I have an old town sportsman 120 pdl. What’s the difference between this scupper mount vs the default mounting bracket? What’s the benefit of using the scupper mount?
Good morning, I have a PDL 106, with Hélix 7 G4N, I am experiencing signal loss, the original support is very tight and forces the cable, will this model work on my Kayak?
It will work but if you’re experiencing signal issues I highly doubt it’s the transducer cable. Typically the cable can be bent in all kinds of directions without issues.
@@NavarreKayakFishing Thank you very much for the answer, I'm going to change the support and see if it changes, if not it must be my connections, I use yakpower for all the electrical parts
I’m looking to possibly buy one of these to use with my Humminbird PiranhaMAX 4 and Pelican Catch 120 - is this model compatible with the transducer that comes with that fish finder as well as the scupper holes in the Catch 120?
Thanks Nick for the link 👍🏼😎 quick question... Is that going to be ok for me because i car top and a jeep and the crossbar hits up by the hump by the generic transducer Mount is. So is it tucked up far enough that it won't have that issue I guess is the real question Nick?
That’s the entire point of the scupper mount. It gets it up and out of the way so you don’t hit it and break it when loading and unloading. I’m not a big fan of the universal mounting area. It’s to easy to hit.
Putting the Helix 9 msi + g4n transducer on a 2021 sportsman 120 pdl. Do I need the scupper mount, the universal mount replacement mount, both or neither?
Hey TJ Tewshews... did you end up using the scupper mount with the Helix 9 MSI transducer? I was thinking of going the same route and I was just wondering how the transducer fit for you under the Sportsman using the scupper mount.
@@BrentAllenOutdoors Well at first I used the Navarre scupper mount and it worked ok but I was worried that it affected my image and range because it sits so deep into the recess that I'm sure some of the sonar is having to go through the hull and the manual says that's a no no for side imaging. It's very well protected that way though. Later on I bought the hydraconcepts mount and it allowed me to get flush with the hull so that nothing is in the way. While more exposed, it still gets protection from the underside of the bow where the mount is because it hangs down lower than everything else. Haven't noticed any scratches to the transducer. I do take care not to set it down directly on the transducer when getting it on and off the trailer. Especially taking care not to drag it across boat ramp rocks. The underside of the bow keeps it off the ground when laying flat. Even if you did lay it on the transducer there's enough flex that it will probably just get pushed up into the recess and not cause any damage. With the Navarre mount Im pretty sure there's a way you could still get the transducer to sit flush with the bottom. Probably with just some extra nuts.
Hey nick I have a OT sportsman 106 MK Any ideas for the transducer mount ? I keep banging the transducer when I load and unload on my pick up. I think it is sitting a little low !! Thanks BTW great videos !! Very honest and informative !!
Hi Nick, I just got around to watching this video. Have you had a chance to test this mount on the Hook 2 Double-Shot. I have a 2018 PDL and am getting tired of constantly replacing every so often the pool noodle on the PVC :).
Slightly confused. I plan on outfitting my newly acquired old town 106 mk with most likely a Hummingbird Helix 5. I am still trying to decide if I want to make the extra investment on side imaging. I have read a few other places that the side imaging doesn't work well in the predrilled transducer mount on the bottom of my particular kayak. Can anyone give me some input. I would really rather just mount the transducer to the factory position on bottom if it's going to function fine.
Nick, do you make one for the Humminbird Helix 7 G3 w/ side scan that’ll work for the OT Sportsman PDL? Getting ready to buy the XMas gift. Might be able to help out with a transducer if you need one to build off of. Thx a bunch.
Allyson, we make a mount for it. You either scupper mount it or mount it to the universal plate using the adapter we make. Send me a photo of the transducer and I will make sure you get the correct part ordered.
Just received my mount...the personal note thanking me for my business is a classy touch...Awsome company
Dave from Regina Saskatchewan Canada
Just bought mine a couple weeks ago. Came in the mail yesterday, installed today. Quick and easy! Thanks Nick!
“Just a little wobble, boop boop!” Haha love it! Good stuff as usual, and thanks for doing a Hummingbird Mount Nick. 🎣
Got my Garmin transducer mount for my Sportsman 106, works awesome.

Also, does water still come up through the scupper hole when this is installed or is it watertight?
You would need the “Humminbird” version. Water still drains through the scupper hole correctly.

Would this work with Lawrence skimmer ?
It will work with the skimmer transducer.
would this work for a Humminbird helix 5 old town 106MK?
Yes.
Will this work with the Hummingbird 197 dci. I'm having trouble getting that transducer to line up just right in the recessed area...
Which transducer do you have?
@@NavarreKayakFishing. I believe its Transducer
XNT 9 DI T
It will work with that transducer.
Putting the Helix 9 msi + g4n transducer on a 2021 sportsman 120 pdl. Do I need the scupper mount, the universal mount replacement mount, both or neither?
The scupper mount will keep it protected better then the universal plate. We ship out of ton of them for that reason.

Just got my Garmin with your mount !! Can’t wait to get on the water
Do you still make this item? Does it work with the Helix 7 SI Chirp G4 transducer?
We do still make it and it does work with Helix 7.
Would this mount work in the scupper holes of a pelican catch 120? I would probably put a hummingbird helix 7 fish finder on it.
We have multiple people who have used the mount on various Pelicans. If you purchase it and run into any issues we will refund it.

Which transducer do you have? Feel free to send me an email or give me a call.
It’s a hummingbird helix 7 G3 with side scan.
Ty !!
@@joegarofalo5619 i have same issue did you ever figure out solution? thinking of getting one of these i have helix 5
Is good with a helix side scan transducer?
Which kayak are you mounting it on?
@@NavarreKayakFishing it’s in a old town pred PDL. I think 2017. The one with the circle hatch
Side scan will work if you can get it mounted in the old scupper hole. Going to be a tight fit. Let me know if you have questions during the install.

@@NavarreKayakFishing Sorry, senior moment - Lowrance Hook2 split-shot transducer (no sidescan).

Side scan will function fine using the supplied mount.
Do you know if it would work with a Hummingbird Helix 12?
I know multiple people who have mounted 10” monitors on it but I don’t know of anyone who has gone bigger.
Hi Nick, since this scupper mount places xducer pretty much flush with bottom, are there any issues with the functionality of side scanning?
No, sir. Side scan doesn’t scan at 90 degrees. It scans out and down at an angle. The transducer being so close to kayak won’t cause any issues.
Great... good to know. Thanks!
Thanks nick
The web link is invalid, says "account suspended". How do I contact you to order the Hummingbird scupper transducer mount???
Website will be back up shortly - solving that problem.
How do I order? Got a hummingbird piranhamax 4 di mounting to 2017 old town predator 13?
so does it work with lowrance transducer like the split shot or triple shot?
It does work with the Lowrance Splitshot. It hasn’t been tested with the Tripleshot (the transducer may be to long to Mount in the scupper area).
@@NavarreKayakFishing thank you im looking into this for the old town autopilot 120
You would need to trim the bolt (or purchase a shorter bolt) a bit so it fits under the motor mount without any issues.

It does. Email if you have any questions.
How can I have one of these made for the hummingbird
It will be going on a ascend 12t kayak
You can order the Humminbird version here - navarrekayakfishing.com/shop/scupper-transducer-mount/

As long as it has the same mount as the one in the video it will work.

would this work with my pelican the catch 110 hydryve 2 by any chance?
