That’s not true. Strong mountain waves tore off the tail, all 4 engines, and one it’s wings. No one survived.
As an Avgeek and a pilot myself who just gained my pilots license for quad jets and commercial service this is something that we are especially trained for it’s no big deal and the passengers are completely safe, no need to be screaming.
but, all jokes asides. can we take a moment to respect the pilots who have gone through crazy amounts of studying and training to deal with a situation like this to keep 200+ people safe. they don’t get praised enough 🙏
Unless you know the aircraft's capabilities, also going low over mountains its inevitable that you'll get some turbulence. I wouldnt bat an eye on that flight
Just know that these pilots are experienced in their training. They always try to make sure that you can land safely. I agree turbulence like that can be scary but planes are also made to move like that in case something like that happens.
The ignorance and stupidity of screaming that you “want to get off” an airplane during turbulence, like it’s a carnival ride catering to your whimsy, cannot be overstated.
For you nervous flyers put there, these aircraft aren't fragile. They are much tougher than you think they are. These aircraft are designed for the worst case scenario, and this isn't even close to that. Not only that, but the flight computers can give you warnings of harsh conditions well before you come in contact with it. These things can fly with no thrust, the engines can withstand a blade failure at max thrust, hell even if an engine just fell off of the wing it can still fly. In this case, really the only thing you have to do is just keep leveling the aircraft whenever the turbulence forces you to bank or pitch. You just need to bank or pitch the aircraft in the opposite direction. You just keep doing this until you make it through. You get the idea, the aircraft is easily recoverable even in these conditions
Then what about the crashes Edited* ok guys got it I just cleared my doubt thanks for the explanation everyone I was just shocked when I saw the flight crashes that's it :)
Just for everyone afraid of situations like these- if the turbulence was bad enough to affect safety the pilots would've climbed to a higher altitude and figured out another way to land or reroute- they wouldn't have continued the approach
Well, she/they are overcome with fear. At first it may seem overly dramatic, but I understand and I feel for them. I hope the pilots have been communicating with the passengers.
@@MotivaliantMindset well yes and know in sever turbulence and sone autopilots will actually kick off forcing the pilots to fly the aircraft this level probably wouldn't but those pilots are manual control at this faze in flight more than likely also considering how close to the terrain they are I would definitely be off autopilot
I find it disgusting how people talk about those who become fearful in a situation like this. They don't do it to harm you intentionally or to draw attention to themselves, they are just scared as hell and can't handle it that well. Looking down on them for that and even insulting them for it makes you no better. If having no self control in a situation like this is something you think should be avoided, and that you need to still be reasonable then show some of it aswell and acknowledge that not everyone can stay calm, that not everything works the way it would be best in your opinion. And if you believe that not being able to contain an imense amount of fear is a sign of a bad person that doesn't look out for others, set a good example and show some compassion.
Yeah, these comments are psycho. Like sorry the lady having a panic attack is bothering you. The lack of empathy is honestly really scary, especially for something that’s a minor inconvenience AT WORST.
Don’t worry about turbulence especially if your over mountains! It’s completely normal and pilots are well trained to handle turbulence like it’s nothing. Edit: OMG THIS IS THE MOST AMOUNT OF LIKES IVE EVER GOT
The fear people have is losing control of the plane. Losing power or entering an irreversible chain of aerodynamical mishaps that will bring the plane to fall or to experience malfunctions that will then bring the plane to lose its capacity to properly fly and then crash
It's easy to panic when your entire life sits in the hands of a machine that's bouncing all over the place when its not supposed to. Kinda like when your best friend is driving and starts going faster than you like. You aren't the one driving, therefore you're gonna get that "oh shit" feeling no matter what lol
Just pray and hope they wont encounter micro burst in the air. That will surely pull the airplane down. Inside those cumulus-nimbus clouds are scary pushing air down
They just making their own fear. I don't understand why people just making the situation worse. The point is just keep calm and hoping/praying it will be okay.
I can’t stand being around people who are in fear. It’s contagious energy. I’m a combat veteran so it really cranks my gears when people decide to panic before they die. Like stay quiet, what will be will be. That’s why it’s important to be a good person for when judgment day comes.
God is OK with righteousness and He asks everyone to get as close as possible to Him, the Standard of Righteousness. Being fearful is natural, but you can't let it get in the way of your mission.
@@NaomiMiller4 Disagree. Panic is a natural response to fear. God ain’t real. There is no “judgement day”. The end. I do agree the screaming is annoying though.
Why are people so dramatic? I know turbulence is uncomfortable I am a nervous flyer too. When turbulence was explained by a hypnotherapist on TH-cam it put my worries to rest. The physics of turbulence and how the plane feels like it's falling actually just air pockets and is near impossible to crash from turbulence.
these screams would make me laugh there 💀 (i always analyze everything separately and i almost never screamed when in danger, i almost always either laughed or just smiled. There was one big storm that crashed into my grandmother's house when we were there, and while the others were just crying and praying, trees were falling and roof of another building collapsed, i was like "damn lol why they crying and praying so much like that would do anything" cuz i know that there's nothing i can do and my chance of survival was pretty high in that location)
Ive flown in this all the way from the Caribbean to Canada. Food trays were tossed in the isle and another plane was flying near us the entire time. Nobody behaved like this during the entire flight.
what I can't stand is turbulence during meals. It's almost a law of nature that every time they bring the trays turbulence has to happen and disturb passengers adding unnecessary stress that eventually kills appetite
Was in a small 9 passenger plane headed to Maine when we hit turbulence. There was only a curtain between us and the pilot and co-pilot. That plane was bouncing like hell, and yes, they were laughing their asses off.
“This is your captain speaking. Seems like we just approached some turbulence. Nothing to worry about. Just keep your seatbelts fastened with your tray tables up. We should reach our destination shortly. If you haven’t already signed up for a miles card…”
Omg if it wasn’t cuz I’m still shook from this mornings flight I would be laughing my ass off. I flew from PR to NYC, experience some nasty turbulence and deadass the flight attendants did this lol they even walked around to see which passengers wanted to sign up for the credit card.
I wanted to insert a GIF from my favourite comedy movie Airplane.. you know the scene when all the passengers panic.. TH-cam doesn't allow that.. so. You can use your imagination..
The people in the comments saying that the screams are annoying... helloooo??? It's normal to react like that! It's a natural thing to show that a person is scared. Omfg.
Who screams like this it's just slight turbulence! And the screams are making other passengers freak out even more, I'm an aviation geek and I can confirm that this was just slight turbulence most flights face this. Like if you're that scared don't ever get on a plane, the situations can be worse and you might even have panic attack And it's a bird like machine flying in the sky how do you not expect turbulence. And pilots are well trained so no point of freaking out like that
Doesn‘t matter if it‘s normal. If you‘re afraid of something then even the normal things can get you extremely scared. People are aware that it‘s the safest way of transport. That‘s not what makes fear go away tho
@@user-dv7hq2rh4gmuch more common than you think, clear air turbulence is undetectable and turbulence won't crash your plane too, only if something breaks.

