I have a P365 and I've really liked it.However, within 500 rounds I've had roll pins moving and it doesn't take down correctly still. When the slide is locked back, you HAVE to use the slide release to LAUNCH the slide off. Otherwise, no issues. I love how my VP9s handle - the charging supports and the paddle mag especially. On those alone, I'm probably sold provided it's priced competitive to similar pistols, unlike the VP9 lineup right now -- every place I go the last few years, I see them run $300 more than their competitors

Ask HK if they will have a Hammer version?? With the popularity of appendix carry, I don't understand why companies are not releasing hammer pistols so a person can "thumb" their hammer as they re-holster so they don't shoot their family jewels off by accident. Also, German Special Forces has a tender for a new pistol, it's due next week. What is HK submitting?? That modular version??
I think the striker indicator mentioned in this video is exactly what you’re asking for. Walther had it on their PPS line of single stack handguns - the striker has an extension at the rear of the slide that sticks out when the trigger is being pulled. You can feel it with the pad of your thumb as you re-holster. You can also buy aftermarket striker plates for your Glock that function the same way. Hammer mechanisms need more vertical real estate where the slide and frame meet than what this pistol allows. Hammer length is directly related to strike energy; too short a hammer, not enough energy to reliably set off a primer. You could counteract this with an even stronger hammer spring, but this would siphon too much energy from the slide on its rearward stroke. All of this is a large part of why the industry moved to striker mechanisms. They’re much easier to engineer a low bore axis out of. They could probably design a hammer-based mechanism but it would absolutely require a completely different frame, and couldn’t possibly share the same modular FCU.
@@124thDragoon thanks for this post. I have a p30SK from LTT and love it. I’ve wondered why no one makes a smaller (mostly meaning thinner) DA/SA, but I assume the mechanism for that won’t fit in a 1-inch wide pistol. And, I assumed maybe if they could engineer that, the market for such a pistol would be too small to justify the investment.

@@BryGuy418 lol yep, the ole switcheroo
Man I’m so stoked for a HK micro compact. Not excited for what will be the cost 😅
Maybe $75 to $150 more than a sig or S&W. You know it will run from day 1 & with care and a little maintenance, will last a lifetime. I will gladly pay any premium.
I can’t wait for this cc handgun! Thank you H&K!
HK micro cc tank👍💪
I was waiting for HK to jump into the "Micro Compact" genre. It will be interesting to watch this one.
This looks like another great H&K. I hope they’ll get it to CA soon.
HK listens to their customers? That's a new one. I'm still gonna probably get one.
The paddle is a lot like the ThinkPad trackpoint. A lot of people hate it. But those of us who get it, prefer it over everything else. Glad they are sticking with it while also updating the platform with an FCU, 1.5 stack etc.
On some guns depending where they place the mag release you have to change you grip just to actuate the mag release. The paddle is within reach and honestly an easy transition from actuating a traditional mag release.
I LOVE my vp9sk but might just have to check this one out as well 😍 I really am glad that I picked HK for my first gun 😌❤️
As an American I can say I LOVE the paddles on HK and Walthers.
Dammit, he got me at paddle and RDS ready. I’ll probably get one because my full size handgun is a paddle release. They took too long so I’ve got one of the Sigs right now for micro
I wasn't excited until I heard FCU. I love the Sig P365 ecosystem, it has allowed me to piece together a gun that I can shoot as well, if not faster, than my full size pistols. Having another pistol in the market that will hopefully he able to build a similar ecosystem is awesome. Crossing my fingers that companies like Wilson Combat, Langdon Tactical, etc start providing aftermarket options.
It's just a method to make you buy more stuff - as opposed to buying a decent gun right off the bat. But, any company will gladly sell you multiple frames for a pistol.
@@oskar6661 Everyone has different tastes and having the option to get a new frame to fit your style/comfort is a huge win. Modular FCUs are the future and it’s nothing but a win for us. Idk why so many people in the gun community are so against having customization options. Also if you damage your frame now a new one ships straight to your house with no hassle.
