Great video! my serato fx are not working since i updated my mac and serato to 3.1.3 my mac is running sonoma 14.2.1 everything else works fine except the serato FX someone please help!!!!
5:44 - is it possible to set the specific tempo without tapping but using round knobs?

Hi @RaneDJ, I don't like Serato FX so is it possible to have 8 Flex FX via firmware update ? When I saw Vegas mode on the 72 I saw the Serato FX buttons blinking in Orange AND Blue so I think it's definitely possible to have 8 blue FX buttons for Flex FX.
One more interesting feature would be to have the PadFX acting like in Rekordbox DJ (independent length, momentary or latch trigger mode)
Last but not least, is it possible to increase the waveform display framerate or do we have to wait a 72 mk2 😊 ?
Great video! Very informative. Not sure why I was looking for instructions from peeps other than Rane/inMusic. You guys did a bang up job with this mixer. I get a better sound running it through my analogue FOH mixer in addition to the 72 but could you guys work on beefing up the sounds of the effects. They are in practice second to none I’ve seen on a DJ mixer, but my now back up S9 sounds better out of the mixer gate (NPI) is since this actually has better “working” Fx, please try and get them out of the mixer a little less tinny so when I don’t have my mixer mixer, I’ll still get that sound. You guys can definitely code it to sound a drop warmer I would think but I’m not complaining. The Rane 72 is probably the best mixed I’ve ever owned. Been on the wheels since 89. :)
There are so many different actions needed to choose and activate the fx.
On a DJM you turn a knob to a fixed degree (muscle memory) and press a button to activate.
That's it.
Rane, I thought it should be a battle mixer and speed and easy fool-safe access is major?
Why not add 3 clickable knobs (with fixed values like djm) on a side of the fx 1-3 buttons on each side?
And also add on option in software menu, so one could configure that the knobs either:
a.) do nothing, fx are still activated by pressing fx button first, than additionaly pedal
b.) knobs instantly activate fx by pressing on the knob, (bonus if you let the dj choose if the touch screen is acting like xy pad as now or for controlling time division like djm's 900nxs2 touch strip)
Another feature request:
Implement a possibility to record a xy movement with a finger done on a multitouch display and playing it back (like Korg Kaoss Pad)
lol legit mixer but I prefer to crab and orbit the old school way vs pressing a button. But definitely want to upgrade my mixer from the rane 61.
I’m trying to follow the steps to tap the tempo for the fader effects but it doesn’t work and I can’t even tap tempo for a song unless I use laptop

0:11 - There is a hidden Touch FX feature you seems don't explain. I mean the Fx1, Fx2, Fx3 or flex routing to control them with Touch FX function. By default the Touch FX is routed to Flex FX (x-axis) and filter (y-axis). At nowdays it seems there isnt any way to make appear the screen you show at 0:11. If it is revealing a possible future firmware update, please consider the post fader fx for fx1,fx2,fx3 (serato fx) and also the auto bpm for analog audio signals.

How do you save your effect settings on the 72? I find myself always redoing the effect settings each time I turn on the mixer :-(

Fx need to be louder and post fader and saveable after power cycling.

how do you reset the effects pitch if it jumps off from what the pitch is of the song that is playing ?
You can manually tap it in with the Tap button.
