Daniel Davis is awesome to interview the host was so stressed out but when Daniel took over all things changed for the better .. class act! One of the best tv shows ever made.
This video is SO precious. I'm spreading the news and the minute that The Nanny fans find out about this video. The views will hit 1 million in some seconds!
Thank you so much for sharing this, it is gold. The quality is amazing, and there is so much to see and learn. Thank you! Our little fandom group is loving this so much!
3:36 fran concerning over a word in a line on how its being said, and explaining the perspective to the child actor, tells you how much perfection she put into this show. No wonder this is an evergreen favourite. It may look like being harsh to a child actor but actually its being professional.
I knew it, and Daniel Davis said it: it's camera blocking! I love seeing behind-the-scenes footage to see how a sitcom is made, especially when it's such a great show as this! Also, how fun to hear Daniel's real voice back in the day when 'The Nanny' was being made!
Yes! I know it ruins the “magic” but sometimes I like knowing how certain things are shot. How long it takes to build the sets, or how they do the lighting and props, or whatever. There’s even behind the scenes footage from an audience member who attended a shooting of I Love Lucy way early in its run. And it’s IN COLOR!!!!! I’m so happy that reel of film got found and remastered. Probably the only audience member footage that exists from Desilu, in color.
Thank you so much for sharing this video. It was very interesting getting a behind the scenes look at the show. Also to get the chance to watch something The Nanny related that I haven't seen before was a nice surprise
This is brilliant! I love that it's not edited, and we can see everything in a relatively 'raw' format. It's also fantastic to have such a rare insight into the camera blocking of a multi-cam show, something which is often aggressively hidden from public view.
Very smart show indeed till this day. The casts and crew did marvelously. Seriously, so many sitcoms that time and later over relied on slapstick humor and lame oneliners, and overused laugh tracks that made no sense.
This is fantastic, thank you so much. Fascinating hearing how it all works, so they were filming episode 17, but had already gone to air with ep 1? (Unless I've misunderstood?) Daniel seemed fairly sure they'd be back for season 2 so they must have seen some ratings figures by that point - gosh little did he know they'd get a total of SIX wonderful seasons :D
I love this!!! This is so cool! I wish they could’ve unearthed it before the Complete Series set came out. But I can always download this and add it to my collection of digitized physical media. I already have several shows digitized including The Nanny. I hate fussing around with discs. Does anyone know if Fran herself has any lost footage from the set other than some bloopers? I know there was some during the Nosh to Remember reunion in 2004. From the series finale.
Thanks @meentje568, the date 9-12-1993 in the description is an error. There was no date on the cassettes for the shooting. The correct date is 1994, which is when Metro Cafe Episode 7 aired. This reportage on The Nanny was included in that episode.

@@badrymmc yep!
Daniel David is very attractive!! And what an amazing voice he has!! ❤
Yes, made for theater. Lovely timbre. Same goes for Charles Shaughnessy (hope l spelled it right).
Love his English, I only recently found out he’s American!
yes agreed
I knew his English accent wasn't real but it's still so weird to hear his real voice😂 he did such a good job
It sounds weird hearing Daniel Davis without his Niles accent! 😲
Daniel still sounds lovely and charming even without the British accent haha!! Thanks for posting this ! :)
They all were great actors, even the kids. C.C was quite stunning, great acting,... This show was the greatest in its time.
All about chemistry ⚗ 🙌 ✨ 😍 👌 😌.
The iconic Nanny cast on set, simply brilliant, thank you.
First time watching behind the scenes ❤

CC dead gorgeous 😍
Fran is.
Then Yetta.
And THEN C.C. 😂
Yes she was and sure still is , beautiful blond,
What a time capsule. This show came out before I was born but this video doesn’t make it seem so!
That's what they call timeless.
It will run for decades,
like I Love Lucy. 😎👍
He also quotes Roman comedy 😮 he has an extensive knowledge of theatre history, a terrific voice, a sophisticated language. Very impressed!
Love this! Still watch episodes practically every day!
Daniel rocks as Niles the butler!
I had No clue how many takes are utilized and discussion about lines. I am totally in love with Daniel!❤
I LOVE this show!! this is very interesting to watch the scene's from behind the camera! I always got a kick out of the Niles and CiCi interactions!

I love that show and still watch, Daniel Davis what an actor I think he made the show.
Daniel should been reporter, actor .. the guy who gives the interview omg 😱 Daniel stills the interview.

Oh my gosh, what a treasure! I've never seen proper behind the scenes of the Nanny. Amazing ❤ thank you!

Lauren Lane (CC) is such a classy and beautiful woman.
this is amazing! do you have any more behind the scenes related to fran drescher or the nanny?
Hi francinevhs, we have one more behind-the-scenes feature for The Nanny coming up (no interviews).
she's a tough cookie!
She is… such a strong woman

How short that guy was 😂
Niles is mg favorite character in the Nanny. I watche the show because of Danny Davies (Niles).
Niles has green eyes too
i thought blue hehehe
And 2 guys fighting 😂
I think the date is 9-12-1993. This episode was aired in March 1994.

The voice of Danny is soothing. Like his American açcent is cute... not southern at all.
Oh yeah, it's very sophisticated...😂
Decades later, and I BARELY learned that Daniel Davis wasn't really British. 😢😂
What are they arguing about for so long?!
Goes back to Roman comedy? Romans?!!!
As the fran Drescher fan followed by Fran Drescher herself i cant thank you enough for this ❤️❤️❤️❤️🥹🥹🥹
