Thank you guys, I've been dealing with spinal stenosis for a year before watching your video. I mistakenly blamed my pain on the side affects of my cancer drugs. It has been just 2 days using your stretching exercises and my pain has all but stopped. Yes, it's only been 2 days but I am an active tennis player and I know if something is not right.. This is a life changing moment, as I was preparing for surgery.
I am so grateful to you!!! I have this excruciating back pain for years. Spent lots of money but nothing worked. Started your exercises and in a few days I was able to walk much better. Thanks 🙏 👍 again.
I like it how you broke it down using the spinal part. Showing how extension and flexion affects the lumbar spine can help us visualize it better. Great video. Thank you!
Thank you very much. I find this video very useful. I have suffered this condition for a long time as I didn't know about it. I have felt a difference in my affected leg after doing the exercises from this & 2 other videos.
Been diagnosed with spinal stenosis from scans and found this information very helpful. However getting down for me is difficult as I also have knee osteo arthritis and can't get up easily.
I also sit on a set of stairs, and lean forward between my knees, I lean down while sitting to touch the lower step -- that's an AMAHZING stretch for spinal stenosis!
GREAT video, thank you. Starting into these exercises, how many days should be adequate to know each exercise is beneficial or causes more problems? What exercise is likely to be the best to do first?
These r best exercises with instant results I have ever come across. Thanks a ton 😘😘God bless you .keep up the great @ Back Intelligence Kindly make a video on sacroilliac joint pain relief exercise 🙏
Can you still gain any benefit from these exercises if someone moves my legs for me as I don’t have enough strength in my left leg to lift it up myself?
Thanks for the video.could you please help me on the below request I am facing issue with entire body shivering while sleeping and in sitting. I am suffering with lower back pain. And also not getting sleeping since 2 weeks. Could you please let me know shall I do this exercise for better improvement of my daily routine life.
I’m not sure if I should do those stretches/ exercises or not . My lumbar CT two weeks ago, revealed L3-L4 disc bulge, L5-S1 disc bulge , bone spur, spinal stenosis as well as significant degeneration of the facets and moderate degeneration of the dice
I had a sacroilliac joints fusion 4 1/2 years ago after which Ive been in acute pain. It hurst the most when sitting. I also have stenosis, do you recommend this exercises in my case?
Why is it difficult to walk or just stand? I feel like it is bone on bone cramming together with every step I take. I can do the first exercise but I have scoliosis and my back has a half basketball on right side surrounding shoulder blade and ribs.
I have fusion in both lumber and cervical with stage 2 stenosis,I have pain in legs and right hand from the shoulder have dizziness most of the time,is this exercise applicable?
I'm confused 😞 I thought extention will reduce herniation pain, and bending forward causes issues. I have l4 l5 s1 herniated disk and stenosis, more towards the right, so can I bend or not (I cannot sit down as any sitting ends up burning with more sciatic symptoms)
So helpful and brilliantly explained. Can anyone tell me how many times daily you should do these exercises, should you incorporate them all each time, and for how long should you do each one? Thanks.
My mother has not been able to walk properly since 9 years and it has become serious since 5 years. If we scan, the doctor said there is a problem in the lumbar. she is unable to walk properly and she has no balance in standing please tell me some exercises to get rid of it. and also she is getting pain while doing exercises
Dr, Thanks! Question :@1:35 Wouldn't bending forward actually cause the disc to bulge out further backwards? Then why are Mackenzie exercises recommended? Thanks!
Stenosis isn't only due to disc bulges... It's the narrowing of the spinal canal which can press on spinal cord. Leaning forward creates more room for the spinal canal.
I have bone spurs on my spine in the lower back. they think it's from years in the army and all the ruck marching and jumping out of helicopters. would stretching and doing all these exercises help or would the Spurs cause damage by repeatedly doing these things?
Aren't these relievers? How about if you want to correct the problem? Wouldn't it be actually building your muscles around your waist and the lower back?
I tried all of this and it seems okay. But the last dead bug with the arms included, I notice something when I tried that. For every stretch of the arm and leg, there is something like clicking in my back. Is that a good sign?
I have lumbar stenosis. I have been to chiropractor and physiotherapy for almost 3months now. But still experiencing scoliatica pain. I think they focus on sciatica not the lumbar stenosis
The first workout is the same when Muslims do their prayers. Each time I do my prayer it feels AMAZING and relief to your lower back. Guess what, Allah made us and he knows our maintenance. Alhamdo ilAllah
According to my MRI, At L4-L5: there is mild narrowing of both neural foramino. The central canal is not narrowed. At L5-S1: there is mild narrowing of both neural foraminal. The central canal is not narrowed. Impression: Mild BILATERAL NEURAL FORAMINAL STENOSIS.OTHERWISE NO EVIDENCE OF NERVE ROOT COMPROMISE. Please do help me what stretching exercises I will do. Thank you.
What if you have both lumbar foraminal stenosis at L5/S1 (moderate to severe) and herniated/bulging disc at L4/L5 - both extension and flexion exercises both don’t cause noticeable pain - minimal discomfort sometimes but goes away when stopped. Neurogenic claudication has been improving from 20 seconds to 1 minute.
What kind of exercises should I do? MRI IMPRESSION: LA-L5 Level: Diffuse dise bulge with mild stenosis of the central spinal canal and bilateral lateral recess with abutment of the bilateral 15 traversing nerve roots. Mild stenosis of bilateral neural foramina at the same level. L5-S1 Level: Diffuse dise bulge with broad based central and right paramedian dise extrusion, Moderate stenosis of the central spinal canal, Severe stenosis of right and mild stenosis of left lateral recess with compression on right and abutment of the left S1 traversing nerve roots. Mild stenosis of bilaterai neural foramina at the same level. Degenerative changes in LS-Spine.

Hello, I came across your videos when doing some research. For a while now i have been suffering with bad headaches and neck pain. The pain seems to radiate from the base of my skull over my scalp and towards my eyes (Often hurts to move my eyes around). I have noticed that arching my back or any subtle neck movements seems to aggravate the pain. At times it feels like there is a clamp around my head and feels as if I am unconsciously tensing every single muscle in my head and neck at once. I spend a lot of time sitting in front of a computer and I must admit that I am overweight which probably doesn't help. I have convinced myself that I have a brain tumor or some other terminal illness (I am a bit of a hypochondriac). I have been to the doctors countless times to receive no definitive answer, and I am left missing a lot of study at university due to sleeping problems which has been brought on by this issue. Any ideas would be extremely helpful and appreciated. Thank you
Might also consider seeing a pain management doctor. I have arthritic issues with the entire cervical spine (on the left side). I experience the pain up from neck over head and to the eye as well. Best of luck. I hope you find some relief real soon. It really sucks!

Other than the core bracing, are there any exercises that alleviate foraminal stenosis for longer than the stretches that only work while doing them?
Core & Glute exercises are in general the 2 main areas to target for rehab and prevention of future problems.
