1984. I was 23. Best days of my life. I still see me so happy and full of life and energy. I hear this song now. I’m 62. A little slower, carrying some pain but still fighting the good fight. When I hear this song I always go back to those days and I’m young again for a couple minutes and I’m smiling

Tonight i remember a old building in Belgium,1984, Smokey room full of young, naive and idealistic people , planning all kinds of things, what to eat?, protesting against "the bomb", buying a second hand bus to escape to the provence!!, these kids, formed a small commune back then, trying very hard to escape the ratrace of working for money, the "money piramide" i cald it back then( still do!), or global ponsi!! with top of the pops, playing in the background and these germans preforming " forever young" . Most of them, those who are still alive anyway?, old now, scattered around the world, some still trying to escape! But most of them, working, having family's, and by now, probably grandchildren, their dreams living under the surface of their everyday life!recently i was back in this city, parked my old two - seater and walked over to this majestic old building, believe it or not,built more than a hundred years ago, for a Rich Brussels family as a Holliday home, with horses and carriages in the courtyard full of Ardennes cobblestones! nowadays its filled with illegal immigrants , people on drugs,and wath have you!

This was the song that was played at my brother's funeral. This was 13 yrs ago. He was a veteran. Severe PTSD is a VERY real thing. Every time I hear this song, it reminds me of him.
