The VP9 was my first gun. I used it for concealed carry and home defense. I have about 20k rounds thru it in a little over a decade and I've never had to replace a single part on it. I had it cut for an optic but that's all I've done to the gun. When the VP9SK came out it became my primary concealed carry gun. I saw your video about this gun from the European Shot Show and when I did I said I'm buying this day 1. It would be nice to add a micro 9 to carry when my clothes make it impossible to conceal the SK. Currently I use the P365 XL for that. If I want to carry a BUG gun I use the Canik Mete MC 9 for that. I'd really like to replace the P365 XL and Canik with the new HK. I'm sure based on my experience with HK Guns it'll be great, especially when they come out with some new grip modules (hopefully it'll be less than 7 years). I'm looking forward to shooting it and see how it runs. Great video as always.
Your reviews are not only very informative, they’re entertaining as well. And your bits of humor that come out of left field are awesome. Good stuff! 👍🏻
I don’t see a market for this pistol. It’s likely more expensive than the competition and it’s not made in Germany so even as a HK fan I have no desire to purchase it.
@@K-bob_45the American market is pretty much the only large civilian market. Since it’s obviously not a military gun like most of their stuff it only makes sense to design it for the only place you’re going to sell it. Making it to compete in the German CCW market wouldn’t make much sense since there basically isn’t one.
Just something about HK. VP9 is the most accurate combat pistol I've ever shot. I've ran the tests back over and over against every other relevant gun. It always outperforms them all. The slow fire accuracy is just outstanding.
Good question... sounds like a bit of smoke being blown about the development time. This thing is clearly based on that design... just hit with the ugly stick.
They oversimplified the design of the slide and made the frame super generic, thus making it look like a (relative to HK) cheap conglomeration of all micro-9s
Super annoyed that we didn’t get the SFP9CC. I’ve been waiting for that for forever and was planning on it becoming my EDC. This one I’m not even sure I’ll buy. I may pick it up in store and see how it feels in hand

I can't wait to find out if the trigger is as good as is on the VP9, considered to be one of the best striker fired pistols in the game...Great vid TFB, one of the 1st I've seen on this HK!🫡
The 5+ year wait is because HK doesn't beta test their customers and they don't let anything out the door that isn't right from the start. I don't need or want a red dot. I don't want a light 3# trigger on a self defense pistol. I don't want porting and I don't need anymore than 10 or 12 rounds in a micro deep concealment pistol. I'll buy one of these to add to my other HKs just because I like it and it upsets the tactitards.
@@marvinprietos3141 Its was the micro compact for the *EUROPEAN* market. HK never once said it would be available for the US market. The CC9 is their micro compact answer for the US market.
Excellent gun. Love mine. But it is chunky. I was waiting for a similar gun that was in the 1-inch ish width range from HK. Also hammer fired would’ve been great.
H&K could have sold the 243 (civilian G36 copy), or put it in XM8 furniture. They could've sold the MP7 in either 4.6mm or .22lr. They could've updated the USP with an optics ready model. A MR223 with the latest 416 upgrades, maybe even 416 markings. Re-release the P7. But noooo, they had the great idea that you need a Canik slide on a Taurus frame. Yes H&K, that's totally what we need right now.
@@fn6266 I don't think Taurus actively turns their nose up at non-gov buyers. Pretty sure that attitude still very much exists at HK. I'm old enough to remember it being all but told to go F yourself for even asking to finger an HK.

I think most would rather have an import- though it is good that they are beginning to be made here- which buffers the ability of leftists to do a blanket ban on them from being imported via presidential order plus it gives American jobs and we will gain workers and factories that learn how to produce them here- hopefully they will invest training and equipment to ensure quality

