    There's a lot of negativity out here...but not from real musicians. I've been playing for 45 years, and find KWS knowledgable and sharing with his knowledge, not to mention incredible in concert. He's the real thing, not a clone...he's completely his own person, and he knows tone. When you've achieved 1/10th of what he has, you're going to realize how petty that negativity is.

    Rebecca is still the best interviewer Premiere has ever had. She asks the questions, knows her stuff, let’s the person answer and doesn’t “fanboy” or try to overstep like all the others

    Now this is a Rig Rundown!! Talk all the shit you want but KWS is the real deal & he knows his shit about tone! All you punk ass kids who want 20 min of programmed pop stars who can't even explain their rigs so they get their techs to do it need to listen,this is how you get real honest to God T-O-N-E-! Can't believe all the hate on here,I.m.o, this is one of the best rundowns i've seen,& i think i've seen them all.

    I havent heard ANY of these rig rundown shows that were nearly as informative. He talks about Dumble, Hand wired gear, shows HOW he gets his tone.. Most of the other interviews just say "Yea, thats my amp and pedal".. and using a 15 watt amp in an arena.. WOW! Line 6 wireless? thats awesome! I paid gobs of money for Shure, UHF, even Nady. Line 6 would already have been my next choice, now its confirmed. This is definatley one of the best rig rundown's I've seen yet.
    Doesn't matter weather I like him or not, what I think of his music and all.

      Line 6 G50/G90 (Exact same thing, except one is a rack mount) are great. Haven't needed anything else myself and seeing world touring dudes not needing anything else either helps haha

      Ken Rowe Me
      What's not to like. He's a killer blues player I saw him live a few months ago and he was by far one of the best guitar players I've ever seen live and I've seen McLaughlin, Malmsteen, Steve Vai, Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes and many more. Trust me he's good an original. He puts his own touch and spin on everything he plays.

    One of the best Rig Rundowns! Kenny knows his stuff and is able to explain everything so you can understand it. He is enthusiastic, does not seem rushed and demoed his pedals and the sound that he gets from each.

    This is an awesome rig rundown. Kenny actually demonstrates what the pedals sound like and how he uses them. He knows his shit and explains everything in great detail. On most rig rundown episodes, the artist doesn't demonstrate what the amps or the pedals sound like..and even worse, they have the guitar tech guy do it for them.

  • @jordandangelo1808
    @jordandangelo1808 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Anyone who hates on this guy is jealous and isn't a historian of blues or music in general because everything comes from people who lived before you did. People said Stevie copied Hendrix but he was clearly was paying homage the same way Kenny Wayne Sheppard does for Stevie and Hendrix too. Imagine how much fun he's having being able to play blues on the most advanced level with that kind of speeds. forget about it What's not to like.

    • @lescaster2179
      @lescaster2179 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally agree on this. There is an undercurrent of 'haters' on KWS that lazily lay claim him to be an SRV clone. Clearly, this same group have two things in common: 1) They must not listen to/hear SRV very much 2) They must think SRV was an all-original and never actually listened to someone like Albert King. Listen to SRV, you're hearing a lot of Albert in there. Listen to Clapton, you're hearing a lot of Freddie King in there. This isn't to say these are the only influences hear in their styles, but they're clearly coming through. Now, fast forward to KWS and some people can only seem to hear SRV... but, in truth, there is no more SRV in KWS than there was Albert King in SRV. Haters need to learn some history and go back beyond their revered hero(es) to understand and appreciate how they're all building on those that came before them.
      One thing I love and appreciate about Clapton is his dedication and attention to paying homage to those that came before him on on whom he founded his own style. His contributions to the understanding and appreciation of the lineage of blues guitarists, styles, and sounds might run a close second to this influence on those that have since followed him. And today, we have a contemporary blues artist in Shepherd (and others) who CLEARLY appreciate that what THEY do today is built on the influences of those that came before.
      Meanwhile, uninformed/ill-informed haters continue to hate. Read a book, man. Listen to older artists and walk forward through history... you'll clearly hear them in each other's playing styles, and SRV was no less influenced by his predecessors/heroes than Kenny was by his, SRV being one of them.

    People been hating on Kenny for a long long time, nothing new in that. The fact that he tours pretty much non stop playing to thousands and thousands of people, hundreds of thousands i am sure by now have enjoyed his live performances.
    He dont give two fucks about what all you losers think, why would he. Hes good looking, plays with shitload of passion and soul, people like BB king and Buddy Guy dont play with pretenders, and they dont care about race or age, they care if a cat can play, and Kenny can play, his 20 yr career is a testament to that. When he first broke people said he would be gone in a year or two, one hit wonder, etc etc... well hes still playing looks healthy and happy, more power to him.
    Haters keep hating, its what you do best.