Modern planes should have ejector pods, so if someone wants to voluntarily get off you can boot them out mid air and let everyone else watch.

Fun fact : you know if air is thin enough and hot enough a plane can fall out the sky. Hope that didnt scare you.
The plane is designed to withstand strong weather turbulence. It went through severe tests before flying.
Then what about the crashes
Edited* ok guys got it I just cleared my doubt thanks for the explanation everyone I was just shocked when I saw the flight crashes that's it :)

Why are people scared? That’s literally the pilots job to fly the plane, not crash it💀💀
Just for everyone afraid of situations like these- if the turbulence was bad enough to affect safety the pilots would've climbed to a higher altitude and figured out another way to land or reroute- they wouldn't have continued the approach

Why be scared when there is NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT?
How do you know it could probably give someone a heart attack or something similar because of the fright
I agree you shouldn’t look down on people for being scared because I’m sure everybody on roller coasters don’t complain when people scream

People need to understand that planes are built to fly, they won’t just fall out of the air
yes , 154
Unless you're really unlucky 😂
Inside those cumulus-nimbus clouds are scary pushing air down
If you scream like that, it’s just gonna make it even worse.
Silly people - it’s not the bouncing around in the air that kills you - it’s the uncontrolled bounce into the ground!

The physics of turbulence and how the plane feels like it's falling actually just air pockets and is near impossible to crash from turbulence.
their scream stress me more than the turbulence.

Like if you're that scared don't ever get on a plane, the situations can be worse and you might even have panic attack
And it's a bird like machine flying in the sky how do you not expect turbulence. And pilots are well trained so no point of freaking out like that
The difference between these passengers and the Japanese passengers is night and day. No histrionics. No freaking out
Its a pitty that even nowadays people are still so scared of the most normal thing that happens during a flight
Doesn‘t matter if it‘s normal. If you‘re afraid of something then even the normal things can get you extremely scared. People are aware that it‘s the safest way of transport. That‘s not what makes fear go away tho
