I ended up just ditching the powder safety reset bar for some of the calibers I use with the Bullet Feeder and used the older style Dillon return springs instead to get around the issue. Obviously need to watch out to not throw double charges but you should never be doing half upstrokes on a progressive press anyways.
Great product from DAA and Great video Gavin!.. Love my 750, don't necessarily want/need the bullet feeder. They're mighty pricy and honestly I'm happy with just the 750 and case feeder. Plenty enough production for me.

Gavin, thanks for putting in the long hours to make informative videos. I’ve been wanting to add a Mr. Bulletfeeder, but was waiting for their solution. I refuse to remove any safety features designed to work on my XL750 - not worth it to me. Looks like this new powder bar is gonna solve the problem. Time to save for a bullet feeder.👍🏼
I upgraded to the 750 from the 650. The biggest complaint I had with the 650 was the sometimes finicky primer drum system that was entirely eliminated with the 750's upgraded priming system. I think it's a worthwhile upgrade, and you can keep your old 650 for brass prep or sell it on the used market and probably cover the cost of the 750 anyways since they hold their resale value pretty good.
Does this resolve the issue with the Mr bullet feeder mini on the 750? Looks like the mini has a larger area consumed directly over the bullet feeder die.
Great content love the effort you put in and all the information, truly enjoy watching. However, my reloading equipment lies dormant. There are NO PRIMERS. I have not been able to purchase any type of primers on line or in a store since last March. I have been told more than once by retailers that there is a two year back log on primer orders and that primer manufacturers are using all they produce for their own ammunition construction. So, watching your great videos is a little depressing because it reminds me of the great reloading pastime that can't happen and won't be happening for a long, lone time. Internet sales of reloading components may not even be allowed soon. Good times!
I really don't understand why Dillon just didn't come out with a 6 station press and call it the 850XL. This way you can have your bullet feeder, powder check, and separate seating & crimping stations. Seating and crimping in the same station is just wrong and adjustments are extremely difficult as you are constantly fighting crimp or seating depth. I gave up that method 25 years ago after trying to get it to work with my RCBS Rock Chucker single stage press I started on. I was just better to do every stage in batches than to try to get that crimp and seating to work right in one pass.
I'm having one in ten primer not seating. The annoying part is you only find out once they are crimped and you waste a projectile and have the fun of the powder mess on the plate and having to pull the ones without primers. Very frustrating, anything I'm missing or should check?
What about using hornady lock n load powder throwers instead of the dillon if runing multiple heads? Or a redding 3br (or rcbs) with locknload powder thrower actiator?
Now the big question is: How did Dillon missed that? And why don't they fix it? I mean, they are offering a 5 station press where station 4 is not usable because it is blocked by station 2.
Another problem that Dillon keeps ignoring and refuses to address and makes us soend more money on aftermarket parts to fix it ourselfes. I have purchased this short powder bar and it works great. Another fix is to use the Lee AutoDrum powder measure thats a case activated system and also eliminates the use of the fail-dafe rod completely. Unless you think a Lee powder measure on a Dillon is blasphemy 😂
The press screams for a bullet feeder while we been screaming for mega-million dollar Dillon company to actually provide us with a press that isnt designed with such a impracticality of cramming all of the dies into such a confined spaced. The turret can be made to provide at least 1/2" more spacing between each case cavity (without causing issues with inconsistency) in order to provide a much better ability to work with the die station's components
Dillons look amazing but does anyone else find it odd that they have so many discontinued presses and seemingly all kinds of issues that constantly need addressed? Maybe I'm just jelly because I'm rocking a Lee Turret. :P
Can't you just measure out a charge, then adjust the charge bar so the hole is too small, pour the powder onto the charge bar, and slowly increase the hole until the powder fits?
Never used powder check, never needed one. I use my eyes and everybody should do that. This way I can reload very fast, with bullet feeder and separate seating and crimping and doing so safely. Using powder check is like driving with GPS, fully trusting it and not using your eyes and brains. Well, some people end up in the lake or one way road this way…
That’s a false dichotomy. No one I know blindly uses a powder checker. I visually check every single round before seating a bullet, exactly as you do, but I would never load high volume without a powder checker backing me up. Perhaps you are perfect at this, but I’m not.

Personally, I look into each case, for .223 I have endoscope installed into powder check rode hole so I see powder level visually. Anyway, one can rely on Dillon powder measure 100 % of time with these two exceptions: 1.) one forgets to install/put back the powder bar return rod 2.) one forgets to refill powder measure container First one issue can be only solved by carefully checkig everything is as it should be. Especially in case of changing toolheads or moving powder measure between multiple toolheads. Second one visually inspecting powder level each time during primers refill. Or by using powder level check installed into powder measure (it’s also very easy to make one by yourself).

I put my bullet feeder in 3 and roll on it works great

Same here. Works great for rifle cases especially. And you don’t have to setup powder check each time when you change caliber or powder type.

Just measured it, it's 23.75" above the toolhead (to top of case feed bowl). You'll need clearance to add/remove brass, etc on top of that...

Dillon will probably tell you just get the 1050/1100.
Five stages is just enough for what one needs for high volume loading or brass prep.

Check for military crimped primer pockets!!!! (stamped faint ring around primer pocket)

Doesn't it reduce the max size of powder that can be dispensed? Wouldn't some cartridges not be possible to reload then?
It does reduce max charge volume, but only slightly.
