I remember one of my early matches in the TOG, on Kuban. One flank was getting hammered, of the 4 tanks that raced ahead, only one had survived. The enemy was capping the objective, and advancing unchecked.
And then myself and two other TOGs arrived. Instant turnaround, 7 dead enemy tanks, no TOGs lost.
Probably the best moment I've had in War Thunder for a long time.

What type tank was it? Because it look like two-piece ammo which might mean that he hit ammo bags which only burn up unlike casings.
And in that case the only nothing that could happen that the player didn't lose any ammo.

Meanwhile russian tanks take two or three panzerfausts directly into an ammo rack before they blow up and any other nations vehicle can be one shot racked with the worst AT rifle in Enlisted. Gaijin is gonna gaijin
Gaijin matching the speed to a broken tank is very Gaijin
IRL the vehicle never drove at its full theorized speed as the British slapped a speed limiter on it, but it was theorized it could go the 24kph without the limiter.
Most of the tanks in game are running their full theorized speed, though.
seems British tanks are exempt from that, most tanks on the Cromwell or Cromwell derived chassis are limited (except the Cromwell 1 since it never got the limiter).
gaijin isn't exactly known for consistency though.
@@OddBawZThe Panthers except for the D (which had its limited off) are limited even though they have a higher top speed without the limiter. Was a controversial change a while ago. Now most them only go 28.5 mph no longer 35 mph. Only the D, and the VK (which they added I think as a “sorry” to German players) can go up to 35 mph in game.
@@snowthearcticfox1Germany has plenty of tanks limited, most famous is the Panther lol… Only the D (which had its limited of), and the now newer VK can go 35 mph even the F can’t exceed 28.5mph on flat road.
@@snowthearcticfox1I believe even the Abrams is limited too. It could theoretically go 50 mph if not close to that. But its limiter/governor is set much lower.
When you drive in reverse and the british commander just keeps yelling "SLOWER!" is the funniest thing in the TOG, its just so fitting for a tank this slow. It always makes me laugh, anyways the TOG is simply just a blast to play imo.
We seriously need to start putting pressure on gaijin to offer event vehicles as purchaseable premiums after awhile Luckily it was (compared to normal gaijin events) pretty simple to get
edit- yes im aware you can get them in lootboxes, that's a super shitty and greedy way of doing it and is not a good solution.

And to whoever said "its rare for a reason" it shouldn't be, not super well known vehicles like this. Events should be fun, not stressful, and you shouldn't need to play for 10 hours a day to get them either. Its lazy and hurts the game long term.

Yep this was quite literally one of the events that completely snuck up on me.
As badly as I wanted the TOG II, I cannot be bothered to grind for an event vehicle since the Leopard T-14 back in 2021, let alone play War Thunder.
Same, especially when I’m someone who really likes this tank IRL and I appreciate it being modelled fairly accurately, especially when compared to it’s WoT counterpart that’s all wrong, shame about this game’s FOMO business model
the TOG II grind was really easy to be honest but i get not wanting to play this game/being frustrated. I use to be really into World of tanks and a bit of a refugee from that changes theyve done.
I would have done it, and I was going to do it initially. But, the want couldn't beat the urge to simply play something else.@@meh_tr0

The T28 superheavy Doom Tutel is slower than the TOG II by 1 km/h. It even takes like a 10-15 degree hill to speed it up to 14 km/h because I think Gaijin specifically wanted the players who bought it to age 10 years before the ever got to battle.
i played 1 game with the sturmiger when this came out and the only thing i killed was togs and had like 4 or 5 kills without dying it was quite fun
I played in a convey with 4 other togs driving together just doing TOG things and someone in a Sturmtiger one shot all of us.

Yes, the 'ghost rounding' planes has been going on for a couple of weeks now. I can't count how many I've "missed" due to that. :/
And even if you do hit, it does nothing, especially against helos

The 24 km/h speed was it's theoretical speed with it ever only achieving 13.7 km/h.
Event was pretty fun to play for me. Brought out my lineup of the now removed German prototypes (Maus, Panther 2, etc) and just played the game to play it. I think it's more fun to just play than grind since I have everything in the game I want already. TOG spam on the last part of the event was so funny to be part of.

