hand, f' that, you should listen to everything, this band is just amazing
One of the things I love about these guys is that their songs are so easy to listen to, you reach the end of an 8+ minute song and it doesn't feel like it's been that long at all.
I find that Australia takes a lot of metal genre's and masters them. But Be'lakor imo have been the peak of Melodic Death metal for over a decade. Every album is utterly brilliant. Just sad that the country has so many hurdles to get through to keep their music coming out.. Like our best bands who are touring overseas in the US/EU come home and live with their families and work full time jobs till they can tour again.
Yeah Tank. Be'lakor song writing is worthy of Guinness book. Their songs has so many transition/progression. There is a saying that a song can project a Picture. Belakor songs can project a movie. I can totally imagine that movie about 3x dudes going mining with claustrophobia kickin' in.
Was a first for me aswell, not what i usually listen too but quite good, one can hear that these guys know what they are doing. On another note Tank... close to 100k subscribers now, what a journey
This song is very good. I like melodic death metal, I like heavy vocal and complex melodic line. Tank you do great work and even you recognise gear in the fogy video. That is really impressive. Fantastic reaction.
Glad to see you discovering these guys. Be'lakor are right near the top for me with Insomnium. Their transitions are masterful enough I kinda think of them as the Tool of melodeath.

I'd recommend Neither Shape nor Shadow from their debut album, the bloody masterpiece of a song
E: on ther other hand, f' that, you should listen to everything, this band is just amazing
Be’Lakor always keeps it interesting. One of my favorite metal bands up there with Dark Tranquillity and Insomnium.
Ne Obliviscaris and Arbrynth are two other great aussie melodeath bands. Totaly worth it checking them out!
One of the things I love about these guys is that their songs are so easy to listen to, you reach the end of an 8+ minute song and it doesn't feel like it's been that long at all.
i haven't listened to be'lakor since of breath and bone, this is amazing!
One of the best things to roll on out of Australia
Going to see these in August in Adelaide, can’t bloody wait. They remind me a lot of Insomnium.
Finally you found Be'lakor. Thx so much! Maybe you like more australian prog Melo-Death linke Arbrynth or Countless Skies (named from Be'lakor song).
Yeah Tank. Be'lakor song writing is worthy of Guinness book. Their songs has so many transition/progression. There is a saying that a song can project a Picture. Belakor songs can project a movie. I can totally imagine that movie about 3x dudes going mining with claustrophobia kickin' in.
“Countless Skies” from the album Stones Reach is stop my favourite from them.
Was a first for me aswell, not what i usually listen too but quite good, one can hear that these guys know what they are doing. On another note Tank... close to 100k subscribers now, what a journey
Definitely been a wild ride so far!
Been waiting for this one
This song is very good. I like melodic death metal, I like heavy vocal and complex melodic line. Tank you do great work and even you recognise gear in the fogy video. That is really impressive. Fantastic reaction.
Glad to see you discovering these guys. Be'lakor are right near the top for me with Insomnium. Their transitions are masterful enough I kinda think of them as the Tool of melodeath.
They were big fans of In Flames too. I envy that you get to listen to "Stone's Reach" and "Of Breathe and Bone" for the first time.
Yes! Be'lakor our Skandinavian cousin outside Skandinavia. Just brilliant melodeath. Dark Tranquility with Australian twist.
I'm watching this reaction for the third time and I just can't get enough 🖤🤘 your reactions are priceless
Thank you!
So fn pumped for this album. First time seeing this channel good shyt dude
We need more belakor reaction tank!
I feel flattered you worked in a Be'lakor joke specifically for me and probably 5 other people
Hahahahahahaha. I try.