    I've watched a lot of rig rundowns and this is by far the best one yet. I found it so informative and inspirational. Too many crybabies in the comments section. Basically every guitar player in the last 40-50 years has "ripped off" the guys that came before him…mainly because they were inspired by Chuck Berry, Albert King, Bo Diddley, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters (where did the name "Rolling Stones" come from again?), or whoever else you want to name. None of you people could hold a candle to KWS.
    And yes, for those of us who really love blues music, he's one of a very small few that are carrying the torch these days. Great stuff!

    This was a great video. Rock-n-roll is all derivative - so let us not start talking falsely now - the hour is getting late. Check out Sister Rosetta Tharpe to see a female gospel singer and guitar player who influenced Chuck Berry, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley - she was asked what she thought of rock-n-roll in the 1950's and she said she had been playing that music for 20 years - it's just fast rhythm and blues.

      You're right your videos they are better than mine without a doubt but the music you brought in it's the music I listen this was the music I'm pushing I love blues blues got a really cool story all the time I love country I love everything I love music for me I want to hear it I feel it the same with the concerts and the videos like the second coming of MTV I got two more other ideas that goes with this I'm not singing yet I want to see where I go sometimes you have the idea the other person has to play you always look for somebody to back you up right you always try to buy somebody to buy and you know help you out with the money oh yeah I want that too but really I want to hear the music I don't want to hear a whole bunch of hoopla you know we got a way of putting music out there right now I mean similar casting and stuff it's the same but we're going to be a little better than that it's a new way to send music and it's all younger generations time this is a change massive for everyone I'd rather go to my house after work chill out turn my TV on and just listen to music I get to see the show and so can all customers and when I find out more about what's going on because we're just now starting this and I mean we're just now pushing this we hope everybody joins us some new way to go like you said I'm like 20 years older than most of you guys and I'm still rocking I love it there's nothing better and you guys help me get there and don't think I'm going to be sitting on the curb not enjoying every minute of this I'd like to get involved and learn a lot more all this new work we got going on with computers and stuff I wasn't there if I was already working so I was my own computer now I'm going to have some pretty weird things happening and if this is a way to get on top and be secure well if we can bring it to the public public can bring it to us and we'll put out the best advertisement they'll be times but I want this music but I know business is business too I expect you get paid just like anybody else but for now I just want to say thank you I've been working on this stuff for a couple years you have no idea how much music I've got and it's not going nowhere except with me just tell me this stuff was giving to me by people I know and I grew up back there ain't nothing like the stones trust me well I like everybody to hear it and I think we're going to try and make it so that we can keep running 24/7 but with that we might need some investors so on that note thanks for giving me your time I hope what we give you it wasn't I think you'll like it everybody today's pretty good let's see what happens if I'm thinking right get ready we're going to have some fun

    Fair play Mr. Shepherd, that was informative. Nice to see someone demo their rig. TS is a better drive pedal in my opinion though, so I'd be running that close up front.

    I saw Kenny back when he was THE monster, he weighed about 90lbs and looked like hell but it was one of the best show's I have seen. Killed the Monterey pop festival Hendrix strat and ripped it up. Since then I have seen him and it's just not the same.

    Can't thank KWS enough for giving a personal rig tour. My humble suggestion for a tone freak like him is to burn that tuner pedal, replace the slot with a BBE Sonic Stomp pedal and add a true bypass kill switch. I always like how professional the interviewer gal is.

    This is a pretty simple and basic rig compared to John Mayer. When Rebecca does the Rig Rundown for JM, it blew me away at how far JM has to to go get his sound. KWS just uses the very basics to produce such a pure sound!

    I think he confused the sides of the King of Tone. The factory settings (that he said in a different rig rundown that he didn’t change) are the other way around- right side high gain,left side boost/clean

    I have no idea how the king of tone is such a great amazing pedal. I own both it and the klon centaur, and the KoT honestly comes really close to matching it.

    For all the haters, he wasnt getting gear he thought you would like, he was getting gear he likes. He's not my favorite artist but he has the skill and puts on a great show. He's been on the hendrix tour for a reason and been around pro since he was 15. If any of you can do better then lets see it.

    Tuner at the beginning of the chain also cuts all signal if turned on ! I do this way and when it's time to have a rest, I just switch on the tuner, no feedback or else..
    Or, the best way is to put the amp on standby...
    But why not the tuner at the end of the chain...
