@user1989fopfrs7 I have a TLX V6....the recalls I can deal with it as long as they deal with them properly, which they have! GM, VW and Ford, as per my experience, have not managed it properly and left me holding the bag. I won't go with Toyota, not because of their recall issues, but because they are moving forward with 4-cylinder turbos -- not interested in small engines. What separates manufacturers is not the number of recalls but how they manage the recall. Honda and Toyota are the best at it.

this vehicle is awesome and reliable, will last decades, the main problem by FAR is the price, nearly 50k... can get a 4runner
I wanted this until I realize I can pay an extra 10k and have an MDX with better everything except 3rd row space which I didn't care about. SH-AWD changes everything, its the difference of driving a boat or driving a sedan. Pilot is all about the lower trims, if you're going for top trim, might as well get an MDX, if you can afford 56k, you can afford 66k. MDX is way easier on the eyes. Also better warranty across the board
Both cars have mechanically same AWD system, it's name and little bit of tuning is different.
We bought a AWD Pilot Touring out the door for $52,000. That MDX is $15,000 to $20,000 more out the door.
why not take a look at RDX, Passport, even CR-V if you don't care about 3rd row space
@paulm6481 Got my Pilot BE for $53k OTD. I like the Acura, but not that much more. Kinda like what you said.
Damn shame that you can't get benchseats on the trailsport
Exactly.
285 horse is nothing to sneeze at! Plus time after time the less horsepower the longer the he engine life
285 was fast in 1997
My next car! This is exactly what I wanted for the RDX power plant! Turbos lag and don't last!
their v-6s are always recalled with tons of isUes lol
@user1989fopfrs7 I have a TLX V6....the recalls I can deal with it as long as they deal with them properly, which they have! GM, VW and Ford, as per my experience, have not managed it properly and left me holding the bag.
I won't go with Toyota, not because of their recall issues, but because they are moving forward with 4-cylinder turbos -- not interested in small engines.
What separates manufacturers is not the number of recalls but how they manage the recall. Honda and Toyota are the best at it.
@ Lexus currently makes a V-8 IS 500 for the same price and it’s made in japan. Acura has never made a single V-8
@user1989fopfrs7 you have no idea what you are talking about! The IS 500 is a sports sedan, not an SUV. Second, its starting price is twice that of the Honda Passport. Please stop embarrassing yourself!
This is must be for everyone
Honda really wants you to know that this is the black edition...
it’s lame
I absolutely hate the tacked on after thought touch screens! Why not integrate them into the dash?
So this comes with an airline pilot am I correct? Because otherwise, why would they call it this?
Weird take, bro. You must drive a VW.
@@Trailsporting me aunt marmalade drives a 98 Jetta. I hope that helps.
It’s the first episode of the Honda show?
Love the car
One had better keep tire-black on-hand, to keep them matched to the gloss black wheels, or they’ll look extremely dull in comparison.
I like my good ol gas powered v6
If my engine has problems i dont want to have additional hybrid engine problems
Fallout
Do you prefer the pilot or the 2025 Santa Fe?
Oh goodness, how much? Yeah I would easily take the CX70/90 it’s the best looking vehicle for under 60k
EXL donst give no sun roof only the touring and up
the third row seat is way too low to the ground, very uncomfortable.
Honda should start looking to make more and more hybrids on their vehicles because Toyota makes a lot of them and I'm thinking of switching over
Toyota demolishes honda
@user1989fopfrs7 True, Toyota has a huge line up of different vehicles from subcompact cars to large trucks, from full petrol to fully electric or even hybrid selections
V6 is great but I am curious why the didn’t just keep the older v-tech version
Emission is the biggest enemy of keeping old vtec
Compliance with emissions rules.
Stunning vehicle but my concern is Honda has priced itself out of the market
Awesome suv
Pathfinder with a zf9 is quicker to 60 but it’s not as refined of a gearbox
04:35: they're a 6-spoke alloy with 7 spokes?! How weird!
I wish Honda would re-introduce the Accord with a V6 engine ! My Accord V6 is a 2017 model. It’s still great but time marches on.
I've got the '17 Accord with the V6 as well. Love it and would never sell it.
Surely the five seater Honda Passport needs a update quicker ,it still has the old interior
I don’t mind the Honda logo in the back being chrome colored since the front is also. But it is disappointing the lights are still not full LED in the back and the small entertainment screen hasn’t changed. In 2024 there’s no excuse for that.
I’d probably rather look for a one year old low miles certified MDX, factoring in that started with 1 extra year of warranty vs the Pilot.
Why don’t the cars just eliminate the piano black?? $
the problem of pilot is not lacking tech, the problem is lacking tech and being expensive.
Where is made?
ALABAMA LOL
They definitely should have added a bigger screen. That's a big no, no plus a little more power, maybe like 305 to 315.
I bet on the refresh the Pilot will get it. The new Passport coming out probably won't. But oddly enough the Accords get the big screen.
$55k for that? honda is out of their minds. this "new" pilot is already horribly dated.
9:07 😂😂😂 IT’S A BLACK EDITION!!! 🤦🏻 “they should offer a gray interior” then don’t get a BLACK EDITION bro WTH?!
This generation Honda Pilot won me over Toyota Highlander.
Hyundai, kia are far ahead of honda interms of tech, designs and quality interior and the best coverage upto 100,000 miles is crazy deal!!!! 👌🏼 👏
😂😂😂Lol 😂
😂 .. yeah sure
In term of tech and value. Yes.
In term of mechanical reliability. No.
@@SME5724keep sleeping on Hyundai and Kia
@@Ziakelthey’re actually becoming very reliable
Watch educated mechanic breakdowns of Kia, Hyundai & Honda. and then understand why you should be in a Honda. As far as I’m concerned, in the affordable space, there are only two manufacturers, Honda and Toyota . Don’t get baited into the insane maintenance cost and lack of reliability in BMW and Mercedes.
In Canada out the door prices are Passport Trailsport $63K, Pilot Trailsport $75K the RDX $70K the MDX $90K 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ looked at them all and left with a new Passport. Yep the tech may be lacking…but I’m tired of renting cars with massive screens with a million sub menus to pair my damn phone, or turn on the damn seat heater. The v6 will last forever and the build quality is exceptional. Sorry Hyundai but your engines have lots of issues, that why I bypassed you. And Toyota Hylander just looks ugly on the inside. I like the old school design. Not too fussy and easy to operate everything.
Oh Colin, such a little complainer 👎
Pilot is a car you love more the more you live with it. Very functional and great to drive. Handles nice. Rides nice. Very smooth. Built very well, zero rattles over bad roads, quiet, nice engine note, very stable/smooth at high speeds over 90- almost as good as my MB GLC. has enough tech that functions well but clearly not class leading. You are definitely not gonna impress others. But you will love driving this thing daily, it kind of impresses you more day to day .