Needs a paddle mag release and 4 inch barrel version... i also don't like relying on the magazine for grip length. If I didn't already have a 365 xmacro I'd consider it.
The biggest miss I can see, is the lack of manual safety (they didn't even mention on their website writeup about the future availability). When P365 was first released in 2018, it didn't have the manual safety either, but the owner's manual clearly illustrated there's a manual safety equipped version, and they delivered in 2019. Size-wise, it's a P365 with 0.2 inches added to length and height, and 1 oz added to the weight. For IWB/OWB, these don't make much difference, but for pocket carry, every millimeter and every 0.1 oz matters. Because the pants' pocket has finite room inside, when the gun is bigger, the holster has to be bigger too, there's less room left for your hand to maneuver and draw the weapon in a swift and smooth fashion. And the pants' pocket is not built to carry some one-and-half pound weight whole day, every day (my P365MS with 11 rounds of 147gr HST, flat floor plate, TLR-6 light, and Recluse TS SOLO holster, weighs 25.3 oz). So the heavier it gets the more likely it'd break your pocket some day, and cause your carry piece to fall to the floor :) Internally it copied the P365's modular chassis and interlocked take down features, externally it copied the Taurus G3/G4 TORO looks. And the $699 MSRP price tag, which is $100 over P365, it copied from ... HK themselves. I got my P365 in 2019 for $499, and from my search on gun dot deals, they are still selling for that price. So with HK price and Taurus looks, trying to compete with SIG which is $100 cheaper and came out six years earlier, and with almost every gun maker making a version of P365 these days, I don't think HK has only one screw loose, they are totally screwless :)
I"m an unabashed HKuck. My EDC was a VP9SK until I started wearing skinny jeans with my fishnet t-shirts. I have big yet oddly sensitive hands, the HK grips are way more comfortable than Glock, Springfield et al and because I don't panhandle I'm willing to spend a few bucks on something great. I'll definitely consider one.
This is the most disappointing gun release in recent memory! The VP9CC / SFP9CC is the gun I and many others really wanted, but instead we get a Taurus with an HK stamp. I mean come on this doesn't even have the paddle magazine release! If this "first ever designed in America HK" is a sign of things to come then I guess count me out.
It probably is. Idk what is wrong with americans they just can't handle the paddle release. It's like their brains explode at anything that isn't a browning clone
I own two. The CC9 is my new favorite gun. After three of my four P365s suffered various internal breakages, with each needing trips to customer service (one went back three times), I needed something more reliable. I shoot around 1500 rounds (only name brand factory new - never cheap shit) per month in various guns, so it's not like any of the 365s were abused. Each had around 1000 rounds when the breakages started. So I only carried a G26 until the CC9 came out. I still like my Glocks, but this HK does carry better.
I own several H&K's, and they all shot flawlessly and were the best pistols that I ever help in my hand. A P30LS in 9mm, another one like it in 40 S&W.. I wish H&K made an all metal one. That's why my survival gun would be one of my Sigs or CZ's.
As an avid HK fanboy, the aesthetics are disappointing aftwer waiting so many years. The VP9 is a great looking gun, why not make a smaller version of it instead? I'm 100% sure I will still own the CC9, but come on HK!
Nah I agree, it's part of the reason they can charge so much. If they aren't from the German plants it losses some of that German elitist authenticity that helps justify paying double what every other company asks for
I couldn't wait for the SFP9CC, got the P30SK. Slightly smaller than the VP9SK, thicker than the CC9 by about .25". I swapped the floor plate from the 12 round mag with a flat floor plate from a 10 round mag for better concealability. Paddle release is another big plus for me. No optics cut model available, shouldn't matter at 7-10 yard engagement.
H&K made a Taurus G2C clone?! Sick! I love my Taurus, got it at a pawn shop for $180 and it runs great. Almost 200 rounds with only one malfunction. Maybe I'll get one of these instead of upgrading to a G3C when my settlement money clears.
It's not a real HK / It's doomed / It's ugly / What did they do since 2021? / Where is the paddle mag release? / Give us the SFP9CC Choose your fav phrase(s)
Why couldn’t they just give us the SFP9CC? The extra thickness would be fine, I have big hands and can handle the vp9sk and no one will really notice a difference. The modularity is somewhat of a selling point if make it a bit thicker and get a 15 round mag for it.
So it's late to the market for it's category and the unique selling points of HK that might've set this apart were all removed! It doesn't have HK's classic styling. It doesn't have the cocking ears. It doesn't have the paddle mag release. Even just one of those would've been a huge selling point for this gun. They took everything that made the SFP9CC cool and interesting, and removed it.
People don't actually buy HK for "German reliability". They do it because they're cool. Nothing wrong with that. HK once again has proven they don't care about the civilian market. Ina subcompact, the paddle release could have been a godsend for some people but they didn't do that. They're relying on their name alone to compete in an already established market
They don't want to put any effort to support the 2a. Matter of fact I would say they do everything they can to undercut it so they can remain under the thumb of the govt
HK has a good track record for reliability but if their explanation for the wait is to make it flawless they are going to look really stupid if it's anything but mk23 reliable at launch. As for ergos, you're wrong it doesn't have a paddle mag release therefore they suck 😁
found the rube with more money than sense 😂 lmao! come on dude I'm a huge HK fanboy but this is legitimately inferior to every subcompact out right now. I wouldn't trust my life to a tiny toy with 12 round mag when a g43x can carry 15 and p365x and xmacro can carry 17 rounds and the barrel is actually a useable length
Too late with nothing new. It’s going to be more expensive, the trigger will suck, no paddle, impossible to get spare parts or many holster options and horrible customer services. No thank you.
I picked one up. Its fit and finish is equal to or greater than anything made in Germany. Seems better made than a VP9. Even the etching on the polymer is very well executed - it doesn’t look like a throwaway piece like a P365 grip frame. The magazines are solid - probably the best looking American made mags for a poly pistol. I consider the Springfield Hellcat the highest quality micro-compact and this exceeds it. Feels much better in the hand too.

