Nice job with the install, but I did a couple of things to clean it up a bit more... I (like you) don't have T-Signals hanging from the spots so I shortened up the threaded mounting stud a bit... In addition, the housings are "grounded" to the mount, itself with no need for a second wire, leaving you with One tiny lead wire (on mine. Maybe two on yours)... This allowed me to drill a small hole directly in the ends of the light bar, and and a little larger (elongated) one out of sight to the rear at the center of the bar... EASY as pie to run the little wire inside the tubing and exit under the steering head rather than have them looped out in front of your ride. Shovelheads had this in the 1970s, and for some reason Harley dropped the ball and went BACKWARDS on tons of design features on the King vs the old Glides. Don't get me started on the "chromed" PLASTIC parts. LOL Now if we could just get the bulb manufacturers to make the stupid halo ring AMBER, allowing riders to get the ugly turn signals off of the bars, and keeping things clean... Hope they see this. :))
Wow...you did an amazing job. Love this look. I’m waiting on my windsplitter and passing lamps to be installed this week on my RoadKing 2018 Special. The hold up has been the brackets. Thanks for the video brother🤙🏽
I guess like minds think a like . I painted the bar a gloss black. Great job explaining! Don't waste money on HD lights. On all my HDs I use Eagle Lights. All run around the 6k output and are 100% Life time guarantee.
@@thedakotahurley i have ordered that key turn signal relocation kit and all of the other parts to make this set up work. I don’t think the $30 Amazon tubular cross under passing light bracket is going to be comparable with HD’s turn signal relocation kit tho. Hi, my auxiliary light just has 1 cable to the power and grounding by light bracket, how to make passing light operate along with head lamp? Appreciate for your reply
Really nice work and looks good , looks like it belongs in the bike . Your bike does have the docking hardware correct? . Where did you get the docking hardware for the windshield please .
Hi! Thanks for a very good an informative video. I've just got everything connected and it works perfect. My big problem is that I can't get the DPDT-switch to fit on the inside when mounting it to the RKS. The space is really small and the switch is to big on the inside/backside. I assume you mounted it in one of the two positions for switches in front of the tank? If so which side is your switch mounted on (if there is a difference in available space between right and left)? Best biker regards from Sweden.
I mounted mine on the left side in front of the tank. The right side has the switch for my "Cool Flow Fan" The switch is a bit big and it took some effort to route the switch and wire in there. To make the switch take less space, I solder my wires to the switch using a thiner 12 gauge wire.
These look amazing on your bike! For the LED Lamps in the link in your description, is it $50 for 1 light or 2? Didn't know if I had to buy 1 or 2 of these $50 listings. I guess the same question on gloss black housings too. Thanks!
@@rtabcum Thank you youre right, 50 for the pair! Thank you so much for your video again and please checkout my channel, I JUST installed my own last night! Cheers and I love your channel. I've watched all on the RKS several times :)
Hi, light bar and lamps look great. I'm gathering parts now to put on my 2018 Road king special. What is it you used to cover the wires going from the passing lamps to the headlight housing ? Looks like cloth, anyway would like to know where to find it . Thanks
Hi, its an expandable wire loom sleeve. Here is a link to a similar product on Amazon www.amazon.com/dp/B07C3D1Q4R/ref=twister_B086YC6JXT?_encoding=UTF8&th=1
The linked Amazon passing lamp bracket in the discription us advertised as fitting "1994-2013 Harley Davidson Road King, Electra Glide, and Touring Models". Is that what you used or another variation?
I just checked my Amazon history of purchase and the one in the link I provided is the light bar that fits my 2020 Road King Special. I know the description on Amazon says 1994 to 2013 now. If Amazon did not change the product, it should be the same one.
They wil work great o dume buggies but the spread is wide and not far distant so just know that the light is more of a wide spread than spot type. Another thing is the LED light hight should be mounted about 3 ft above the ground. Any higher or lower will distort the street projection.
Yes an independent switch mounted behind the headlight. The 3 position switch description is in the youtube video description and also in the video near the end.
With the swept back handlebar, mounting the stock turn signal would cause them to point outward. I used the same bracket and mount but had to re-position the bracket. The pin did not align. Not sure how I can post pictures of what was done. It's hard to explain in words. Let me know if you can not figure it out and I'll try to put together a video this weekend.
@@CryptoiNNERG The Auxilary light used in the video and the stock turn signal that came with the RoadKing Special are not the right parts. To relocate the turn signal to be mounted under the lightbar, you will need a different auxilary light from Harley and a different turn signal as the auxilary light and turn signal are threaded together as 1 assembly. To me, I don't see an easy way to adapt the stock Roadking Special turn signal to the light bar.
@@rtabcum thank you! I ordered the turn signal relocation kit from Harley and the passing/aux light housing to insure a perfect fit. Thank you for the information 👊💯
Good afternoon. I wanted to reach out to u and see if i could get ur help. I just got my 2020 RK special. And love it! So i want to put the passing lamps on but want to get more detailed help on the connections. If u would be willing to help me out with that i would appreciate it. I’m going to order all the parts u suggested. So now i just want ur help. Let me know if u could help me out. Thank u
There are a few items I did not list and you will need to purchase based on your preferece. You will need extra wires for positive and negative. Possibly 24 gauge is sufficient. You will need some kind of connectors to couple the auxilariy light to power as the lights only included pigtails. If you don't know how to solder, you will need to a crimp kit. I've optimized the wiring to be less complex and remove the automitive style relay and used a DPDT style switch instead. If you are not electrically inclined, I was recommend you find someone who is knowledgeable and can come over and work with you in person. Its very difficult to talk through the phone and worste through emails. Believe me, I know.
RT California awesome. Thank u. I am a little electricaly inclined. So i would be able to do it i just need to follow some instructions. I appreciate it. I will re read ur message and see what else to purchase and then hopefully i can figure it out. Thank u. If i have any questions when i am doing it. Hopefully i can reach out and ask u again. Thank u. I should be able to figure it out with all the parts. Ride safe!!

Will that work on a Road King special 2023?
how to adjust the passing light ? mine came to be very high !
This is a great video. Do you have any idea if the bracket would fit a 2021 special?

Wish someone would come up with a way to put passing lights on a Harley Freewheeler.

this should work on 2022 Road King Special as well, correct?