Waiting for the HK Vp10mm to come out. I would love to get that in my carry and hunting fishing expidition
To be honest James, I just bought a Walther with the paddle mag release and I'm loving it!
I have a usp compact and the paddle mag release is superior especially for smaller hands. It also easier to locate since you don't have to alter your grip or look at the weapon to locate the mag release.
I can’t wait to get this!! I bought the VP9 and VP9 sk which I love especially when I added the pinky extender which fits like a glove, but it is still big and heavy to conceal carry.
I’m looking forward to waiting 2 years for an X Macro competitor from them!
Finally. The VP9CC! Can’t wait!
This looks so much better than the cc9 in the US.. wtf hk??!
I have a VP9 with paddles. I Love It! Paddels Rule!
Sold. RMR CC ready with the paddle release. Shut up and take my money.
Can’t wait for this to be released for purchase!
Praise HK for making a paddle mag release model!
Paddle deez nuts
Taurus was way ahead of its time when they created the pt111 G2 series.
Size, fit, capacity, ergonomics is just perfect and for a very budget friendly price.
I really wish we could get a micro compact with a hammer and v1 LEM trigger. I would order it in a second.
Literally the exact gun I've wanted for years. They don't care about us though sadly
Strikers dominate the market. For better or worse, it's what sells. I wish more people realized how good LEM is.
All HK pistols offer LEM. I highly doubt this pistol will be any different.
All about the v7 LEM
@@pets4489 even the striker fired models? That, I've never come across.
I love my VP9. This will be a lot easier to carry. I can't wait to buy one. Thanks HK!
Looks like I've found a future replacement for my Hellcat. Excited to add one of these to my growing HK collection once it's released.
Don't replace your Hellcat! ...just add the HK...
@@kodoan411 Oh I plan on keeping it, it's a great little gun. But I'm a HK fanboy at heart, so to be able to have one that works for every occasion will be nice.
great interview,,,,james,,,,thanks
Definitely need USP/P30 LEM hammer option and I’d take one!
If someone would just make a hammer-fired micro 9, they'd be the only name in the game with that market segment cornered. While this SFP9CC does offer some things not seen in the competition, we have so many variations on this striker-fired flavor, the market is feeling pretty diluted.
@@asathomas84 is there something wrong with the S&W CSX? It’s a hammer micro 9 and actually very small and comfortable. Everyone either ignores it or just genuinely doesn’t know it exists. I haven’t looked into them as I have no interest in a hammer micro 9 but unless there’s some major issue with em, it’d be worth checking out.
@@Berserkable From what I've seen, the CSX is a pretty great gun-high capacity for its size even among the micro-compacts-but only if you prefer a manual safety/1911 manual of arms. So to be clear, what I and others in the comments here are looking for is the DA/SA equivalent with no need for a manual safety. That firearm still doesn't exist in 2023.
@@asathomas84 The closest you could get with DA/SA is the now discontinued CZ RAMI D. I've heard that the CSX is not good quality or reliable and isn't any better than the Smith & Wesson Shield Plus with the same size magazines.
@@Berserkable they are just ok. Weird and tricky reset and just single action, not double. That’s all. Decent enough pistol though
jesus. another grand out of my pocket. the vp9 and vp9sk are hands down my favorite handguns. guess i need to add this one too
Just waiting on Walther’s 10 round Micro version of the PPS
Walther has been surprisingly quiet on the micro-nine front...which is odd considering the original PPS was more or less the first mass market micro-9 CCW pistol from a major manufacturer. It was ignored for years essentially before the market caught on.
That's a damn fine looking pistol. Great ergos... nothing bad.
If this shoots anything like the VP9sk, then I’m looking forward to it.
The SK is so smooth and returns to target without fanfare. Very easily controlled pistol. Hoping this comes soon, and shows to be the same in shooting character.
Walther PDP is way better lol
@@SlavicCinnamonRollie556 I have 3 PDPs. The PDP is not the same size as a VP9sk.
