    Respect to this man. I actually thought FF used a drum machine the 1st time I heard them because compared to the drummers in thrash metal that I was used to listening to that just played really fast double bass, he was doing complicated patterns on the bass that I would only expect people to be able to do with their hands. I just assumed no human could do this with their feet. I wish I could just sit down and talk to him for 20 minutes or so.

    I saw Fear Factory in 1993 at a small venue in Birmingham England called Edwards Number Eight (sadly now closed as far as i know) and Raymond's drumming very nearly blew me out the back of the venue lol

  • @00ELDuderino00
    @00ELDuderino00 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Yeah, it's not just his skill for playing, it's his skill for songwriting. I miss that fusion so much to their new albums. They sound almost like glued together. They lost some kind of realness. And also Christian obviously took a big part on that. It was a real whole Band, now it's more like a Burton+Dino-thing.

      @@MoveInSilence23 Oh again? Thx for the news buddy, I'll check it out!
      But I feel like I don't care anyway. Without Chris and especially Ray FF never reached at least the half of their awesomeness of their early days. The albums after Archetype was pretty disapointing to me.
      Don't wanna blame Burton and Dino. I think both together was always about 60% of FF but unfortounately they never had a good replacement of the 40% added by Ray and Chris.

    • @blackefeltsch7459
      @blackefeltsch7459 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely. The way his drumming synchronized with Dino's staccato riffs made the FF sound what it was. Too bad their whole relationship was so dysfunctional in the end.

    The best for me. The double bass kick drum king!, all these fucking idiots out there bitching about how "his hands ain't fast", well go listen to Replica, and he was never trying to be the fastest with his hands, because his own style focuses more on creating a chaotic machine gun kick drum syncopated hell!. That is all.

  • @shanegriffin2215

    Just curious, why did Raymond and Christian leave this incredible band?

    • @Gregbaltzer
      @Gregbaltzer 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They never did, that's why they sued Burton and Dino for starting another band under the Fear Factory name when Raymond and Christian never officially left. They won the lawsuit and Dino and Burton had to pay them to continue to perform under the FF name. Which later led to a lawsuit again when Burton went bankrupt and defaulted on his payments to Raymond and Christian. It's ultimately part of what led to Burton leaving FF again. Dino now has the rights back to the FF name.

    When I first got "FF" Demanufacture I thought it was fake drums,I was going to throw out the cd,,,a friend of mine said No that's RH..most Amazing thing I've ever heard,,So Philadelphia Ozzfest 98' 99' they were first band main stage,, Raymond was the Main reason I was there,,Got in first and walked almost to front of the stage and watched RH blow the Bass Heads off the front of his set beat for beat.. Awesome to see that,Made me want to up my drum game 1000%,,Thanks Raymond!!!

    He’s got great taste in music, it really makes me sad that he’s not even playing drums anymore. He developed the band’s drum style. I’d be pissed off enough to at least go on hiatus. The drums on the albums without him sound great but I can tell that it’s not him. No offense to Gene Hoglan or Mike Heller, they are both great.