Good stuff! 👍🏻
Once you mentioned the Taurus I couldn’t unsee it
I don’t see a market for this pistol.
It’s likely more expensive than the competition and it’s not made in Germany so even as a HK fan I have no desire to purchase it.
Yeah. The not German thing is a no from me. More like Heckler, Kinda… amirite?
No problem with American made Hk. I have a problem when they change the design for the American market for the worse
I’m an HK fan and am definitely getting one. Sure it would be better if it was made in Germany but it would also be more expensive.
@@K-bob_45the American market is pretty much the only large civilian market. Since it’s obviously not a military gun like most of their stuff it only makes sense to design it for the only place you’re going to sell it. Just something about HK. VP9 is the most accurate combat pistol I've ever shot. I've ran the tests back over and over against every other relevant gun. It always outperforms them all. The slow fire accuracy is just outstanding.
Why is it so cheap looking? What happened to the SFP9CC? That thing was sexy and looked like a proper HK
Good question... sounds like a bit of smoke being blown about the development time. This thing is clearly based on that design... just hit with the ugly stick.
They oversimplified the design of the slide and made the frame super generic, thus making it look like a (relative to HK) cheap conglomeration of all micro-9s

The slide looks to be ~twice the size of the SFP9CC’s, the lines don’t look very H&K at all, and where the hell did the “German” style mag release go?

H&K could have sold the 243 (civilian G36 copy), or put it in XM8 furniture. They could've sold the MP7 in either 4.6mm or .22lr. They could've updated the USP with an optics ready model. A MR223 with the latest 416 upgrades, maybe even 416 markings. Re-release the P7.
But noooo, they had the great idea that you need a Canik slide on a Taurus frame. Yes H&K, that's totally what we need right now.

So the heavier it gets the more likely it'd break your pocket some day, and cause your carry piece to fall to the floor :)
Internally it copied the P365's modular chassis and interlocked take down features, externally it copied the Taurus G3/G4 TORO looks.
Just got email from grabagun, they are actually selling the CC9 right now for $699.99. Any takers? :)
It's a shame they didn't bring that SFP9CC to market. That gun looks very nice and HK.

It probably is. Idk what is wrong with americans they just can't handle the paddle release. It's like their brains explode at anything that isn't a browning clone
What is pissing me off about the whining over the lack of a paddle is that it was AMERICANS that bitched and moaned that they didn't want paddles.
I really would've loved an updated P2000 sized pistol with native 15rd flush mag.
No paddle mag release tho?
HK always had innovative safety and trigger designs. Nothing like that here to set this apart from the competition.
As an avid HK fanboy, the aesthetics are disappointing aftwer waiting so many years. The VP9 is a great looking gun, why not make a smaller version of it instead? I'm 100% sure I will still own the CC9, but come on HK!
Would it be as reliable as this?
congrats your the target market. idiots who for band rather than effectiveness
I mean...the SFP9CC exists in Europe...that's exactly what the SFP9CC is. It's a micro VP9.
If I’m buying an HK, I want it to be made in Germany…
Go live there.
