- The Hera II from Microtech features no body screws (except for the pocketclip). In this video I show you have to disassemble this OTF knife.

I know that this is an old video, however something for people to keep in mind, that according to a video from Microtech on the disassembly of the Combat Troodon and Hera II, Ray stated that if the hidden boss screws are tampered with, it will 100% void the warranty, but other than those four screws you are good to disassemble and clean etc without any fear of warranty issues. I actually had to take mine apart as they forgot to put the white lithium grease on the springs and they were driving me nuts with the spring sing. 👍🤠
Totally makes sense
Amazing! Seems like it is fixed by the only tail screw. It's much easier for maintaining. 🤔Hope to see somebody do the torture test with the handle.
Awesome Work Mega Cool Microtech Hera 2 Switchblade Otf Knife I Like it so much
Braver man than I!!
Good stuff brother👊🏻
I definitely NEEEEED one of both of those 😢
I think heck yeah 👍. I was looking at the amphibian
like the size total but not without trigrip or frag pattern and S/E ...legal to carry
Makes me expect that this knife can't be as strong overall as traditional construction. Those screws can't be holding the top plate nearly as strongly as they would be if they were screwed through from the top. It's a nice idea though and lacking strength probably won't matter to 99% of the people who buy these.
One larger screw plus full contact where is slides in will probably be as strong. With the 5 or 6 screw ones you're still relying on the threads that were never that deep and known for striping.
Quite nice, but I'm still wondering why Microtech would release both a new Combat Troodon and a Hera 2 that's almost identical.
It is a little odd for sure. I think the Hera II should have been massive with a 4.5 inch blade
@@edged_mindset That's seems more like a Combat Troodon. It's always been marketed as a monster and a 4.5" blade would do it.
The Hera 2 is a bit larger But they have the Dual Spring system the springs are much longer than the old single Spring . They can be fired with your index Finger i hated that old spungy Hard to Deploy not The New ones Much more user Friendly old people Love them .
Tony Marfione says the new one got "RocketWire"...
🤔
Awesome, did you get the Medford otf? Supposed to be no blade play
I didn't. I'm excited to hear how that are and see one taken apart
I wanted to see this, wondering how it works x)
😀
I have been waiting 14 months for a Medford without any outside hardware ,and Heretic has already Built one so i feel foolish . The new Gen 3 Combat Trodoon also i am ready for my Medford /BS wait .
That whole Medford situation is crazy!
On one of mine I can take it off track by deploying it and twisting my wrist really fast lol. If you're concerned about safety you could also shoot it into cardboard or folded piece of paper

Lmao. Title no screws first thing you do is take out a screw. LMFAO
Technically, he removed the pocket clip if you talk to Microtech.
