Martin seems like the coolest dude to hang with, and his riding was always stellar. 👍

Martin's got thunder in his heart and is always breaking the ice. I wish he could send me an angel and make my life rad.

back in 88' Martin sold me GT power series 3 piece cranks for $50 out of the back of his car. I still have them today on my double bent GT pro performer. Thanks, Martin

I'm 47 now and Martin was the man back in my day. Saved up and got my GT Pro Performer based on Martin & Eddie...loved that bike! I was 6 foot tall, 200 lbs in the 9th grade and the Pro Performer was one of the few bikes that I actually fit on. Wanted a Haro Master at first but after trying them all out, the PP was the best choice and the bike of GT Freestylers, so I was sold. Loved watching Martin with his fluid tricks.
    Great video!

sorry I'm 44 I still have my master. I love GTs but I'm in love with my 88 coral master w990s on the bottom

@@jeremymccardle3696 yeah right on! I LOVED the Haro Master! I was just cramped on it...oh how I wanted to get one...already had the money saved up for it too...over $500 in 1987 money lol...I wanted that neon green one...was so in love with that bike. Was so disappointed when I test rode it though...just felt cramped on my big self. So my second choice was the Pro Performer. Test rode the one at the bike shop and it felt good...it was longer with more room between the handlebars and seat. The GT laid back seat post gave it even more room. After riding around on one for about an hour, I was convinced. Dropped my $345 dollars down on it and patiently waited for mine to show up. It finally came in and I loved it...except for the wheels. The bike in the shop and the one in the order catalog came with the Skyway 5-way spoked mags...but when mine came in it had the hideous 6-spoked mags. I was furious. I didn't order those ugly rims and I wanted the 5-spokes...the bike shop wouldn't do anything about it...I was so pissed. But, like Martin here, I ended up with wire rims from a good trade...made the bike MUCH lighter. I had traded those ugly ass mags for a beautiful set of Araya rims and that's what I rode with...and those things were bulletproof! I was worried about tacoing them from my big ass doing crazy tricks on them...but they held up like a champ. But anyway...sorry about the mile long comment! 👍

After seeing Martin in the beginning and ending scenes of “Rad” I was hooked. He was really the first person I ever saw doing Flatland. I know Kevin Jones was doing his thing during the same time but Martin was the first one that really got me hooked on flatland.

that was the normal height back then. if you rode around back then with 2" of seatpost showing you would be considered unusual.
