    Garmin Venu SQ came in with a bang in September! Costing way cheaper than it’s multi sport siblings and absolutely destroying sporty smartwatches in terms of smarts, sports, health and battery life! For £180 or $200 you get a lot!
    The Venu SQ is technically a cut down version of an existing model - the Garmin Venu. Some cut corners had to be made to reduce the price and keep the original Venu as the flagship of the 2.
    The biggest change hit the face of the watch.. the SQ features a 1.3” LCD panel, bye bye AMOLED… we lost the barometric altimeter, a GPS one is used now.. Garmin removed the gyro sensors, the live watch faces and generally made it more simple. I can say that if you’re not a pro athlete you won’t notice any difference except for the LCD vs AMOLED screen!
    Garmin Venu SQ

    Stress Monitor
    Body Battery
    Garmin Coach
    Breathing App
    SpO2 Monitor aka Blood Oxygen Saturation Oximeter aka Pulse Ox
    Continuous Heart Rate Monitoring
    Downloadable faces
    iOs and Android compatible
    Garmin Connect IQ
    Garmin Pay or NFC

    How continuous is the HR readings? For example, does it take measurements every 5 sec, 1min, 5min, etc?

    • @WesKnows
      @WesKnows  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Garmin varies it’s HR sampling rate based on intensity. Meaning during sleep its a longer interval between readings than when working out. The exact freq is not specified in the instructions manual. But considering the budget brand Huawei and Honor do 10min when sleeping, once per second when doing a workout.. Garmin most likely does that as well.. considering IT IS the trend setter😉

    • @EljinRIP
      @EljinRIP 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WesKnows perhaps, but I know fitbit does every 5sec during normal activity tracking use and every 1sec during exercise tracking, so perhaps they'd be closer to fitbit than huawei? I may look into it to see if I can find out.

    • @WesKnows
      @WesKnows  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Bruce! I am a fan of Garmin tech and revolutionary research.. since all Garmin wearables are deeply integrated into the Garmin Ecosystem it’s not just the lloks you’re buying but a Garmin experience.. and no, I don’t think the Venu SQ looks cheap.. it looks functional 🧐 considering it’s multi sport potential, battery life and clinical accuracy- in my mind it’s not a like 4 like with the Samsung Galaxy Watch. The latter is an advanced smartwatch with a different purpose and featurelist. If you are after a serious sports watch for a budget price, the Venu SQ is your best bet💪