I went frame by frame on that shell that clipped through the aircraft, and it certainly did appear to go straight through the damn thing

Any one else notice the amount of uptiers now in the new update? That and the Win to Loss ratio. I'm doing well for my team, (average 6-9 kills) but I keep losing with over half my team not able to rack a single kill.
I did a 27 kill 3 death game (most of the kills were actually done by the midpoint, 7 were after the game went dire)
Yeah we still lost.
I had 10 games where I was first place in 9 of them.. 7 out of the 10 were losses and one of the winning games I was 3rd place. I'm not the most expert player but I'm experienced and I was getting so frustrated that my team seemingly couldn't kill anything. Or outright refused to cap points 😢. Damn near every game is a full uptier too. I felt like playing top tier to prevent uptiers 😂
The amount of times ive been saved by the smoke cannon in this thing is crazy
Plus the extra survivability from the 2 extra crew
I like the british royal land navy but i wish more people could get event vehicles such as tog 2 at a later day

Imo, I enjoy the smoke cannon, front-facing TOG that can smoke a whole point for life
The only issue is the smoke shells count as ammo and you can get racked
@@Nickles4 Yeah I remember using the xray at the start of a match and freaking out at the sheer amount of ammo in the front.
If you want smoke, the Churchill mk1 is probably better, it has grenades and the 76mm that is otherwise useless

So glad I got this thing, it’s a tortoise with a turret. I regularly use it in urban combat at 8.0. I can only imagine the surprise on a T54 players face when he shoots and fails to kill it and it kills him.

I have the TOG, and despite it being slow, I love the turret speed, quick reload, reverse speed, and powerful gun. It's also worth considering the armor actually being decent in 5.3.
Post pen damage from the TOG's AP shell is crazy good
Always nice to see all the vehicles I love, but can never play in game because I don't treat War Thunder like a job :)

i've gotten a bunch of games with like 10-17 kills with the tog, just push frontally and right before you'd see the enemy go on a tiny flank. Just enough so that you'll be the one who sees them first (watch out for heavy flankers tho)

I think the TOG always gets full uptiered, that's been my experience.
I have gotten 3 to 4 full downtier, 5 ish 0.7 uptier in about 30 rounds before I got bored, better than some br that's 100 percent uptier

I would've liked to see the replay of that ghost shell. I'm sure it can be explained away as a synching issue, but it's still pretty disappointing.
At 11:16 paused you can see its a near miss with the plane as it is still swinging/rocking to its left.

At first I had trouble when facing Togs but then I learned their weaknesses. I went Tog hunting whenever possible. Sad the hordes of Togs are no more, just one here and there.

the one in bovington has a 17pdr gun, it has thinner armor, it has a different armor layout, and it wasnt fitted with the supposed GWP option

Next April Fools, they could, of course, decide to invent "TOG TAG", where only TOGs populate a map and kills only count if the player writes a "TOG, you're it" msg after each successful deconstruction.
It was an easy event to grind tbh, my first one in my 10 year WT career. Log in, complete the tanker task in a couple of hours, then repeat when the next one became available. A couple of hours every other day was much easier than I thought. Used my Brit 4.7 lineup to "grind" the event.
I was just mad because I had no idea this event existed until 1 day after it started meaning I couldn’t get it from the beginning.
Idk why you couldn’t purchase stars or that you needed 6/6.
If you miss 1 day it was gg, I don’t even know it existed until a day after.

The "ghost shell" moment in your first battle actually wasn't a ghost shell. If you very carefully watch the footage, the plane adjusts slightly to your right just before you fired, causing your shell to just barely pass by his fuselage instead of hitting dead on.
It hits the fuselage and the left side of the engine. On the replay the plane isn't even in the same spot. It's about 12 feet to the right. Gaijin server moment.

I got my TOG and i often take it to top tier, killed BVM and leopards with it usually side shots :)
Tog 2 is really good I survived a lot in it and the only time I mostly die is to CAS.
I spent all the time grinding this out to get the coupon to sell off the marketplace just to find out that it wasn't a coupon. I don't even play the British tech tree and it will probably be several years before I get around to it

Imma be honest, I haven't actually brought out the Tog II yet. When I unlocked it I was also simultaneously grinding out the Maus, so, I really really wanted to play that instead. Love the Maus btw. Super duper fun. So glad I finally unlocked it after all these years.
I didn't have a chance to keep the Maus in research even as I needed 4 more tanks in rank IV, I got the 4 tanks now, but Maus only next year once I get the RP needed.
@@Kaelar2077 That sucks, dude. Don't worry, you'll get there. At least once the Maus comes back you only need to get a single RP into researching it. Then you can unlock it even after the event ends.
