My first few thoughts watching this are: 1) I have to make those corndogs 2) I have to go to Korea one day just for the food (even though we have a couple of Korean restaurants in Canberra) 3) I LOVE bulgogi - definitely coming back to this video for that recipe 4) Probably taking myself to KorBQ next week - Korean food is the best!
I’m amazed that you did all that cooking and came out with a clean light shirt! I love how Zen has gotten so much more comfortable - I hope she knows we love her, too! The three of you are so fun!
The Korean corn dog place in my area does a rice cake corn dog. Instead of the sausage and cheese, it’s just a large rice cake fried in the batter. It’s so delicious, super chewy and also crunchy!!
You should try the churros topokki!!! I made them this weekend and it’s one of the best thing I’ve ever eaten. Basically you boil your topokkis, roast in a pan with butter and cover in cinnamon sugar. It’s phenomenal
For the dduk, I tend to fry it in oil a little bit before drenching it in sauce that I make in a bowl and smother the dduk after getting a crunchy exterior. I fry the whole concoction for a couple of seconds to get the smoky sauce flavor. Yummy
Among the food culture of Korea, special things that distinguish it from the food culture of other countries. // 1. Perfect vegan food represented by Korean Buddhist temple food 2. An endless variety of soup dishes 3. Kimchi: Vegetables fermented with animal protein represented by cabbage kimchi. In the past, only Koreans made and ate it. There are over 800 types of kimchi. 4. Jeotgal: A fermented animal-based sauce made from seafood. In Korea, there are more than 140 different types of salted fish. 5. Ssam: It means wrapping all the ingredients you want to eat in various leafy vegetables represented by lettuce. However, unlike burritos, you have to swallow them in one bite, so you need to adjust the amount of ingredients to be wrapped appropriately. 6. Herbal Medicine Ingredients : Herbal medicine ingredients are not only eaten for special diseases or health, but are also often used for general home cooking. For example, as ingredients for Samgye-tang, Mulberry, Tree Aralia, Eleutherococcus Sessiliflorus, Mongolian Milkvetch, Korean Angelica, Ginger, Jujube and Korean Ginseng are used. 7. Namul : South Korea is the country that eats the most dishes made with only vegetables without meat and seafood protein. Namul are foods made with one edible plant as the main ingredient. Examples of the types of Namul include Shepherd's Purse, Stringy Stonecrop, Korean Angelica-tree, Korean Wild Chive, Butterbur, Bracken, Doellingeria Scabra, Bamboo Shoot, Chamnamul and Cirsium Setidens. // Etc... Korea shows a distinctly different food culture from neighboring countries in Far East Asia (China, Mongolia, Vietnam, Japan).
I tried the tteokbokki one and it was right on the edge of my spice tolerance. I think it may be because I added 2 spoons of gochujang and too much gochugaru / spices. If you want it spicier then maybe try doing what I did?
Hi Tina ❤️ Here I am to confess something. I've been your silent viewer for a long time , always enjoying your videos your energy and now that you are on this beautiful pregnancy journey I just want to wish you luck from deep down my heart 💜 and I'll pray for your and your baby's health ❤️
As a korean subscriber i would tell you you did it really good!!! Let me tell you one thing try putti 떡and the sausage together!!! It is really good and one tip for you!! When i cook 떡 i dont usually pu it is a stick because it is easier to cook them. So cook them separately and dip them in to sause!! It is easier to eat too!!
I just found your channel and just entered randomly and now i i just finished 3 videos 🤣you really know how to entertain us .and the Korean food you are doing just make me wanna go to korea even moreee
I love cooking but most of the days I'm there just to eat. Because of all the cleaning and such. For Easter I baked a salty cake typical of Liguria, Italy but it took me half a day to make. Both the shortcrust and the filling. It's a salty shortcrust pastry, with a layer of spinach that's been fried in onion and olive oil for a bit. Then you add one egg and cheese. Then there's a layer of cream that's made with eggs, ricotta cheese and again Parmesan cheese, then a layer of only eggs (which is it's characteristic layer) and pastry on top. I believe the wives tale associated with it is that you're supposed to put one egg in the middle and when you cut the cake who gets the egg is considered lucky. It was okay but the cleaning part ended with me throwing away the baking pan because it rusted.
I m drooling. You are such a great youtuber everything you do is amazing. Love watching. A small messge: Tina and Alfred's baby is listening and enjoying all the meal. She is gonna be definitely like Tina. Cause there is saying that baby takes after what mother does during pregnancy.
I wish she didn't skip the sugar because it lends a different sweetness and textural experience (especially when sprinkled while the corn dog is hot) compared to the sweetness that ketchup has (which has a tartness to it). Don't kick it until you've tried it! :)
I miss you Tinaaaaa, every time a TH-cam notification pops up on my phone I'm silently wishing it was you, I enjoy your videos so much, please upload more but if u can't I'll understand😭
Tina pls don't use metal spatulas or anything metal in non stick pans. If the coating scratches firstly your pan gets ruined but most importantly the coating that gets in your food is cancerous.
I might try the corn dogs for my son as he likes them, but not good on spice looked good Tina and the same as the lady's, loved the double thump dance 😂. I do my own tempura 🍤 and I got my own tempura fryer so good. cant wait to see baby Tina can't be long now 😀😍💖💖💙💖🐶👍👏🏻XXXXXXXX
I love how Alfred just randomly pops up and looks so excited to try the foods haha!

I think with the tteokpokki(?), it's easier to fry and coat them with sauce first and put them on skewer at the very end. Might make them crispier.
Tteokbokki :)