Wish the SK had higher round capacity.
@@pjkf01 The SK is a sweet shooter for sure.
Watching this old video shows that you deserve the 2.5m+ subs you have bro. Narration is Mike Rowe level.
This seems to be a prototype and I hope they can have a more aggressive grip texture on their final product. For the grip length I wish they had higher mag capacity but that's HK
Nonetheless, HK guns are always built with high quality and built like tanks. Really glad to see they kept the paddle and will be a modular gun.
Im waiting on Beretta or HK to provide the first Hammer fired Micro 9 !!!!
Lookin' forward to this. I used to carry a Ruger LCP II until the button magazine release got mashed while it was it my pocket - causing the magazine to be unseated when I drew it from my pocket. This would be horrible in a self defense situation. After it happened to me more than once, I got rid of it. The paddles are the way to go...
One year ago and still nothing HK, so WHEN is coming to live this in Europe?
I have a P365 and I've really liked it.However, within 500 rounds I've had roll pins moving and it doesn't take down correctly still. When the slide is locked back, you HAVE to use the slide release to LAUNCH the slide off. Otherwise, no issues. I love how my VP9s handle - the charging supports and the paddle mag especially. On those alone, I'm probably sold provided it's priced competitive to similar pistols, unlike the VP9 lineup right now -- every place I go the last few years, I see them run $300 more than their competitors
I wish Walther would get back to putting the paddle release on their guns And other firearms makers would adopt a paddle release model
I loved my PDP but if they'd slap a paddle release on it, it'd probably be the perfect pistol for me.
Heck yes, good things happen in Nuremberg.
they really didn't want you to touch it! LOL
Hope I can get this grip for cc9 I just ordered. Want paddle mag release
As someone who's looking to get a new CC gun, I'm keeping an eye on everything. I like paddle-release (used to carry an HK on duty). However, I'd imagine the price will push me elsewhere (or it'll come to the U.S. neutered somehow). Interesting product - can't wait to see reviews on the trigger/weight/size, compared to other guns in the category.
Wait until Black Friday
As a P99,Glock and Sig shooter, I like the paddle mag release a little better, I really would like to try this.
Are there going to be mag options with more than 10 rounds???
Yes.
@@tfbtvThis probably wouldn't pass muster with CA pistol roster.

Very excited for this pistol. I’ve carried a P365 since it’s release and this may finally de-throne it. Love HK pistols.
Man, I wish this gun had been released in the US and not a Taurus clone.
Thanks James!
I’ve been on the fence for awhile in getting a p365. Looks like I’m getting an HK instead. 😊
If you do further research this things sadly probably not hitting the US until 2025. It’s being made for German police right now according to HK and it *might* trickle over to the Americans at some point.
FINALLY! I own their P2000SK for 14 years and have been wanting for them to bring a Micro 9mm to the market, I can’t wait to get this little pistol. I just wished they handled it so I could ACTUALLY see it in hand. Love HK Guns, JUST AWESOME.
Should be double stacked!
It is. James likes to say "stack and a half," but this class of pistols is clearly double stacked.
Single/Double is best of both worlds.
Man James is such a great and engaging interviewer.
Paddle release all the way. The button is a recipe for an unexpected mag drop.
I'm in love ❤️ I've been waiting for this for so long!!
So this gets the optics cut, but the p30 I have to go to a whole different company. Still a neat pistol
No love for hammer boys :(
@@0dayExploit It's not 1987 anymore.
🔥
It sounds even better with the German accent
Exactly what I’ve been patiently waiting for.
Sounds to me like a better sig 365? 😗
I love my P7, VP9, VP40. and VP9SK, so this should fit in well
I carry the VP9sk and was planning to get a Hellcat or P365 this year. This is exactly what I am looking for. How long do we have to wait?
Forever... Germany only
Looks pretty neat! Maybe I'll get one home soon as a little brother of my VP9!
I plan to own All models- HAVE 3 already.. awesome guns!
