    Symptoms of spinal stenosis are asymptomatic when lying down or sitting, but when standing or walking, back pain, numbness in both hips and legs, and weakness occur.
    The key to this self-exercise is widen your vertebral foramen and stay in good condition. If you perform this exercise when you have symptoms of stenosis, you will see the effect immediately. According to the research 2006 shows that 41% of patients were recovered with this self- workout.

    Good video. The woman doing the exercises was in tip top shape…I bet she has no spine issues. I think they should use old people with real bad spinal stenosis like me to demonstrate.

    I have been doing similar exercises for 15 years. I am now 80. They work.

      I’m still doing them at 80, along with light weights. I don’t have static pain. I do feel some mild discomfort from time to time if I do any work for more than thee hours.

      @@sayanichd I certainly can’t promise you the stretching exercise will work for you. Depends on many variables, where it is located. Neck, upper spine, lower spine, etc. I got a second opinion from a neurosurgeon who I really respected. The surgery the ortho doc wanted to do was very invasive. Injections or surgery as options if my current program ever stops working.

    I've watched many videos on spinal stenosis, but this is the only one that, in addition to giving exercises that are doable for someone like me who was recently diagnosed with severe stenosis at L4-L5, gives the specific advice to repeat the entire series every 2-3 hours. So I set my timer for every two hours for the last two days. I could feel positive improvements in only two days, which I couldn't do with others for the previous six months.
    Other videos show me almost the same exercises, so they could be effective as well. But being told to do it every 2-3 hours takes the guesswork out of when I should do it, and some of the routines in other videos are so intimidating that I dreaded doing them. This series of exercises does not frighten me, but rather makes me eager to complete them.

    I tried this & in 3 days I felt pain relief, to almost no pain & had mobility in my spine where previously for last 2 years unable to walk or move out of bed without pain & difficulty. I knew i needed physical therapy of some type but previous PT was not good. I will do this exercise forever & delay considering decompression surgery. I have spondylolisthesis gr 1 & stenosis in 2 discs, 5 bulging discs & facet issues. THANK YOU WOODBINE!

    The first time I practiced this exercise for therapy, I was so surprised. It was like a miracle because I felt my back pain almost went away right after I finished the complete sets in the video. I continued to practice the exercise once per day since then for a month and found huge improvement, even there were still some flare ups every two/three days or a week. The flare ups have become less and less pain. If I knew and practiced this video a year ago, then I would not have to suffer my back pain for a year long. I just met my physical therapist today and have shown him this video. The therapist strongly agreed and advised me to continue practice the exercises in the video plus he gave me two more exercises for harmstring stretch. Thank you so much🤠😊😀

    Since I followed your instruction of exercises I feels the recovery of my Lumbar Spinal Stenosis injury.
    Am 74 and suffered of this spinal diagnosis symptom early March last year 2023.
    The numbness is still covered the palm of my feet.
    Is there any side effect for taking long terms like Neurobion B1,B6&B12 and Pregabalin Rewisca 50mg for nerve pains?

    I had mildly invasive lumbar surgery. They go in & clear bone away from spine . Gives cord more room.
    No rods etc. simple

    So I did the exercises. Alot of bending over in final exercise with 4 bend exercises 10 times 3 reps each I believe is 120 bend overs… quite a bit which obviously can flareup more complicated stenosis with disc herniation involved. Physical Trrspists notes it helps 41% according to 2006 study. Okay so what happened to other 59% and what were the factors that contributed to it helping the 41% and not helping the 59%. This would be useful to know so one could evaluate whether to go forward with the exercises. My stenosis is bilateral at 2 levels L3:4 and L4:5 and is foraminal and central canal with 4:5 being disc herniation years ago. So I am not sure all that bending over is good in my case. Other exercises are good as I do modifications of those for many years but spinal stenosis is very problematic in my case. Would love to know what part of 59% went on to decompression surgery and if it helped relieve symptoms at what success rates and degree. This type of info is very lacking in medical studies of stenosis.

      This is the physical theraphy center at Cheongdam Wooridul Spime Hospital.
      In 2006 research paper described, self-exercise showed 41% improvement.
      In addition, in the case of manual therapy, physical therapy, and walking, 79% of patients recovered.
      Given these results, you need professional help for a better recovery.
      In particular, if you have a condition such as disc herniation or spondyloarthrosis, you must get advice from specialist.
      Since most spinal stenosis begins with mild symptoms so aggressive surgery is not required at early stage.
      However, surgery should be considered when nerve palsy is evident and daily life becomes difficult.
      According to a 2008 study by the North American Spine Society (NASS), surgery for severe stenosis is 80% effective and it is more effective than medication or injections.
      Influencing the prognosis after surgery is a low disability index,general health status, comorbidities, depression,
      and physical function.
      Please refer to the above and find the proper treatment for you.

    I am 89 and have this very badly in 4 places. I haveto do the exercises on my bed. I live alone and cannot get up if I go on the floor.

    How is spinal stenosis diagnosed? I was diagnosed with it for gluteal tendinopathy but the surgery made no difference to the pain. Exercises will not help!

    I had to go through hernia operation,a mesh placed in my lower abdomen...sometimes the very first exercise delivers me Some irritation or pain like feeling in that region... What should I do ?
    Also i have a gym ball which is very effective for my stenosis... But the same thing happening again.. kindly suggest...

    Sir I am India and I am suffering from spinal stenosis I have started doing your work out at home and feeling better. Can you please tell what workout I am not suppose to do at the Gym and at home rest of the stretches.🙏🏼

      If you have spinal stenosis, you need to be careful with the "supine bridge and prone press up" exercises that stretch your back excessively. Exercises that cause back pain or numbness in the legs should also be stopped immediately.

    I can't do this every three hrs..I am still working. Is once a day after work ok..I also don't have any back pain and what I have is very slight. I do have numbness in my feet and hands .Tingling also. My diagnosis is Lunbar and my Doctor told me to do Therapy but I can't afford these guy's
    So I am hear hoping this will help overtime. 🙏 Is this beneficial.
