I think often that this last 40 years, not too much has changed compared to the 40 years from 1944 to 1984. Music, fashion, etc changed drastically from 1944 to 1984, I would say much more so than from 1984 to 2024. People are still wearing blue jeans, t-shirts, and listening to synth music.

I was 20 when this song was released. It’s timeless but oh how I don’t know where actual time has gone to. So many twists and turns, trials and tribulations, good and bad times, regrets…and yet other things I wouldn’t change whatsoever. Maybe it’s best that we can’t predict our futures because we have to learn from our mistakes so that we can grow but my mom is 83 YO now and, if there’s anyone in my life that could stay forever young, I would wish it to be her, as well as my daughter. I lost my paternal grandmother at 95 YO in 2016 and my maternal grandmother at 98 1/2 YO in 2018. Lost my dad at 78 YO in 2019. For as long as they really did live, it still wasn’t long enough. It was both heartbreaking and heartwarming to take care of them…but an absolute honor. Something I have no regrets about even though it was very difficult, at times. Also lost my father-in-law at 57 YO in 2011. I sure wish they could’ve all remained forever young and wish the same for other dear loved ones and friends that meant so much to me and always will until my last breath. I wish the same for others who have also lost those that dearly meant so very much. As another commenter said…we have to remain in trying to be young at heart. That can sometimes be the key to longevity.

My Dad's story. when he was in highschool 3 students took their fathers car on a joyride. The car flipped upside down while on fire they all died the neighbors took it very hard cause they were able to hear their screams as they died.

I'm 24 years old now, an adult always busy working. Some of my family members passed away, and old friends come and go. You never know what life can bring next, often unpredictable and fragile. For some people college is behind, we find our first actual jobs and some of us are starting families. You see, from between 30 and 60 there's not much that differs. That's the most important time period when you have to fight for those things that'll turn into sweet memories later on, just like your teenager memories. A 24yr old knows about life. They are actually at the same situation as people in their 60s. My friends father climbed Kilimanjaro last year in his 60s. You can do what you want with your life, doesn't matter if you are 25 or 55. But after college, no matter if it's your 25s or 55s, you have to make room for things to happen in your life.

This makes me so sad. They played this song at my cousin's high school graduation and then he died in a terrible accident. I can only think of his young, smiling face as he took his diploma and I tell you, it feels like a knife twisting in my heart. The sadness takes my breath away. I still can't believe it happened.
If you don't mind me asking, was it the same day as his graduation? Either way I'm extremely sorry for your loss. My dad passed on in what will be 9 years at the end of this month. One thing that makes me feel slightly better when its stinging the worst is reminding myself that it only hurts so much because that time I spent with him was SO amazing, fun, carefree & happy! I’m about to be 21 years old. Entering what I can expect to be the prime years of my youth is a very strange feeling. I know I will never feel this way again. The body, thus cut off from the quantum energy field/Unified field suffers and so what we call age is the results of groups of cells (formed into organs) relying on their own energy to survive, which slowly drains away and loses coherence until failure.
My life has been up and down but I know this for sure, watching my son grow up was the best part of my life, approaching 60 now with poor health but I take great solace from my many great memories, I am forever grateful.

I was 20 when this song was released. It’s timeless but oh how I don’t know where actual time has gone to. So many twists and turns, trials and tribulations, good and bad times, regrets…and yet other things I wouldn’t change whatsoever. Maybe it’s best that we can’t predict our futures because we have to learn from our mistakes so that we can grow but my mom is 83 YO now and, if there’s anyone in my life that could stay forever young, I would wish it to be her, as well as my daughter. I lost my paternal grandmother at 95 YO in 2016 and my maternal grandmother at 98 1/2 YO in 2018. Lost my dad at 78 YO in 2019. For as long as they really did live, it still wasn’t long enough. It was both heartbreaking and heartwarming to take care of them…but an absolute honor. Something I have no regrets about even though it was very difficult, at times. Also lost my father-in-law at 57 YO in 2011. I sure wish they could’ve all remained forever young and wish the same for other dear loved ones and friends that meant so much to me and always will until my last breath. I wish the same for others who have also lost those that dearly meant so very much. As another commenter said…we have to remain in trying to be young at heart. That can sometimes be the key to longevity.
But thankfully there's a hope of living forever young.

I'm 24 years old now, an adult always busy working. Some of my family members passed away, and old friends come and go. You never know what life can bring next, often unpredictable and fragile. You see, from between 30 and 60 there's not much that differs. That's the most important time period when you have to fight for those things that'll turn into sweet memories later on, just like your teenager memories. A 24yr old knows about life. They are actually at the same situation as people in their 60s. My friends father climbed Kilimanjaro last year in his 60s. You can do what you want with your life, doesn't matter if you are 25 or 55. But after college, no matter if it's your 25s or 55s, you have to make room for things to happen in your life.

This makes me so sad. They played this song at my cousin's high school graduation and then he died in a terrible accident. I can only think of his young, smiling face as he took his diploma and I tell you, it feels like a knife twisting in my heart. The sadness takes my breath away. I still can't believe it happened.
If you don't mind me asking, was it the same day as his graduation? Either way I'm extremely sorry for your loss. My dad passed on in what will be 9 years at the end of this month. One thing that makes me feel slightly better when its stinging the worst is reminding myself that it only hurts so much because that time I spent with him was SO amazing, fun, carefree & happy! Then i find myself being grateful I've experienced moments like these in my lifetime & seeking to recreate them all over again as a way of honoring my former memories, if that makes sense🙏🏾🌻🕊

I’m about to be 21 years old. Entering what I can expect to be the prime years of my youth is a very strange feeling. I know I will never feel this way again. This song is short and fleeting, as are my thoughts and feelings, as is life itself. I am terrified to waste these golden years but I know everybody feels that way at some point. I know what I have and I know it won’t last. I try to be grateful instead of expectant or angry, not too prepared but not too reckless. Who wouldn’t want to be forever young?
